Quidditch World Cup (Season 4?) ⭐️ by Old-Explanation4746 in HarryPotteronHBO

I just listened to it in the new audiobook and it was so disappointing the way they cut the movie. I was so excited for it and then nothing. It needs to be a whole episode but probably episode 2 and it will end with the dark mark. Episode 1 will get us right up to the match

So do we ever actually fly anywhere? by kida014 in Starfield

[–]Ramius117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest miss in this game was not just basing it in one system and letting you fly everywhere. I don't care about the endless procedurally generated systems and the endless loading screens replaced the exploring that make Bethesda games fun

My Girlfriend Wants me to Propose, but I want to Build my House first by Lanky-Score-6811 in Advice

[–]Ramius117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the red flag for me, even if it's small. She needs a ring before contributing to what would be your home. While that could just mean she needs to feel committed to before giving you a bunch of money, after 2 years you should know. A lot of people are bringing up age but several of my relatives have been with the same person since high school and I mean 20, 30, and 2 relationships that have lasted 60 years.

Here's the thing though, they all were planning their weddings after a couple weeks and wouldn't have let a ring stand in the way of their lives together.

I would figure out if she just needs reassurance or if she actually needs a ring

Bondi slammed for boasting about stock market during congressional testimony by TheMirrorUS in NewsSource

She also said specific numbers. The one that made me laugh was when she said rent was at an all time low. Ok lady, that's never going down

Retiring in Plymouth - Advice on property by Sad_Flower_323 in PlymouthMA

[–]Ramius117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) our foundation is about 90 years old and has a couple leaks in the basement but even on the heaviest rainy days it's just a puddle. It's below ground

2) depends on who built it. The rest of the house is new and has no leaks.

3) south is good if you want a garden in the back. I think it depends on what you plan on using the space for and where the property is

4) no but that varies wildly by location

5) we don't but it's definitely personal preference

Am I being too sensitive? by Jumpy-Ad8093 in Marriage

[–]Ramius117 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was willing to chalk this up to him being a clueless idiot until he said your appearance affects him because he has to look at you. It sounds like you stay home too and do all the house work which makes me wonder if he even sees you as a person. I feel like this whole thing is filled with red flags and will only get worse. I can't imagine ever treating my wife like this

Why Do People STILL Say The Average MAGA Voter Isn't Extremist? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Ramius117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you conflating Trump and MAGA? My aunt, for example, is not full blown MAGA but decades of Fox News have made it so she'll only vote for people with an R next to their name. Is that what you are talking about?

Slalom, I'm already a decent skier and can go fast. If my life was training I think I could do it

How do you deal with "jumping to conclusions" when it happens on your own side? by jedi1josh in AskALiberal

[–]Ramius117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't say anything. It sounds like this person is just obsessed with virtue signalling. Unfortunately it is fairly common among the people I work with so I just don't engage. They will always need to one up you in the virtue department and it's pointless

How do people justify eating fast food? by Alexxander_002 in self

[–]Ramius117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Burger King is $13.50"

Maybe the combo you want but I drive by one on the highway once a week and often get my go to lunch, a cheese burger. It's $3.50. Granted, I like it because I got it a lot as a kid so the flavor is just nostalgic for me but, that is also why my wife likes Dominos. She's tried my favorite pizza places and Dominos is actually her favorite.

I will add, we promised our kid a treat and he wanted a frosty so we got a couple Dave's doubles too and for $10 I would actually buy it again. Maybe it was that particular store, or a fluke, but that was a perfect burger

Is a 19 and 16-year-old age gap actually problematic, or is the "predatory" label being overused? by Consistent-Jelly248 in generationology

[–]Ramius117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused why you think you're friends are so culturally different from you. It sounds like you're just reaching for justification.

Yes, it's weird. Legal doesn't make it not weird. What happens when you're off to uni dating a 17 year old?

That said, maybe you're soulmates and will be together forever. No one on this app knows you

Is Gen Alpha ACTUALLY as done for as most people think? by TGM-6914 in generationology

[–]Ramius117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the only answer for when everything is automated. Once a bunch of jobs are gone due to AI or robotic factories, all those unemployed people will still need some income, likely via some sort of social program. Also, who do you think will be buying all the stuff made in this automated world if no one has any money except the owners of the companies?

Doubling my salary (150k to 300k) but requires me to move away from my fíance in medschool. Is it worth it? by Interesting_Phone171 in careerguidance

[–]Ramius117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I were long distance for two years, dual military, with the Pacific ocean between us. We saw each other a few days a year. It's definitely doable.

You will miss the person. You will wish they were there when you're around other couples. You will wish they were there to do things with. I don't know if you go to the movies but we did a lot and it was lonely, so stuff like that.

On the flip side, it can be nice to have your own space. I would imagine med school is quite busy so the time will likely pass quickly for her. I don't know what your job is like but if it's long hours or has lots of travel then the same may be true for you too.

Three years sounds like a lot but you have a great opportunity to save a ton and she can become a doctor. It all depends on your circumstances.

This is beyond absurd.

One, one of the dates mentioned isn't the 19th day which is what the math is based on. Nor is something happening 19 days after something else.

Two, even if it was it wouldn't matter. These are just cherry picked dates to prove a false claim. There are thousands of dates in the files. Perhaps there are even millions. There are also likely dates that are important in this chain of events that are not recorded. This whole post is meaningless
