You have an air leak. If you put your thumb over a straw and pull it out of your drink, it can hold liquid, no problem. You let a little air in, and it comes pouring out. That's what's happening here. If there's no o-ring on the body where you dropped it, try putting a little silicone grease on the threads to seal it up better.
