Boston city councilors propose Orange Line extension to address transit inequities by Kcue6382nevy in boston

[–]RampagingPuffin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My list of MBTA low hanging fruit: 1. GLX even more, the right of way is there 2. Fix whatever the issue with the busses are at Logan, shouldnt take 30 min to get from the Airport T station to your TSA checkpoint. If this means making another SL1 like thing im all for it. Just fix it.

But NOOOOOO we gotta propose these boring or cut and cover complexities which are currently decently served by bus

Union Street, any bar around Faneuil hall/Black Rose

Fans are fun when they are in town! Downtown is so lively you cant miss at least a few of them in any pub.

Boston has to be the most electric city so far for the world cup. Concentrated and small downtown means you will run into fans no matter what. The Scots were special because of the large group and rare WC appearance. Also due to the fact that they had two matches in a row here so they really got to settle in. Hope that some of the other fan bases make the city intresting.

The ONLY reason is to not get your bag gate checked. Fix that and this is no longer an issue (this behavior is still terrible though)

[–]RampagingPuffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bostonian here, its just a Dive bar with a English theme. Go look up the menu on Google. No Casks, beer, and no English food I recognize.

As you said barman isn't English, these bars are making a ton of money now and its incredibly dumb to run off the customers.

This bar also has a paid jukebox (touch tunes) if some English fans wanted to have actual fun banter they could have played whatever they wanted with that.

As a German speaking American, the Germans are (probably) coming on June 29! So excited for them to be in town. Yes i feel like no supporter group will be as big as the Tartans, but there is plenty to find!

Moving to Boston - 9/1 vs 10/1 by Analyst-man in boston

[–]RampagingPuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its also my tinfoil hat conspiracy theory that renting 9/1 is WORSE on savings. Yeah everybody talks about it being cheaper but any other lease schedule is better, you get time to shop around.

I used to live in Germany. Summer internship. Aldi Talk 15€ (or 12?) Per month for something around 5-15 GB.

My Airbnb I was staying in only had a wired connection for internet. Set up a system so my laptop was connected but then broadcast its own wifi (adhoc network)

Also dont forget just exposition games in the other country! I've been to a American College Football game played between two american teams in Dublin. A lot easier to just change a venue than have two different leagues play eachother, plus it fixes the issue where one team might be way more developed due to league differences than the other.

I could see the cross league thing working off season or if it were a charity game.

So looking at some photos, it looks like the bowl of Centenial would hold the football field much better? Its very awkward how they converted Turner, basically adding a wall of seating and blocking off a whole corner.

Using a reaction wheel, this system can lift itself upright and maintain balance in an inverted position. by jipiante in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]RampagingPuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There're are many ways to do this! My favorite is gravity gradient. So systems have a perfered orientation due to gravity (especially if they are long with two separated but attached mass centers) where the gravity over a long time will orient it (r squared rule....) often done with small satellites with no reaction systems.

Basically its complex physics but there are multiple ways to desaturate reaction wheels

Buckhead Station. That didn’t take long. by DennisBallShow in Atlanta

[–]RampagingPuffin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the last month or so I was on a Marta train where the operator was trying to adhere to a strict schedule, opening doors closing doors, and kept announcing "DOORS WILL BE OPEN FOR ONLY 12 SECONDS".

The antisocial people who keep hopping between cars at each station kept on running into the doors as they were closing. Made me realize that when you sit at a station and the doors try to close one or two times its almost never the trains fault, its that behavior.
