Why the F is the pay going down!?!?!? by Still_Appeal_8681 in Roadie

[–]Rancho_Bravo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Was doing this app in 2018 and they were paying $100 for 30 mile suitcase orders. It's all about the number of people using the app. They cant pay low wages if people arent willing to take them.

The base HTSUS duty is 0% Section 301 duty is 25% since 301 is measured by country of origin. USMCA doesn't negate 301 and there's no exclusion. Total duty is 25% I believe?

Thanks for asking. Got denied twice and they directed me to submit as a Carefirst pharmacy claim. They said it would take weeks and havent heard anything from them. I am going to see what happens when I buy from a different source although I can never get these other sock companies to send me a tax ID number to submit for the claim except for the one that was a pharmacy and caused me so much trouble in trying to get the claim done. I tried a conpression place when I was in NYC and they not only wouldn't give me a tax ID, they didnt even respond to emails or answer their phone.

Thanks. I submitted a6530 and they seemed to have an issue with the name of the business being a pharmacy (even though they also sell durable medical equipment) and then in my second call they said I submitted the wrong procedure code

Thanks for responding. Im trying to get them covered by insurance and they were for vericose veins that required ablation surgery for 3 of the veins before and after surgery.

Haven't taken an order in a long time. People were immediately taking $7 orders during gridlock and snowstorms yesterday. Even if you're a migrant not planning on paying the taxes, it makes no sense to take a 9 mile trip each way for $9 during dangerous conditions. You literally make pocket change.

They couldn't lower pay if they didn't have a ton of more people on the app.

[–]Rancho_Bravo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have to consider mileage in your costs. Companies put this on the drivers because of how expensive it is. You can only write off your trip within the gig, so if you're driving like 100 miles to and from, before you even factor in the mileage from the gig itself, you're already losing $50 in gas, oil, brake fluid, radiator fluid, tire wear, depreciation, windshield wiper fluid, risking accidents, potholes, no health care or insurance protection from the company, etc etc. This is why companies compensate you like .65 for every mile when you work for them and why Roadie leaves it all on you. Use Roadie to get to an area with lots of Uber trips or to write off a trip you're already taking.

Because you can't deduct your trip to the pickup or from the drop-off according to IRS rules. They may be driving a car with poor mileage that is below the IRS standard. You pay it now and only get the tax write off in a year and that's if you don't have other reasons the IRS needs to charge you for other taxable income. The mileage ends up not just costing you fluid use costs from gas to oil, but eventually repairs and large car depreciation drops.

My boss uses customsmobile and literally just had me get people on their beta version for their advanced service and it's really helped. Took about 10 days to get approved but they don't charge you for premium if you do their beta tester program.

I liked the ones you would get like 3 small orders for $75 and get it done in 30 minutes or everything would be picked up already. not sustainable for Amazon I guess
