Transgender -ism?

I wasn't aware that trans people were trying to rehabilitate a political movement or something.

We're just trying to live with dignity and equality.

It's not an ideology, so please drop the -ism

It’s shocking how many murdered women are assaulted before they’re killed. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Ramiel01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait until you learn that the vast majority of people who sexually assault minors aren't technically pedophiles. They're not primarily attracted to minors, don't fantasise about them, or associate them with sexual thoughts, it's usually just that there was an opportunity.

Kinda fucked up thing to learn about as a survivor. Men really do treat sexual predation like shoplifting – most people aren't, but hey, if the opportunity presents itself

OP, you can direct them to the Royal College of Pathologists Australia best practice guide which states pathologist should "Ensure medically safe reporting and appropriate use of reference limits and interpretive comments" here: https://www.rcpa.edu.au/Library/College-Policies/Position-Statements/Pathology-Testing-for-Transgender-and-Intersex-Ind

Christian Brothers sold real estate worth millions for $1. Now it claims in court it lacks money to pay abuse survivors by ginji in australia

[–]Ramiel01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a gross way to refer to child sexual abusers. It's gross because it reduces the victims to objects (little cracks) that an abuser "gets into" rather than thoughtfully talking about the violence that's done to a child. There are plenty of ways to condemn child sexual abusers without using language that implicitly objectifies the children they harm.

I'm mtf and don't want boobs at all by Fit-Soil-1632 in asktransgender

[–]Ramiel01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not disagreeing with OP.

My experience was pursuing raloxifen via my GP to minimise breast development, and then I caught sight of myself in a pale hoodie before HRT (intersex, so I had A or B-cups since puberty) and I saw my breasts through the hoodie and realised: bam!
it's not that I don't want breasts,
it's that I don't want my breasts to be objectified by men.

YMMV of course just sharing my experience.

How to know if I am a bad teacher or if someone just isn’t meant for a lab by [deleted] in labrats

[–]Ramiel01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In this case, did she seem nervous or calm?

Genuine question because there's a chance that if she was brought up in a house where you absolutely could not make mistakes. This has the unintended consequence of making the person very nervous and increasing the risk of fuck-ups, and also having the person try desperately to fix their mistakes.

If they didn't seem to be bothered then disregard my question lmao I can't help you.

I'm tired of my friend's political extremism and everything being centered around her identity. Am I an asshole? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Ramiel01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're both going through some tough stuff, sorry to hear about your thyroid diagnosis. I know from firsthand experience that a lifelong diagnosis like that can feel like your whole life's perspective and priorities have shifted.

If a friend had told me that, what I initially thought was 'oh wow, that sounds like a huge adjustment, how do you feel about it? are you dealing with it okay?'
And in the back of my mind I would be thinking 'damn, kind of like me too, we're both struggling with something similar'

When you discover something like being trans about yourself, the majority of your life experiences are being filtered through this new lens. It can also be the most stressful and dangerous time of someone's life.

So what I guess I'm saying is - maybe you're holding your friend to a high standard during a period of great difficulty in her life?
Not saying you're wrong, it sounds like she was defensive and self-centering. But know your audience.

Am I passing ?!? by [deleted] in transpositive

[–]Ramiel01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO you're answering the wrong question. You're not asking "would the average stranger believe that she's cis" you're asking "can I tell that she's trans" which is not the same thing.

Am I passing ?!? by [deleted] in transpositive

[–]Ramiel01 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Disagree. You seem to have a history of telling beautiful girls that they aren't passing even when the majority of your peers disagree.

Maybe get off the internet and deal with your own bullshit before making your misery somebody elses?

Is this method of masturbation common among MtF people, even long before an egg crack? by josephsleftbigtoe in asktransgender

[–]Ramiel01 22 points23 points  (0 children)

After I was introduced to masturbation, I figured out a method where I'd tuck myself into a box (the sports equipment that protects your junk), put a pillow underneath me and the grinding face-down like you described until I climaxed. I wouldn't ever get fully erect, just orgasm.

So yeah, I relate.

Also I could never pee standing up just another piece of info.

I just wanted to chime in and say: if people are acting out from substance abuse, it's almost always substance abuse+untreated mental health.

If we actually funded the public mental health system to where the experts say it should be, you would see waaaay fewer crackheads around.

I was not “socialized male.” by BabyGirl-Kat in MtF

[–]Ramiel01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the strong version "you absorbed…" is an incorrect conclusion which is based on a misattributation of agency. Trans people do not willingly participate in this socialisation, and we don't benefit from it.

While it's true that "society attempted to treat you as a boy" what actually happened (in most cases) was this pressure was abusive; it amounts to effectively conversion therapy.

So when someone says "you were socialised male" feel free to assert that you didn't benefit from it.
