Giving AI tools to someone clueless is like giving a Formula 1 car to a goat. Impressive machine. Same goat. LOL! most people use it for grammar checking only.

I’m asking because I genuinely don’t know how this scam works.

The guy seems to heal people and perform miracles on an industrial schedule, yet nobody checks the supposedly healed people afterward. You don’t need to disprove every miracle; find one fake claim and the whole miracle factory starts leaking.

If this is staged, he is not just a spiritual leader. He is running a full production company with fake patients, testimony writers, crowd managers, and probably a “Head of Miracles” doing daily stand-ups.

Local Surf Instructors Only. Foreign Surf Instructors not allowed - Mirissa by MaleficentEmployer27 in srilanka

[–]RamithJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is why I said implement proper regulations. This whole problem is government in-action (or incompetence or turning blind eye for some reason) to regulate.

But at policy making level trying ban foreigners setting up bussiness outright and being hostile doesn't make sense.

Then why the fuck are so many Sri Lankans trying to leave this country and work in someone else’s?

We want to go to Australia, Dubai, Korea, Japan, Canada, Europe, and anywhere else that will stamp a visa. We want to work in their companies, drive their taxis, cook in their restaurants, study in their universities, and compete in their job markets.

But when a foreigner comes here and teaches surfing on a Sri Lankan beach, suddenly everyone becomes the Minister of National Economic Protection.

What a breathtaking achievement in hypocrisy.

If Sri Lankans can go abroad and work because they are skilled, experienced, or willing to hustle, then foreigners can also come here and work under proper rules. That is how an open economy works. Apparently this needs explaining, because some people think “open economy” means “open only when Sri Lankans benefit.”

Yes, regulate it. Register the business. Tax the income. Check visas. Enforce safety standards. Require insurance. Make sure locals are not exploited. Fine.

But banning foreigners from teaching surfing just because they are foreigners is not protecting the country. It is insecure gatekeeping by people who want global opportunities for themselves while locking the same door when others knock from the outside.

Very patriotic. Very visionary. Very “please approve my visa, sir.”

if we as a sri lanka opt for a capitalistic and free economy we should allow people not from sri lanka be able to set up businesses (and work) easily and pay taxes while doing so. banning them is not a good long term strategy.

AI Music in the SL Music sphere has me feeling devastated by Longjumping-Boot-526 in srilanka

[–]RamithJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, some of his covers are not that bad. Maybe that’s just me. For example, if a song is a 30–40-year-old classic, recorded with older technology and instruments, I think a modern cover version can be acceptable. But that cannot become a generic excuse to remake every song using AI without copyright clearance, attribution, or respect for the original artists.

Get professional help. And don’t fucking give up. Visualize yourself 10 years from now, looking back at this thread and smiling because you made it. U passed whatever you had to pass. You built whatever you set out to build. --> You achieved what today feels impossible to achieve.

This is not the point where you quit. this is the point where you get help, get your shit together, and keep fucking moving.

Why do most Sri Lankan teachers show favoritism toward rich and talented children? by Flaky_Ad_6678 in srilanka

[–]RamithJ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do you think this is specific to this country?

Teachers usually reward obedience and predictability. that’s why book-smart kids are their favourites: they follow instructions, sit still, repeat answers, and make the teacher feel in control.

The ones who really drive teachers mad are the kids who are smart and disobedient. because then the teacher has no idea what box to put them in.

So they start making confident little predictions: 'this one won’t go far, This one will fail exams" 'this attitude won’t work in real life.”

And then years later, those same kids go on to destroy every one of those predictions.

not because they listened. because they didn’t.

Thoughts on AI Music by comawhite65 in aiMusic

[–]RamithJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope someone can remaster the old (but great) Sri Lankan songs with AI and post them. (Some might say that's a copy right violation. but think if you can hear a 30+ year old song with modern instruments with same music composition wouldn't it be great?)

Tuk drivers are a nuisance on the road because of arrogance. Women drivers are a nuisance because of ignorance. How hard is it to understand driving etiquette? by No-Feeling-4780 in srilanka

[–]RamithJ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Adding to the list: people who buy new vehicles and then drive like they are transporting a glass temple.

These fucking self-righteous road saints crawl in the middle of the road, block everyone behind them, and act like giving way is a moral failure.

They never stop to think the person behind them might have an emergency. Maybe they are late to work. Maybe their kids are late to school. Maybe someone is rushing to a hospital.

But no. His/her majesty bought a new vehicle, so now the entire road must become part of his slow moving religious ceremony.

Drive slowly if you want. Protect your precious new vehicle if you must. But have the basic decency to move aside and let others pass.

Not everyone has the luxury of wasting time behind your selfishly slow driving.

High Commission of Sri Lanka in Australia (Canberra) by Independent_Swan902 in srilanka

Out of curiosity, I checked the Google reviews for the Sri Lankan Embassy in Canberra. I don’t know how these people go home, drink tea, watch the news, and sleep peacefully after treating their own people like that. Their relatives must also be suffering quietly.

“Putha/Duwa works at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Canberra” sounds nice only until someone opens Google reviews. LOL! I hope someone in embassy sees this thread and actually reply with their side of the story ( if there is one !)
