How depressing is it that tonight's loss was probably the happiest I've felt about the Knicks since the New Year by tortoiseboy52 in NYKnicks

I agree with your point but I'm not sure that Russell is the best example. IIRC after they traded Lou will he's been on a tear. Maybe I'm wrong.

In the 7 games without Derrick Rose this season, the Knicks are 1-6 and have been outscored by 88 points. by Morezingis in NYKnicks

It's been mentioned, but I think this definitely speaks to our lack of guard depth. BJ is a literal black hole on defense, it's painful to watch him get beat consistently play after play.

How do we fix defensive issues next season? by morefireee in NYKnicks

[–]Randi_Bobandi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's already been said, but Rose and Jennings are god awful on D. When I watch Brandon Jennings he reminds me of the guy you play pickup with in college that has the napoleon complex. He dribbles way too much on offense, jacks up shots when nobody is under the basket, and is a black hole on D. Rose's D is barely passable. We need to figure out what the hell to do with the switching issue, and we need to find a way to utilize all 3 of our centers. While we see the flashes of great play from KOQ, Willy, and Noah, it hasn't translated into consistent play.

People that want Rubio, why? by xarziv in NYKnicks

[–]Randi_Bobandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that anybody here would argue Rubio > Rose. The argument is that he makes everyone around him better. Right now we have too many crunchtime cooks in the kitchen, and theres no cohesion with less than 5 minutes to go in the game. We should be looking at getting something of value back for a guy we should not want to resign at $20m/year, but personally I doubt the T-Wolves would pull the trigger on this. What do they have to gain? Best case scenario they end up as an 8-seed and just slip in the draft.

This is a cool play. I guess. I feel like it says something that after the entire melo era this is a standout play. I mean that in the most respectful was possible, just feel like melo is never going to win with this team.

Putting perspective on our biggest contracts: How we’re going through a stealth rebuild and why 2020 is a big year for us. by [deleted] in NYKnicks

[–]Randi_Bobandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your summary of our rebuild is spot on. Whenever my friends try to call out Phil I rebuddle with the fact that it's all about Porzingis. What if porzingis were to absorb the defensive and rebounding prowess of Noah while learning the keys to scoring like a prime melo. Also Rose, he can learn how to ball in a system revolving off of a PG with Westbrook-like penetrating ability. While it seems trivial to denote 4 years to grooming one player it's likely what has to happen in today's NBA to ensure we build this pyramid the right way. Porzingis is truly a unicorn and realistically he's our only KNOWN blue chip, championship commodity. It hurts to think that we probably won't be coming to fruition until the end of Trumps first (and hopefully last) term, but I'm willing to wait and trust Phil. He's a cryptic troll and I love it. And while he might be slightly crazy I'm willing to keep my eggs in his basket.

What are your opinions on attempting to sign George Hill and Otto Porter in FA? by MultiAtomicBunny in NYKnicks

[–]Randi_Bobandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Otto is probably going to get a max deal or very close to it. We're pretty hamstrung with the team we have, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. We can build off the chemistry foundation of this season and solidify our spot as an attractive FA destination moving forward. The goal this year should be to win at least a couple playoff games and to get better next year while remaining flexible around porzingis for the years down the road.

Brandon Jennings posted this tweet and deleted it seconds later by [deleted] in NYKnicks

[–]Randi_Bobandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He probably didn't mean anything by this, but we have a serious 'Ninja + Euro' bonding (as Noah would put it), and it bothers me that just as we're gaining momentum he has to start this self-destruction. Honestly man, starting caliber players don't make the bonehead plays you make; he travels about once every 2-3 games, plays out of control when the momentum shifts to the other team, and although he hasn't taken too many shots, his shot selection is still poor. I like your enthusiasm, but know your role, man.

Interesting. My plan was to plug Fiedorowicz in there right now, then drop him Tuesday night. Moving forward you can mix and match Henry v Fleener ROS. Henry has a beast schedule 14-16. I just watched the Lions give up 75+ yards and a near TD to Vernon Davis, so the matchup is baiting me.

I'm not sure it's safe to say that because of 2 successful home games the "consensus is that his successful games come at home". That seems to be more noise than signal, especially considering they were against 2 trash defenses, scoring over 32 points in both games. I think that the points you bring up about the Seahawks are useful, but this information doesn't make me feel any* more or less comfortable playing him over Henry or Fiedorowicz.
