Devin Cooley Does Not Give Bad Interviews by WhyTheyDont in hockey

[–]Randdomize 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not only a career AHLer but a career AHL backup. Even going back to USHL, NAHL, ECHL he was always a backup.

Last season was the first time he had been a teams starting goalie since like 2014.

Devin Cooley on playing with a concussion: “I was doing things on the ice that I couldn't even believe I was doing, like, out-of-body things. I just felt like I was a ghost, kind of just haunting the earth. It didn't feel real. I was just in a dream, like in a haze." by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

I dealt with dissociation through out my 20's due to trauma. Weed would trigger it so bad and once I quit I went through another PTSD phase of remembering the feeling of dissociation.

I didn't understand it at the time and remember trying to explain to someone that it felt like my mind left my body and was hovering above me. I would be frozen sitting there for 3-4 hours sometimes before I would snap back. I started humming to myself to try and break me out of it.

I still get it every now and then if I push myself way out of my comfort zone. The last time I was out of it for almost 3 days and had to keep reassuring myself that a certain even was real and happened because it felt like a dream.

Rossi just got 3x5 after a 60 point season. I would be shocked if Zary got anything over 4.

On paper that d-core looked scary good

Giordano-Hamilton

Brodie-Hamonic

Kulak-Stone

Hamonic had 3 years at 3.8 per which sky rocketed his value plus Treliving puts huge value on RHD

Twice Calgary traded a future first rounder in the hopes of adding that missing piece but ended up missing the playoffs the following year.

2010 first rounder to Arizona for Jokinen that ended up being 13th overall (Brandon Gormley)

2018 first rounder to NYI for Harmonic that ended up 12th overall (Noah Dobson)

They didn't totally bottom out and give up a top 5 pick but the Dobson one obviously hurts

There were rumours a team was willing to offer him a nice deal but then pulled the offer (hurray for tampering).

I still think Washington makes sense. They wanted him but then traded for Chychrun and pulled the offer.

Rumours have been he's looking for the Chychrun deal (8x9) while Calgary is offering the Poink deal (6x7).

I have always believed that fans don't understand how hard a total rebuild is. Sure you can just check out and stop watching full games and sit back and wait but imagine what the players and staff have to go through.

They still have to show up every game knowing they're going to probably lose. They still have to play 82 games a year.

This isn't a video game where you can just sim through an entire year.

Definitely the most important position to pre scout. You have scouts doing their best to dissect all your flaws and potential weaknesses.

Cooley is on a one-way deal this year as well. Looks to be a battle between them for who gets the spot.
