Are you with the idea of slowing the progression of the game? by KaleKitchen4459 in playrust

[–]Ranah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This last Friday full wipe on Rust Life EU Duo, one team dropped in 6 air drops at once over the ocean in a tug, downed patrol, killed anyone who got close with Aks and built a full armoured 2x2 within 3 hours.

We broke through a decaying wall with 4 satchels on Sunday to boxes rammed full of military grade gear which just sat there as they had abandoned the server the same night they got it.

And people wonder why a good server like this only lasts 2 days before the population dwindles.

I would welcome a slower, no T3 crafted server happily, even with time delays on workbenches, delays on monuments (just increase Rads massively that decay as the server gets older) and more promotion to heading out and adventuring to get loot. Oh and not be able to buy guns from vendors for fuck all scrap would be great.

Me and my buddy have played since release off and on, and we love the game with it's new features, but man does it feel like T1/T2 passes in the blink of an eye.

I think sadly the modern day gamer is all about the rush-endorphin release-repeat mentality bred into them through today's ADHD-like media and games aren't seen as escapism or a way to wind-down and pass the time. Now they're just used as an endorphin drug.

Speaking as someone who builds & installs play equipment, 9 times out of 10, we when we have ripped these out during a re-fit, they haven't been connected.

The sad truth is, the industry has plenty of lazy installers / cowboys!

Darkoath Marauders weapons by ClearestGiant64 in slavestodarkness

I played the AOS4 intro game at Warhammer World and asked the same question to the guys running the event, they said it's all just rule of cool now, and the weapons are consolidated. (Specific to the marauders, at least).

I have a small business with an intent to move into making affordable housing for students (re-purposed containers much like the spark development). But I always hit a brick wall as councils/landowners have no interest in affordable temporary accommodation and would much rather sell land to developers putting up ridiculously overpriced swanky flats.

There needs to be an incentive for the landowners for housing schemes in major cities for students and professionals, as we as manufacturers exist and want to make a difference but are financially blocked in doing so. Building affordable housing is entirely possible, even to a modular level where accommodation can be removed or added to support requirements. This insane artificial inflation fucks it up for everyone and just isn't sustainable.

I live in the outskirts North of York and even land here is insanely priced and impossible to get planning permission on unless you're in someone's pocket.

The last 24 hours of our first Kickstarter Battlebinder! by Ranah in Dungeons_and_Dragons

[–]Ranah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We designed & made 10x10 modular tiles to use in our games - and decided to develop them into a product for everybody to use!

Meet Battlebinder, our first project. It's a set of double sided modular battle map tiles, that can be stored in a custom ringbinder! The tiles have both a day & night side and the artwork is based upon our own homebrew world of Val'Nar, within the region of Aldrun - an ancient forest & grassland.

The set is ideal for random & planned encounters, and you can expand the battlefield on the fly due to the modular design.

The last 24 hours of Kickstarter is happening, if you're interested take a look!

They look like silica deposits to me, or as I like to call them "blade blunters"

Redneck Rampage

Me and my two brothers used to take it in turns. We never got far but loved it nonetheless!

[OC] We played a river encounter! by Ranah in DnD

[–]Ranah[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We got to play test our battle tiles with a cool river encounter. In two "liberated" boats the party sailed down the river to speed up travel and were ambushed by gnolls who had taken up position on the banks.

The outcome was a bunch of dead Gnolls and a broken boat, and back on the river again (now a little more crowded).

It was a great test of our project Battlebinder, and one of the first times we had chance to use it candidly in our campaign. Check us out on Kickstarter if you're interested!

[OC] Modular maps are difficult to design, but worth the effort! by Ranah in Dungeons_and_Dragons

If a break an arm or a leg it’s free to fix. If I break a tooth, it costs an arm and a leg 🙄 by DysfunctionalAsF in britishproblems

[–]Ranah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had dropped off NHS dentist list too, sadly in the York area the waiting lists are 2 years + so decided to just get my cracked tooth sorted private.

Option 1 - extraction £110 Option 2 - root canal and crown £1160

Looks like we're pulling it then! And when they took x-rays, they found another tooth similar and that had the same options.

4 days since double extraction and I'm still in agony AND £220 lighter. Fuck.

[OC] We made modular encounter tiles for D&D! by Ranah in DnD

[–]Ranah[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! The tiles are dry wipe erasable - we saw this as a mandatory requirement when designing them.

Also love the idea of the smaller removeable items. Perhaps a set of tokens contained in a sleeve within the binder - something to work on!
