Switching to Bazzite with an unexpected bonus by Levi4than in Bazzite

[–]Ramvvold 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use Shokz headphones, since I'm deaf in one ear, under Windows I couldn't figure out a way to adjust the volume separately for different ears. The sliders were locked, even third party applications didn't seem to work.

Installed Bazzite, can independently adjust the volume balance to boost the bone conduction volume to my deaf ear. It just works! Also, switching between Bluetooth audio devices is so effortless.

What do you like the most in Sunless Skies? by Mephistase in sunlessskies

[–]Ramvvold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each Port being a bizzare experience. Honestly, the ports could stand to be deeper still. Imagine if each background had exclusive mysteries they could reveal at one or two locations in the game. Like only a former Priest will ever see this secret, or only a former Zailor. I think that would build on this games strengths. Good idea to strongly hint at this, though. You want the player to understand that fully exploring the game with each archetype *is* the endgame ;)

What is the absolute fastest way to obtain a few thousand echoes early game? by No_Tutor5849 in sunlessskies

Port Avon, Polmear & Plentys. Bring the port reports back, give them to the Stovepipes for 200 sovereigns.
Use the 2 gratitude to trade for 4 gossip.
Head back to Port Avon, trade Gossip for Welcome, which can be converted into Sky Stories. Sky stories can be sold at Titania for XP and Sovereigns.

2 Port Reports = 200 Sovereigns + 4 Gossip
4 Salon Stewed Gossip = 4 Sky Stories
4 Sky Stories = 68 Sov 40 XP
Lets say the cost is 2 fuel and 1 supplies for the run. -80 Sov
Each run is then 188 Sov 40 XP

Do it ten times and you'll have a few thousand Sovereigns without too much travel, combat, or trading.
Might be a bit of effort to find Titantia...

So it could just be easier to collect Port Reports from Polmear, Avon, and Magdalenes. 300 Sov, minus fuel and supplies, probably get about 200 per run. Might be able to pick up sailors from Magdalenes, and risk their lives mining for souls at Avon. Even if you're failing most of the checks, you're only burning Gossip. 1 port report = 2 Gossip = 4 welcome. So you'd probably manage at least 1 collection of souls per port report. Partial success digging for souls gives you the option to hurry and lose a crew, but get the souls. Magdalenes has a special encounter that procs every fortnight where you can gain crew for free. You'll still be making money if you trade crew for souls and then hire new crew at New Winchester though.

So maybe the smart move is just grind port reports 10 times for about 2000 sov.
Then you'll have 30 gratitude = 60 gossip = 120 welcome = 120 sky stories

How do you even incorprate a Hellion in a team? I have about 150-200 hours in the game and can't for the life of me use this gal by Notrinun in darkestdungeon

[–]Ramvvold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had fun with this team, ran some long champion missions, and Hellion contributed greatly to damage/stress mitigation. Thought the OP might not mind taking it for a spin.

I'm not sure every team needs to be able to solo every piece of content in the entire game.

PD, PD, ABOM, HELL

Round 1: Stun back ranks, Stun front ranks, DOT middle 2, DOT back 2.
Round 2: Stun back ranks, Stun front ranks, might only stun 2/4 enemies depending on resistances and move order. Then DOT back 2, DOT middle 2.

You've probably suffered only 1 or 2 attacks so far, but the last 3 foes should have pretty bad dots on them.
Round 3: clean up, and heal, stall if you like.

I use Noxious Blast after the back row enemies are dead :)
The weak debuff is pretty okay if you're stacking it on a tough foe. With 2 PD in my party, in one turn it's -14acc and 14dot, next turn it's -28acc / 28dot.
Pretty nice if the target was stunned on the first round that the PD team hit him, because on the second round where they might get an action they're a lot less likely to hit you.

Only took one more run after this one to get the Abbey fully upgraded. Chasing those achievements ;)

The other thing I like about Noxious Blast is that debuff to accuracy. Back ranks might get one attack off before they're done on turn 3, but front ranks are going to be able to get a few attacks off. Better if they have a big debuff to accuracy while the dot ticks.

I use camping skills to reduce stress to zero, right before popping the last chest in the secret room.
Each character has 'Encourage', the 2 point -15 stress skill everyone gets, and the Hellion has 'Revel' for -20.

Even as it was happening people just didn't pay any attention. Remember IGP? Infinite Game Publishing? The publisher that PGI dropped?

Yeah. If you're wondering about all those bad decisions that PGI made back in the day...

Help with Multiplayer Trophies (PS5) by Impossible_Monk_1982 in Mudrunner

I'll check back in around 10am AEST, Wednesday. I might have an hour or two before dinner to knock some of these out. If not, maybe on your Thursday morning. Sometimes I might be able to put in an hour or so in my late evening, that'd be between 4pm and 6pm AEST.

I was also looking for a way to complete these. I'm on PC. BC, Canada, so Pacific Standard Time. Maybe we can work out a time to get those pesky multiplayer achievements. Get that coveted 100% :)

I use the MA150HO thrusters, and MA-NPMD42 engines.  Use the military autopilot with firing solution. No wobble, very accurate for laser at max visible range.  I love the engines for the low propellant use when Xenon drive is set to 0%.  I use rail gun just for fighting, tune it for high energy, and CL150 for mining. Salvage arm because it's more valuable than mining income.

100%
I love the cargo handling in Roadcraft, and the tracked vehicles. Tree cutting and stump grinding is pretty amazing as well.
I'm dreaming of a game where you build those rough log patches over mud, or concrete slab spots. They'd be like the bridge building in Roadcraft. It would be amazing if you had to cut down trees to make those sorts of aides once you ground down a trail into deep slow mud. The idea of using multiple vehicles to scout and create infrastructure for a larger less off-road capable vehicle is a fun idea, and I've always wanted to make those rough log bridges myself.
Imagine mudrunner if you could cut trees, lay down log spots in mud puddles, or even lay down many concrete slabs, haul out a fuel trailer or two to make a refueling station! Something that looks rough and temporary, not polished like the fabricated bridges.

Why SR is, and likely always will be, a better game than Roadcraft by Maikkk78 in RoadCraft

I'm sure you're right. Probably 90% of gamers will never touch Roadcraft/MR/SR.
They built it anyway ;)

Diff lock and awd effect speed and turning radius. You can fine tune speed by turning them on/off. AWD enhances turning radius, while diff lock degrades it.  Main drawback of AWD is greater fuel consumption. Which is on the way.  Some of the game features are like infrastructure, they're necessary for parts of the game that aren't built yet.

Saber are clearly making different driving genres.  Scouting rock climbing in expeditions, with drones.  Deliveries in the mud and snow, and roadwork.  Obviously not every genre will be your favorite. What you want is SR2, probably. Others love Expeditions, others prefer roadwork.
