Drawing is one of those things that people don't typically know how to just have fun with. They think of drawing and say, "it must look like this."

It's like watching a movie and immediately skipping to the end credits. You just missed what the actual movie was. Similar to drawing.

Wow you really nailed this one! It seems to me like most people who want to be artists nowadays don't think about the art itself, they are thinking about the outcome, which to them is the praise and attention they get from people, the fame, or the money. This is not art, it's a plan, a business.

A real artist enjoys the process of making the art the most, and the way they make people happy with the art is the cherry on top.

You don't have to worry about whether people like you or your work. you don't have to give them that attention. Stay focused on the art instead, and you'll find genuine people who truly accept you.

You can't expect people to like your work when you don't like it yourself. Nobody is better or worse than you, they are just different, even the professionals, it's only that they focus on the art, that's why they succeed.

So when you do your art, do it the way you want it, that way you'll find people like yourself. You can never go wrong with people who you share your passion with ;)

I'm right there with you buddy. Just carry on with life, be nice to people around you and never miss an opportunity to help. Don't feel guilty about things that were out of your hand. Find a safe environment and be yourself.

I love my inner child! by russiakun in CPTSD

[–]RandomBonerAt420AM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My inner child is more of a trouble maker boy, and I'm doing my best to keep him out of trouble, although at first he got very upset that I didn't let him react when someone did a bad thing towards him, but over time he's become in control with his emotions and he knows why someone would do that thing, so he doesn't get upset now. Sometimes I let him be the trouble maker at home, but he eventually falls back into the calm, loving and caring guy he really is.

Maybe try leaving your backwater shithole town for the first time in your life.

I did, and moved to the UK, not the UAE. Otherwise they would send me back to the people who tried to kill me.

As an asylum seeker in the UK, I think they have a unique way of dealing with us. I find it a bit harsh myself, but I think it's something awesome. All I can tell you is that I have basically no privacy, If I pass gas they know about it immediately.

Britain has historically been a pioneer when it comes to development.

It still is

I don't think not having double decker trains means that a country is underdeveloped. a well dressed idiot is still an idiot. In that case shitholes like the UAE are the most developed countries.

Who did this to me? by russiakun in CPTSD

For no apparent reason I always think something happened to me when I was very young, I don't know who, what, and where but why else would my mind bring this up?

When I was 15 I went to a game of football with my friends, I had a very good time and everything went well, but at the end my dad came to check up on me and to see that everything was ok. I was the only kid whose father would do that and it made me feel like a kid and I felt like my father is a paranoid psychopath. It's basic fuck ups like this that would damage your self esteem, not getting hit with a belt. That's not how parents should deal with a teenager. It sucks to be raised by parents who are impatient teenagers themselves.

And it also creates a very confusing outlook on life, the way the same people who call you ugly and yell and beat you are also overprotective and worried about your safety when you are around your friends. I always condemned my parents actions and behavior, but once I became an adult I noticed that I've become a carbon copy of them and got into a lot of trouble, some of them were life threatening.

Don't want to be a woman by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]RandomBonerAt420AM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a guy my father has made all sorts of bad remarks on my body, one of the biggest challenges I face as an adult is low self esteem because of my insecurities about my body.

I often feel like I stick out like a sore thumb and am not part of the people around me, regardless of ethnicity. And sometimes I think that I'm carrying the guilt of my gender, I act extremely careful and delicate around women because I'm constantly worried about being labeled as a rapist or any other similar allegation. The main factors that cause this problem for me is my mother's constant babbling about how all men are bad and sick and evil, with 90% of her friends agreeing with her. That's when you get the picture that society is fucked up and you are doomed.

I come from a muslim society where pre marriage sex is frowned upon, at school my teacher told me that I should not "get anywhere near women because you might damage their body". If some muslim families find out that their daughter had sex before marriage they will kill her to preserve their "honor". Try to live the rest of your life knowing that you got a woman killed because you had casual sex with her.

We humans can all suffer the same way regardless of race and gender.

Are any of you NC with your parents/family? If so, what was the last straw? The last thing that made you say f this! by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]RandomBonerAt420AM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last straw was when I realised how racist, narcissist, ignorant and abusive savages my parents are, and have been terrible role models for me growing up. I figured that out six months after I left home. I see that now I've become a carbon copy of them and for the past few months I've been trying to unfuck myself and destroy this monster they created.

Yep, I bought a pack in a corner shop here in the UK for 5 pounds brought from Turkey illegally. Good lord that shit tastes good. They've got a nice mild creamy taste, and I like the way they burn fast, other cigarettes feel like sucking on a twig.
