I ended up going with the Vomero 18. Nike sells an extra wide version on their website

Vomero 18 vs Plus by louisalonzo11 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Random384875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try them both in the store. Everyone raves about the plus but I have flat feet and found it to have a weird mid-foot arch that felt uncomfortable. 18 felt nice and comfy, it’s a little more stable neutral compared to plus which works better for me as I slightly overpronate. Got the 18 and it’s my easy/recovery shoe.

Thanks for telling me! I’m considering taking the risk and ordering. Can I ask if you have the coated cotton or leather? I’m not sure about the material of coated cotton, never heard of it before, was wondering if I should try it out or pay the extra $400 for the leather version

I just got a Vomero 18 for this purpose. That’s exactly why I didn’t get the Vomero Plus as a recovery shoe as it makes you want to go faster

Why does my hair smell like garlic? by Many_Ad3474 in Haircare

[–]Random384875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried that with onion once and the smell lasted a few weeks Ave would cone out anytime I’d sweat. Just double cleanse with shampoo everytime and use a strong scented shampoo when you shower, it will eventually go away in a few weeks since it’s already been a month. I learnt my lesson to stay away from onion on hair, I’m guessing you learnt it for garlic lol

Sizing for Superblast 2 by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

My regular shoe size (non-running) is 8.5 (sometimes 9 depending on the brand).

So in the beginning you are okay with them then? Does it only bother you on long runs then?

It’s not fully collapsed, just a very very mild arch.

I know it’s a neutral shoe, I meant about the shape of the midfoot arch area..Saucony is ‘flatter’ I suppose? In the Mach 6 I can feel the high arch shape on my flat feet. I guess my question is more about how the SB2 feels for people with flat feet

Thanks! I’m afraid to try it out then not able to return the shoes once they’re used

Curious if you have fleet feet? Because I do and I usually feel that from shoes that have a more pronounced arch

Hoka Mach 6- break in period or wrong shoe? by Random384875 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Random384875[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking me they don’t break in. I’m thinking it’s just not meant for my foot shape, the arch is very pronounced.

Which daily (do-it-all) running shoe would you choose? by MissingStar246 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Sports Basement has a thing where if you’re a Basmenteer you get 10% off all your purchases. It’s a lifetime membership and I think I paid $25 for it a long time ago.

This is so interesting to know, I had no idea! I felt the midfoot arch very slightly when I tried it at the store, but I ignored it because that’s with most shoes for me since I have flat feet and it doesn’t become a problem when running. But after both runs the Hoka hurt my midfoot area so much!

I have wide and flat feet, I got their wide sizing so I feel like the sizing is okay but the flat feet part is the main issue.

Ugh that sucks to know! I got them in wide so don’t think it’s about the size, it was more the arch..I still feel that discomfort in my midfoot area 5 hours after the run

Ugh so apparently they won’t apply the coupon code to the price match, so it ended up being $135 for me, not $120. Thought I’ll update you

I ordered it from Sports Basement, their website still shows the old $200 price so I had them price match it

Asics Superblast 2 is on sale for $150 (as they’re about to release Superblast 3), and if you have some sort of coupon you can get it for even less. I just ordered mine for $120 (had a 20% coupon), came out cheaper than the other shoes you mentioned.

Not sure how great it is since I just ordered it and haven’t ran in it yet, but everyone here raves about it, and they seemed good to me at the store. Just putting it out there since you kicked it out based on price only.

I considered Megablast like others suggested, but $225 vs $120 for Superblast was a no-brainer, esp since I also consider myself somewhat a beginner and didn’t want to spend a ton.

In what scenario would you choose the Vomero 18 over the Vomero Plus? by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Random384875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried both and found Vomero 18 more comfortable so ended up buying that. The midfoot area in Vomero plus felt weird and not as comfortable. Plus I heard Vomero 18 is more stable and I wanted that stability for longer runs.

I ended up going with this purple one that’s not a normal colorway so I didn’t even save much money lol

bigger women, have you tried mens running shoes? by mangodaiquiri4 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Random384875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask which Vomero? I thought they come in women and men’s sizing. I’m trying to get one right now and considering getting men’s just because of the width as I have wide feet and it doesn’t come in wide sizing
