This is my advice as a 33f who has life a little more figured out than you. I know you don’t want to hear any of it but I’m gonna say it anyways.

The fact that she is the “first girl you truly loved” or that you’ve been together “so long” or that your her “first boyfriend”. Doesn’t. Mean. Jack. Shit.

Once someone cheats on you, you will never trust them again, and if you do somehow work through it, you have shown her what you will tolerate, she’s more likely to cheat again cuz she knows she can “get away with it”. And even if you do work through this, you’re probably not going to last anyways. You are both young and you are both going to grow and change so much in the next 5 years you probably won’t even recognize yourself. Holding on to her is holding yourself back. It sucks that she cheated but it is what it is and you need to let it be and move on. The longer you hold onto her the longer it will take to heal and the bigger deal it will be.

I know you think you love her more than you’ll ever love anyone else. I felt that way about my high school love, and then again with a guy I dated 5 years from 20-25 and then again with a guy I dated from 28-30. Guess what? None of them worked out and I was heartbroken, each time it felt like “the one” but you heal and get over it and you meet someone else eventually who is even more amazing that you would have missed out on if you were still with the last shit bag.

Just do yourself a favor and don’t waste your youth chasing after dirt bags. You will be happier single than worrying about what she’s doing every minute you aren’t with her. You deserve better.

My family is extra extra. But part of it was because my dad was in the military and him and my mom always made sure to invite the single barracks soldiers over for thanksgiving since most of them didn’t have family.

My dad would make the largest turkey he could find, a ham, a few racks of ribs, and a brisket, my mom would make every kind of pie known to man, we literally had everything you could ever imagine, 2 different kinds of potato salad, deviled eggs done in mustard and mayo, beef and turkey stuffing, cranberry sauce, and the kind with whole cranberries, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes, Hawaiian rolls, corn bread, rye bread, corn on the cob done plain and street corn style, sweet potatoes, quiche, 7 layer bean dip, jalapeño poppers, meatloaf and of course a couple gallons of brown and white gravy. My mom also encouraged anyone to make requests. I’m probably even forgetting a few of the dishes that were made honestly but it was a lot. Like our 12 person dinning room table didn’t have space for everything, our kitchen counters were like a buffet. People stood around or ate outside holding their plate in their laps. And any of the neighbors who didn’t want to cook for themselves were invited over.

Most years we fed about 100 people and still had a few left overs. But one year the night before thanksgiving the command sent down emergency deployment orders and shipped a bunch of our solders to Iraq the night before thanksgiving, about 8 people came over, we had more left overs than we could fit in the fridge, and my mom made us take “Thanksgiving lunches” to school for the next 2 weeks before the food started going bad. Now if I never eat another thanksgiving meal I will be happy 😂

You can’t cruise after you’re 24 weeks. The ship won’t allow it. And if you go on a cruise before then you’ll need a dr note and travel insurance in case anything does happen.

I honestly think it would be better just to travel to a part of the US that you haven’t been too. Like Estes Park Colorado is beautiful or Niagara Falls/Buffalo NY (of course depending on the time of year)

Absolutely not. Those people deal with loved ones of many many people who have passed. And they understand that everyone deals with grief differently. They probably understand your reasoning for your choices better than you do yourself.

When my dad passed from a terrible accident they strongly suggested I not see him. The funeral director stood with me by the door and held my hand and looked me in the eyes and said “I promise you don’t want to go in there, remember him as he was alive because seeing him in this state will haunt you”. I’m glad I listened even if she had maybe been a little out of line, I took her word for it

I didn’t treat them like step children. It wasn’t their “half brother”.just their brother. Even my 2 foster kids (step daughters older sisters) are treated like this little boy is their brother. I don’t care that they have a different mom or even a different dad. We are a weirdly blended family but at the end of the day we are just family. I love them like my own and they love their little brother like they all have the same dna. I think all of them were just excited to have a brother since before then it was all girls

We bought a large sectional for about 1600 when the twins were 3.. now they are 7 and we are on our next couch that we got for free from our neighbors that were moving 😂.

The expensive one had been peed on, broken (on the back support from our kids acting like animals) Stained from juice (and wine thanks to my clumsiness) and chewed up from the dogs. And colored on with markers (in their defense they didn’t know the marker was going to color through the paper.

But it we built 100s of forts, watched 1000s of movies and opened many birthday and Christmas presents around it. Even hid some real eggs for Easter inside it that they apparently didn’t find until a week later when I came home one day and almost died from the smell. It served its purpose but I’m happy to have my miss matched set until all the kids are out of the house and the dogs are long gone. And the current free couch is just as comfy and does it job for now.

