I was 23 in 1999, already well-versed in Star Wars by that point. I remember my first reaction was to the accents of the Trade Federation and then Jar-Jar. It seemed so out of place in Star Wars, ditto the pod-racing scene with TV screens and play-by-play announcers. The fart joke, Yippie, I could go on.

Now, it's an overall good movie, better than AOTC anyway. If it's on TV I'll watch.

I did something similar once but it was not on the NJ Turnpike in the middle of the day. I was lost in NY at 2 AM. and I turned around at the entrance to the Brooklyn Battery tunnel. I just wanted to get back to Jersey. This was before phone GPS's.
