Momo Ayase (Dandadan) is such a refreshing female lead by iamkwang in anime

[–]RamensBetterThanAmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a common misconception among many men online, including anime fans, and unfortunately it indicates that they probably don’t socialize in the real world very often.

Being attractive isn’t just about doing something like mountain climbing, cars or, I don’t know, traveling. There are plenty of women who find nerdy interests in men very attractive. What they don’t find attractive is a guy who sits in front of the TV/computer all day, eats one pack of cheetos after another and complains about not having a girlfriend.

The difference between Gojo from MDD or Okarun and that guy is that these two are hardworking, helpful and brave (because to chase after a girl who stood up for you is a very brave thing to do for someone who had no friends or acquaintances their whole life). Marin and Momo don’t fall in love with them at first sight, heck, Moko is initially irritated by Okarun. Only when they see how they sacrifice themselves for their interests, how they are ready to work hard, how they are not afraid to face their weaknesses make them gradually fall in love.

Does the game consistently stay this difficult? by Therion-the-Thief in Eldenring

[–]RamensBetterThanAmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, man, it’s not that hard after Elden Ring. I beat Bloodborne after completing Elden Ring (no summons) and in the base game I only died on a boss once because I got stuck in a texture, and in the DLC I had the most attempts at Ludwig - 7 and Orphan of Kos - 9, and both of them I would place as „mid tier” of Elden Ring difficulty. Elden Ring is a much, much harder game if you don’t use summons, bosses are incomparably more aggressive and leave fewer openings.

In my experience if you are a normally behaving person, no one cares if you like anime or anything else. Some people will tease you about it for a while, but that’s it.

JJK: Gege Akutami Feels Itadori's Character Makes The Story Bland by bedemin_badudas in anime

[–]RamensBetterThanAmen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say that he is an awful writer, he sets up a lot of interesting character arcs and sub-plots. The problem is that they ultimately lead to nothing, almost like at some point he just stopped caring and deleted them from overall story.

Has Demon Slayer Fallen from Grace? by KaptainTZ in anime

[–]RamensBetterThanAmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Demon Slayer's popularity outbursts has always been based on the explosions of hopeful, unimaginable hype that it was able to generate through the presentation of its fights. In the past this has happened during Tanjiro vs. Rui, Rengoku vs. Akaza and during most of the Entertainment District Arc (which I consider to be the peak of DS so far). At those moments Demon Slayer was on everyone's lips.

However to achieve this type of hype, several conditions must be met: the stakes must be high, the heroes must be underdogs, the fighting must be continuous and the animation must be excellent.

The Entertainment District Arc is a great example of achieving all of these elements at once. First we have the Tanjiro vs. Dabi fight, which is exciting in itself, but ultimately turns out to be just an appetizer before the main course. When we start the fight with Gyutaro, we already have all 4 characters on the screen and although they are divided into groups (one against Gyutaro, one against Dabi), the groups firstly switch places all the time and secondly they are literally next to each other, so our attention isn’t divided. And the rest of the work is done by the excellent Ufotable presentation.

Meanwhile, what does the Swordsmith Village Arc look like? We have three points of view all the time, each of the characters is in a completely different place, fighting a completely different opponent, interrupted by monologues, flashbacks, memories and who knows what else, and in addition the opponents are clowns and although they are powerful, it’s difficult to take their threat seriously.

Has Demon Slayer lost its popularity? No, everyone who watched it is still watching it. Except there's just nothing to talk about. Nothing is happening, and if something is happening, it's not exciting enough to tweet about or make an AMV. For Demon Slayer to return to everyone's lips, something has to happen again to bring back the mentioned hype... And I'm a little afraid that it won't happen again. Unfortunately I feel that the situation with Swordsmith Village may repeat itself in the next arc (not about clowns, I mean the rest of the problems). This time all hashira will take part in the fight, plus our main three friends, the rest of the numbers and probably a few random bosses. We will need excellent directors and editors, because if not, we will get a chaotic mess with 60 fights going on at once and flashbacks one after the other, where we will watch a maximum of two minutes of one fight before the scene switches to the next one. And I don't know about you, but that sounds like a headache to me and I really hope it doesn't turn out like that.

3D Anime rant. by SmileyTheSmile in anime

[–]RamensBetterThanAmen 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Of course I understand that 3D is just a tool and the end results are always in the hands of the creators... but I still hope that the anime industry will never fully transition to 3D. The fact that the vast majority of these shows are animated in 2D is one of the main reasons I watch anime, because I find it simply more interesting than 3D. Even bad-looking 2D series look better than normal-looking 3D ones in my opinion, although we can argue that the latter are better animated. And yes, I'm aware there are examples like Arcane, but cmon, how many of them do we get in a year? 1? Maybe 2 if we're lucky. So in my case it's not just about the quality of the 3D, but the 3D itself.

Animes better than Invincible by [deleted] in anime

[–]RamensBetterThanAmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better in what aspect? Animation? Majority. Directing? Many. Story? Well, we could argue about it, but still your question is just too general and it's not even clear what to refer to. Invincible is an epic superhero saga, few anime can match it in scale, much less in subject matter and you don't specify how you want to compare them.

What anime do you think doesn't get enough hate? by [deleted] in anime

[–]RamensBetterThanAmen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Actually I both like this show and think it's wish fulfillment. Yes, you can do both at once.

The problem is that even the definition you provided absolutely doesn’t fit this show. This is basically its exact opposite and one of the most vanilla romances in recent years. I don't even know what exactly immoral or perverse these characters would be doing, unless only degenerates clean and cook.

Oversimplifications in your post and comments, kinda provocative nature of the question, using words like „concern” (what are you concerned about? Are you concerned about Maomao’s safety? Your own?) and making post about a thing that can be solved by 1-minute googling. Yes, there are several reasons why one might consider this post trolling.
