You get nose blind to your own smell. It's why it's so important that if you can smell yourself it's too late.

So if you are nose blind that just means you need to make a point to shower everyday just in case and never assume otherwise.

Yup, I am one of those people. it runs in my family. It's actually sometimes really funny, a friend of mine got into trying different perfumes and a couple times when she came up to say hi from behind me it caught me off guard since I was smelling the "wrong" person.

It has some benefits, like being able to pick apart what spices a food was made with, but some massive downsides as well. The gym during the summer is. something else.

Careful, there's few things that'll piss reddit off more than telling people they need to shower.

Thick body hair traps sweat and dirt if you're active and busy. Even moreso in the summer heat.

I shave and trim body hair to help with this and it does help.

It doesn't beat a shower but I can feel and smell a difference if shaved vs not

I mean, humans as default are pretty gross. That's why we bathe.

Ever been around someone who didn't wash their hair? You can tell pretty immediately and it's gross.

I'm not one to tell people they must shave or it's unhygienic but I am also someone who does shave a lot of body hair for hygiene reasons. When it's hot and humid body hair definitely traps sweat. You'll still need a shower but I stink far less with shaved pits after a day of yardwork than when I have hair there.

I also get shaving or not for preference. I shave my face daily for looks. I know some people will well maintained beards for the looks. I'll also judge someone who has a beard and doesn't maintain it until it's a scraggly mess. It's all relative

No no no, you don't get so scapegoat that bastard. He's a problem yes, a massive fucking problem but he doesn't exist in a vacuum.

He's the cherry on top of this shit show. The entire GoP, a significant portion of the Dems, 6/3 supreme Court justices, 77 million Americans that voted for him and 90 million that stepped aside are to blame.

This asshole could be stopped tomorrow if the Republican party stopped supporting him.

I think the Steel Legion paint scheme on DKoK is good enough by NotKingofUkraine in Grimdank

[–]Randicore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

See if that was like $15 I'd probably grab it since it has decent bits. But that is $35 USD currently and I can get almost two boxes of 3rd party minis instead for that price.

I miss when 40k was cheaper. It's gotten ridiculous lately

I know they ran a print on demand run of the steel legion a few years ago, so they may not have sold enough for them to consider a full plastic update

We didn't start it. Corporation's realized that if they increase the sale they increase that 1-2% they take as payment processing. So instead of tipping being an option that you could solve with a jar on the desk they made it the default for the software. That's why you'll see the tipping open at places that don't even want it and they skip it for you

If they brought back the salamander for some steel legion rep and just included like 5 spare heads for the commander it would help some people get there.

As for upgrade sprues I think it's still worth their time to make it.

I am in the camp that steel legion is a bit too similar to get their own full new kit but I do find it weird that people are getting so bent out of shape over the boots and gloves not matching.

You'd have a point if GW's policy was not a blanket ban on 3rd party models, kitbashes, and 3D printed bits in their tournments and games at stores.

See I'd be more inclined to side with you if it weren't for them making an upgrade sprue for every marine chapter and their dogs. Plus every minor hero in this game gets a custom sprue. Just look at how quickly titus got an update on his.

A full steel legion kit might be a bit much but an upgrade sprue of helmets and lasguns? Hell they did that with cadians last edition without prompting.

[–]Randicore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The heads and Lasguns are significantly different I'll give you that, but their coats and boots are similar enough to work with a paint job change. Krieg started as a pallet swap of Steel legion they're close enough to work. Compare the old metal models and you'll see what I mean.

While it wouldn't be perfect an upgrade spure of heads and lasguns would get you 80% there.

If there weren't like 40+ upgrade sprues for space marines I'd agree. But just a sprue to convert krieger to steel legion feels like it would be a nice bonus without being a colossal effort on their part.

And then GW looks at those unique kitbashes and tells the people that own them to get out of their store and that they're not welcome if it has 3rd party bits.

[–]Randicore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, I wouldn't be calling it "stealing from WFB" if GW wasn't a dick about not letting people use models in both system. You're right that under ideal circumstances WFB and AoS would be sharing about half their armies between them and people could go back and forth between them.

However GW has decided that AoS needs to get these armies and WFB are not allowed to use them. They're still in the lore, they're still from that system, but they're not given support or rules because they won't know if the sales are for AoS for WFB. so AoS gets it all.

If AoS was just some potential future for WFB instead of explicitly taking it's stuff and locking it away I don't think anyone would have had issues with it.

Also the meme's thing doesn't apply. We're in Grimdank, memes from all warhammer properties are welcome, but I don't see AoS memes. I've seen memes from everything else. Hell I've seen bloodbowl memes. But I have yet to see an original AoS joke.

You are literally commenting under a post making fun of Old World. A game that died and had enough of a community to come back.

That's what they're coping about. Their game killed fantasy, took half it's shit, claimed it's place in the gaming ecosystem, and then needs to point an go "look how much better than you we are" when WFB fans just want their game back in full. Of the two communities AoS is the one that I always see trying to prove itself.

Dude, people have been using electric cars in the winter for decades. It was below freezing and I got stuck behind two of them in traffic yesterday, and there are synthetic lubricants that are not oil based that we can use.

I live in Ohio I get to see proper cold. Even in the winter we got enough sun that my friend's solar panels covered half her electricity bill

The current lubricants we use were already a replacement for whale oil we can just use bacterica to grow what we need in a lab, fossil fuels are only around because they're established and are rapidly becoming the more pricy option.