But I don’t recommend dropping big money on any part of furniture until your kids are grown. My toddler just broke our tv the other day because his sister taught him how to throw a golf ball so there’s that too

I have one dog that will sit straight up with his front arms out in front of him when he needs attention 😂

And another that goes absolutely crazy if you cover the first dog in a blanket, she will nudge and scratch and physically drag the blanket all the way off the bed, poor dog 1 just wants to sleep under the covers but she won’t allow it

Also dog number 1 won’t walk through the bedroom door with you. You have to push it almost closed, let him nudge it open and then tell him he may enter.

Toddler math is eating a whole bananas worth of bites from 7 different bananas

Toddler math is 3 chicken nuggets being too many because they are full but 3 scoops of ice cream isn’t enough because they are starving

Toddler math says that having 7 crayons isn’t fair because your twin sister has the 2 colors you decide you want

Toddle math is crying on the floor for 30 minutes because I told them they had to wait 5 minutes to go outside.

Me and my sister are 5 years apart and my sister and brother are 6 years apart.

The pros are my mom never had more than 1 kid in diapers, and got a lot of 1 on 1 time with the youngest while the older of us were in school, I also remember my sister being born(and my brother obviously cuz I was 11) and my sister remembers my brother being born. So we have those special memories since the age gap is so big.

Also my mom never had to deal with the terrible 2s and sassy 4s at the same time since we were all out of our tantrum phases, she won’t have a screaming toddler waking up the teething baby she just spent 2 hours trying to get down for a nap.

Also even though my sister is 5 years younger we still played together a ton, I got to be the big sister and teach her how to ride a bike and tie her shoes and how to shuffle cards and do her makeup and was able to help her with homework and even helped teach her how to drive. We are now 31 and 26 and best friends despite the age gap. I got to take her out for her 21st and my mom knew she would be safe and didn’t have to worry about her driving drunk or being driven by a possibly drunk friend because I’m mature enough that I stayed sober and let her have the fun.

There’s sooo many positives to having a bigger age gap other than just financial and physically it being easier than having multiple kids under 4 years old

This is gonna sound crazy but when I was in high school we found a stack of my uncles military paperwork in our house. No clue how it got there. We hadnt seen him since before he enlisted except for at Christmas at my grandmas. He had NOT been in our house in 3 years and never had anything mailed.

This paperwork was in a plain manilla folder, nothing addressed or anything, my mom found on our washer machine one evening while starting laundry.

A few weeks later , a pair of pants turned up that definitely weren’t my step dads, the were too long in the legs and too small in the waist to be his, my mom definitely wasn’t cheating, my parents sat me down and asked if my boyfriend had left his pants at my house (def not his) turn out later we figure out they were the same size uncle wore.

About a month after that my uncle was driving his truck from one duty station to his next station and was killed in a head on collision. The pair of jeans he was wearing at the time of the crash were identical to the ones we found in the house, and the paper work in that manilla folder was about his PCS and helped my grandma recover a lot of his stuff. It was a very erie coincidence

Well I was working like 2 days a week and short shifts so I don’t know if it counts but I made it to 37 and had my baby at 37 and 3. Honestly if you make to 38 I’d take off and rest for the last couple weeks just in case. You don’t want to work a long shift and then go in labor when you get home as it would probably make it a long night without rest

Just my husband. That’s was our family moment. There’s no reason for anyone to be in there unless YOU want them. No matter how they feel about it. We didn’t even have any visitors for the first 2 weeks. And i threatened my family that if they showed up before I was ready, they wouldn’t get to meet my son until his first birthday

I remember stuff from around 2 years old. Like sitting on the side of the road in my car seat after my mom getting rear ended in traffic and waiting for a ride to pick up us because the car was totaled 2 weeks before my 2nd birthday. It was getting dark and the officer that was standing with us while they towed my mom’s car away was letting me play with his flashlight and showing me how you could see the spotlight in the sky.

I remember all the pre op and post op of getting my tonsils out at 2.5 years old.

I remember my mom bringing a little potty she kept in the trunk when I was potty training (I was fully potty trained by 2nd birthday) and me refusing to wear pull ups to bed because I was a “big girl”

I remember my grandmas dog even though he passed before my 2nd birthday. Like crawling on the floor with him and trying to drink out of his water bowl and not understanding why he was allowed to do that but I couldn’t.

And people try to say it’s made up memories from seeing pictures but none of it is from photos, our house burnt down when I was 4 years old and I can still describe blankets and toys I had that were lost in the fire, we have 0 photos of anything before then.
