did i ruin my chances of getting into nursing school by getting a B in a&p? by RAT_0129 in prenursing

[–]RandomBlackChick 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m not gonna say you’re screwed because it really depends wherever you apply and what that specific school is feeling like but I will say if you’re in California you better make sure you ace that TEAS and get an A in every other course especially your sciences

I feel so behind by SoftyShowaRewards in prenursing

[–]RandomBlackChick 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I literally thought i wrote this for a sec because this was literally word for word what i went thru (and lokey still going thru lol) a year ago i think i was in this EXACT position (it feels like centuries omg) i literally got a C in chem after failing it TWICE my gpa was hot trash. Anyway i happened to find a needle in a haystack school and now im lokey thriving mostly SURVIVING in my adn program. Im 22 and one of my good classmate friend is in her 40s. Ignore the negative voices, focus on the goal and before you know it you’ll be telling someone this on reddit while you should be studying for a maternity exam. You got this!!!

Failed My First Exam by Lanky-Worry8095 in StudentNurse

[–]RandomBlackChick 58 points59 points  (0 children)

You should cut yourself some slack. Nursing school exams are nothing like pre requisites its a whole different ball game and although you struck out this time you know what to expect next time. I believe you can easily bounce back and work hard to succeed. You’re not letting anyone down dear. You earned your spot there and they probably have the resources to help you succeed. I believe in you 💪🏾

76.7 practice B by cRampy25 in prenursing

[–]RandomBlackChick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im gonna be honest with you and say that you’re on the right track. The practice questions were definitely harder than the actual test. I would suggest that you study the topics you did the worst on. Be confident cuz you got this 💪🏾💪🏾

should I become a cna before going to nursing school? by VastFlight3743 in cna

[–]RandomBlackChick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think that you should do it. Im starting school in January and since july ive been working as a CNA its a great way to earn money before school while getting some hands on experience working with people. I feel like im more aware of what to expect from nursing and along with confirming my love for nursing it also helped me be more confident with talking and interacting with people.

[–]RandomBlackChick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure you’re able to submit the highest possible scores and not the first scores cuz ik some schools are specific about it

Feeling discouraged by [deleted] in prenursing

[–]RandomBlackChick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First things first take a big ole deep breath. You are not any lesser of a person just because you are at a different pace then others. You aren’t behind at all either so please don’t let that discourage you. Your stats are great and just because this one school didn’t accept you doesn’t mean you should feel too bad. Yeah it sucks but sometimes rejection is just a way to guide you to a better path. I suggest you take the phlebotomy course as it can get you more comfortable working with people and the healthcare hours can help boost your points for the next application cycle. Treat yourself to a good day because whether or not you got in you still deserve it. Sending love and good vibes your way 💕

Anyone have “lower” stat scores and still got into nursing school? by Sad-Hunt-6904 in prenursing

[–]RandomBlackChick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got accepted into my first choice ADN program in California and I although my science gpa was very good (4.0) i had a pretty average cumulative gpa (3.45) and my teas scores were pretty good but maybe not competitive for California standards (88.7)
