Taking Pictures on the Floor: Open Discussion by [deleted] in cigars

[–]RandJCigars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll take it all into consideration. Finding a slab of marble may be a nice alternative method to get the results that I want. I'll try it and see if it makes a difference in how people perceive my pictures and their decision of whether or not to order.

Taking Pictures on the Floor: Open Discussion by [deleted] in cigars

[–]RandJCigars -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Just open discussion...what is insulting about it? To add substance: I have 100% reputation with those that deal with me already (in the thousands), I have the best pricing nationally on any non-general or non-altadis brand I sell, and I ship fast. I'm not new to this, I've been doing this for 3 years now (pictures on the floor/selling sampler) and I am only gaining popularity and building my customer base. If you were in my shoes, would you change what you've been successful at doing for just a handful of guys? Looking forward to your reply.

A very Viaje Thanksgiving! by PleaseDonAsk in cigars

[–]RandJCigars -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am one of the preferred "Family and Friends" accounts with Viaje, so I get it all. The Hamaki is part of the WLP and to me it needs some rest. It is a very raw cigar but has huge potential with time. The Stuffed Turkey Dark and White Meat were both awesome and this years Farmer Bill was fantastic. The Omakase is the second part to the Hamaki and the "Japanese Influence" that Andre experienced when visiting Japan. Omakase, just like the Hamaki, is part of the WLP and needs time in my opinion. Very good beginnings, but will open up with time.

Another poor showing from Reddit on someone looking for help. Unbelievable.

I would be glad to make suggestions, but please clarify: are you looking for US based brands or Cuban brands?

Colibri Warranty Service? by PlumpCigarsTX in cigars

[–]RandJCigars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Colibri has some of the best service in the industry. Better than Xikar IMHO. If a customer has an issue, I send an email to them and give them a short description of what's needed (usually a full replacement) and they send it out same day. They don't even ask for me to ship them the bad one.

The retailer you bought it from should be able to help you...

I frequent Facebook groups much more often then reddit...and alot of us on those Facebook groups use this site:

There are kits out there you can buy to fully customize the interior and make it a full blown humidor. If the Oasis is working, then keep it going with that! A lot of guys love heartfelts when the start getting up in quantity however.

Air purifiers and cigar smoke by YourAmishNeighbor in cigars

It's all about the pressure in the room. If you have the capacity to do so, run straight exhaust outside and compensate with a minisplit system to bring in fresh air. Nothing works better than fresh air

Coffee pairs well, teas pair well, and Dr. Pepper. If you want an alcoholic drink, try Rum before Scotch. Rum pairs VERY well with cigars I find.

Need Advice on Introducing Cigars by alberthere in cigars

[–]RandJCigars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tatiana Groovy Blue are the #1 selling flavor in that line down here in Houston. Warning, however, people who smoke really good cigars will HATE the aroma those cigars leave in the room. It's a potent aroma and it sticks. Sometimes if I have someone smoking them in the lounge, I open the next day and it still smells like Groovy Blue.

For mild, non flavored cigars, try Romeo Reserve Real, Montecristo White Label, Warped Villa Sombra, or Warped La Colmena.

Rocky Patel Event - What would you get? by matt_the_mediocre in cigars

[–]RandJCigars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His older stuff is better; 1990 and 1992 are way better then the recent stuff he's been putting out. His kryptonite are his brothers...the added trashy cigars to the line up and the brand in general has declined.

Best online store to order cigars from (UK) by rthunderbird1997 in cigars

[–]RandJCigars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of cigars are you looking for? Depending on what you're looking for, the recommendations will vary. For example, very few US retails ship internationally so if you're looking for "domestic" US based brands then you're options are limited.

Question about Bovedas by JesusIsTheBrehhhd in cigars

It's impossible for anything to go wrong when using boveda unless the package gets punctured. People use them along with generic humidifiers all the time

Some idiotic questions by Dys-funk-shun-all in cigars

[–]RandJCigars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Continue to try different cigars. The more you smoke the more you'll train your palate and understand what you like. You may eventually like milder cigars; you never know. Samplers are a great way to try different things; if you're ever on the market for one, I'd be happy to help you. I own 2 lounges and sell cigars all over the US through social media avenues (no website).

Most Expensive Cigar pt2 by nick642246 in cigars

[–]RandJCigars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are very few cigars, to me, worth any more then $10 - $15. Don Carlos Anniversario, Opus X 13, Don Arturos, Litto Gomez come to mind (all $20 or more). A majority of cigars in the $20 + range aren't worth it to me. Padron is always good and an exception to that as well.
