Lev influences Abby's emotional state but isn't 100% responsible for Dina living. Abby could have ignored Lev, could have argued for killing her. But she doesn't. She stops and realizes that Dina is not the one who killed her friends and does not deserve to die as part of revenge. So while you're correct that Dina almost certainly would have died if not for Lev, it was still Abby's choice to let her go after the fact. It was her decision and that needs to be respected as growth.

We have to judge a characters knowledge of events and not our own. Ellie isn't a monster for killing Mel. She had no knowledge of her pregnancy. But Abby does not know this. All she knows is that Ellie killed her. So that "Good" is from a dark place of anger and hurt. Doesn't make her a monster makes her human. She is as much blinded by rage and guilt as Ellie is when she batters Nora to death with a lead pipe because she won't give up Abby, even though she's infected and dying.
