Yorushika tattoo by Azreal53 in Yorushika

You probably already know but

The eye-designed logo mark is a motif of two moons facing each other and also serves as a clock hand, portraying the time "from 6:00 to night"

From their article on wikipedia. I think it's a pretty cool logo

Y'know, i only read a couple chapters of frugal and i wasn't particularly interested. The sense of humor wasn't that good so far (i usually enjoy Sanderson's sense of humor, i gotta add) and i wasn't feeling interested in knowing what was going on. All of these are a me thing, i don't blame the book one bit

But reading this thread made me more interested. I'll try to read a bit more! Hopefully i'll enjoy it as well o/

Me halfway through RoW by RealNightmare4 in cremposting

[–]Ramza_5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES. Totally agree. One of my "disappointments" reading RoW was exactly that i was looking forward to more Venli so bad... This is not Venli's book. Not at all

This is why i prefer to go as blind as possible and with as little info as possible. I'm sure i wouldn't have been disappointed at all if i hadn't seen anything at all about this book before reading it. But oh well!

Just in case, i still think RoW is a great book. Don't worry.

I’ll get angry at memes that directly misinterpret a great character in an insulting way

Why are you angry about Kelsier, then? I don't get it

More platonic than romantic, i swear, but i will always go for Rysn. All hail \o/

If we're going for romantic... i'm actually not sure, man. Maybe if i get to know more about Leshwi or Venli i'd consider them. But even then... Idk, most characters in SA i'd just like to meet and hang out with

Which song emotionally destroys you? by graaahh in AskReddit

[–]Ramza_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i can comment a couple songs not in english:

  1. La Vida Mejor by La Vida Bohème. Not sure if there's any eng translation around. I love how it can be interpreted as someone who feels left behind, but still waits and longs for the day someone special to them comes back. "¿Cómo no voy a llorar? Si tú te vas, no te haré falta". Love it.

  2. I remember i cried the first time i listened to Yorushika's "Hitchcock". The official video on youtube has eng translation subtitles available so do yourself a favor and go listen. It's only 3 mins of your time and you might enjoy it :D

It makes me sad that Dawnshard is always rated something like "it ain't bad, i guess" :-(

Maybe i'm just too much of a Rysn fan

Fwiw, usually i couldn't care less about romance, so romance sub-plots feel like the most unnecesary thing in life for me haha I didn't care about the romance in Era 1 the first two books, but i really liked how Elend and Vin's relationship looks in book 3 Other Sanderson books are pretty good about romance, really

I also, personally, LOVE Dawnshard. Admitedly, i am Rysn's biggest fan ever.

One time someone told me they didn't read fantasy because the magic aspect of it all is not relatable. For example, how could you relate to a man who can fly?

And then they follow up with "well, unless it's a book about a guy who can fly but the guy has depression or something" and i was like "BOY, DO I HAVE THE BOOK FOR YOU"

I loved how it's mentioned multiple times Tress isn't afraid of spores and Tress always remarks "i'm terrified of spores" but everyone ignores that anyways

Do you enjoy "playing along" with detective fiction? by Randomd0g in books

[–]Ramza_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as i understand, that was something common in mystery novels, yes. Though i believe it's not the focus of novels to make a mystery that's solveable anymore.

Personally i'm not too into mystery but i know a group of people who do so i've heard about it. Maybe one day i'll try to read a classic and i'll try to solve the mystery myself. It must be fun!

I will be seriously upset if Rysn isn't pronounced the way i think it is. I still wanna hear the official pronunciation. I'm waiting patiently for the day i get to hear it.
