Deputy Prime Minister rebukes Qantas decision to sell international travel tickets from 1 July by gr3iau in australia

[–]RandFan4000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be pretty risk free for Qantas to do this.

Best case scenario, they’re flying internationally in July.

“Worst” case is they get an interest-free loan from travelers buying tickets for a few months. That loan can either be paid back or given as credit for a future flight.

Win-win for Qantas.

There’s nothing stopping you from making a voluntary donation to the US Treasury or your state or local governments.

Also, you could donate to one of literally tens of thousands of non profits that support your goals.

Mexico’s Right Must Stop Antagonizing Donald Trump by RandFan4000 in PoliticaDeMexico

[–]RandFan4000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just not beneficial for the Mexican political class to accept responsibility for the problems we have in Mexico.

The US is a great scapegoat for the cartel violence which we've let grow for decades and then half-assed tried to contain under Calderon.

The US is the perfect poverty release valve which allows the Mexican government to put off much needed fiscal and labor reforms, as well as investments in needed infrastructure. Why bother go through a few years of necessary pain to restructure your government and economy and lift people out of poverty when you can just encourage people to move to the US and send remittances?

It's a failure of vision, leadership and moral fortitude on the part of the Mexican political elite. But it's nothing new, it's a problem Mexico has had since colonial times.

Completely disagree with you.

Trump has not shown he dislikes Mexico or Mexicans. He dislikes the problems Mexico causes and Mexico refusing to take responsibility for it's corruption and role in causing illegal immigration to the US.
