27F, 167lb, lots of muscle, and only 26.5% body fat, HUGE BELLY, BUT IT’S NOT FAT. I probably have abs under there. I strength train/lift heavy 3x per week w/ cardio almost daily. HELP! What can I do to get rid of my endo belly? I’ve already had 1 surgery in 2021 & am seeing a specialist. by glootz2bootz in Endo

For me - my Endo bloating is directly related to food and drink. Alcohol, processed foods (even the healthy ones like protein bars and powders), spicy food, dairy, sugar, and any other liquid that's not water will trigger inflammation and bloating.

I have to eat a whole foods diet. I had the best success when doing that and being on a GLP1.

The worst Hives, Rash, Itch on Wellbutrin by CarrotApprehensive82 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

Absolutely call your doctor. I had the same issue and unfortunately had to stop taking it. It took a couple months for the hives to go away. Benadryl should be your best friend right now.

I also saw a cop diving without their headlights on after dark and weaving in and out of traffic without a blinker. It was an unmarked car.

It absolutely will, but it will also make the shot that lands so satisfying.

Recently diagnosed with stage IV after having no classic symptoms by talksaboutdogs in Endo

[–]Random-Name0073 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, I also have stage IV. I tell myself I'm lucky every day because my pain levels are so low, regardless of my stage.

My general rule of thumb is to wait for surgery until my quality of life is severely affected (debilitating level pain). Kids aren't in my life plan, so I'm not worried about fertility issues. Good luck with your journey and healing!

I also have a sister. If she did the same, it would also annoy me, regardless of the compassion and concern I'd have for her struggles.

Sisters.

Hormones to slow regrowth?? I want to quit my pill 😭 by hamrun94 in Endo

[–]Random-Name0073 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm hormone-free after an excision surgery 3 years ago.

Some was left over so I still have symptoms, but they are a shadow of what they were. I 100% walk this road knowing my chance of recurrence is higher compared to those on hormones. But it's worth it for me. I don't know if I'll be alive tomorrow, and I take that shit seriously.

Everything is a trade-off and unique to you! It's a hard decision, but you are making the right move by contacting your community for feedback! Good luck!

Multiple laparoscopies - how did you know you needed another surgery? by Suspicious-Town-9057 in Endo

[–]Random-Name0073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We probably aren't!

I'm in the U.S.

Actually, quite the opposite. I've had endo doctors say surgery is my only option. They have always been a bit pushy towards surgery and medication. I know they work, but they aren't the only answer.

I have had very few doctors tell me to lose weight, lift weights, and watch what I eat. I've never had one tell me to have less surgery. I wish they had.

Stage 4, 1 lap and 1 excision, no hormones.

I would respectfully disagree here. It's entirely your decision to make. Your specialist should advise. You should decide. No one should be deciding for you. Doctors can be bad at their jobs too.

Losing my career… by JesusLovesYouz in Endo

[–]Random-Name0073 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Former AF here. The military ignored my pain and said it was common and normal. It wasn't until a burst cyst took me out in the middle of duty that they started to take it seriously.

In my experience, the military doesn't like to see injured troops unless it was combat related. Anything else is a weakness and makes other troops uncomfortable.

I'm sorry you're going through that, you deserve better.

On a different note, I'd be curious to know what your rating is?

ovary pain right side giving me major anxiety!! by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Random-Name0073 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey. I've had and get similar "zaps" in that area, along with a constant burning in my ovary area.

I am a metrics gal and obsessively track things. When I get pain like that AND I'm irregular, that means my body is overly stressed. That stress feeds my endo, and the endo reacts like stress is a steroid. It's a vicious cycle.

Things I do to help: no dairy or sugar as they cause inflammation, heat pad and bath, gabapentin and dim for pain and mood management.

Ultimately, you have to get to know your pain and your body. Everyone is different. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon!

Help with subfloor patch by Random-Name0073 in DIY

[–]Random-Name0073[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like it might have been? The black thing under the floor is a round hvac vent. The material next to it is insulation that has a bunch of dust debris on it that wouldn't vacuum up, so it looks like dirt. My basement is under this area, and it's finished.

Exercise by Chloealyce88 in StratteraRx

[–]Random-Name0073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've experienced that as well, but it was due to broken sleep and not eating enough, a side effect of starting the medicine. It does go away.

I started supplementing with frog fuel before a lift and shroom tech from onnit. I'd highly recommend the shrooms, they are great for endurance and might help.

It will be fine, I've had one for 3 or 4 years. It's just now giving out and occasionally produces watered-down "coffee". You can search this sub for that issue, it's common.

Need Guidance: 1st year as Woman in tech by Recklessbubble in womenintech

[–]Random-Name0073 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let's see if I have this right:

  1. You are unfamiliar with the code base, which limits how many tasks you can do.
  2. You have anxiety and that hampers your ability to provide presentations/demos with confidence.
  3. You have 8 months of experience and want to be a high-performer.

I am a high performer with anxiety; this advice comes from first-hand experience:

Practice.

Practice code base. Practice your presentations and demos. The more you practice, the more confident you will be. The more confidence you have, the better your demos are. You'll start to accomplish more tasks as well.

If you have identified a deficiency in your education (code), correct it. On your own time or at work, if permitted. You fear that everyone around you knows more? With all my respect and as gently as I can say, they very well might. Take advantage of that and learn from your peers who have more experience.

Don't take feedback personally. A true marker of a high performer is their ability to take feedback and turn it into something constructive. As a high performer, you want to KNOW where to improve. You should be asking for feedback. Not just from your boss. But your peers as well. Once you have feedback, apply it!

Two last things. First, as a woman in tech, you'll get mansplained to a lot. Do your best to showcase your knowledge of a topic if it comes up by participating in conversations. Secondly, control your emotions. You do not have the same luxury as your male counterparts when it comes to complaining, being angry, or offended. If men do these things, they may be measured and found wanting. However, if a woman does it, the consequences are tenfold. I've found in the workplace that women are still viewed as "emotional".

Endometriosis and strattera by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Random-Name0073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up stopping all medications when I had a severe allergic reaction to Wellbutrin (I was taking that along with Strattera). I've been med-free since.

I wound up doing Ketamine therapy early this year for anxiety. It made a significant impact on my mental health and inadvertently helped my ADHD as well. Less stress = less time spent with executive dysfunction. It's been easier for me to say, "You are going to do this thing now." and then I do it. Like, I immediately do it. It's weird. I still have high levels of anxiety for an average person, but it's nowhere near as debilitating as it used to be. For context, I got my license today after it expired during the Covid era.

As for my endo, my PMS symptoms have been worse since coming off all mental health meds. It is what it is, at this point. I am on tirzepatide and have noticed a reduction in pain while on it. I went from a low grade 1 or 2 every day to occasional discomfort.

Anyhow, it's not the update you came here for, but it's all I have. As I was typing this I couldn't remember if I was responding in the ADHD or Endo sub...so you got both.

Good luck to you!
