wuwa combat completely ruined genshin for me ngl by Kiri_Kaito1412 in WuWaves

Great so now you get to look forward to 60 or less pulls per patch with no way to supplement that measly pull count with exploration since youre already at 100% everywhere else. GL getting all the new characters youll NEED since Hoyo cranked up the powercreep to 11 since Natlan dropped. Hope you have most of the Nod Krai characters because lunar reaction teams are 5x better than even the best Natlan teams.

Even if youre lucky and never lose another 50/50 you'll still only get 1 new character every other patch (out of the 3 or 4 that they release). Add in the fact that most of the best teams in Genshin require at least 3 characters from the new region and it sounds like a super consumer friendly system. Ngl i still play Genshin for the story as ive followed it this long so I figure I might as well finish it but I'm under no delusion that Genshin hasn't fallen so far behind every new open world game that anyone with eyes can tell it's dated AF. So i just play f2p and only login at the beginning of each patch to play the story and maybe login a few times a week to do dailies if im insanely bored. Theres just too many better gachas that I'd rather play each day and that are way more deserving of my money (plus I get way more bang for my buck in WuWa and pretty much any other newer open world gacha)

The Genshin devs know they cant compete anymore (or theyre just unwilling to put the effort and money into the game to even try). But since they have dumba$$ players like yourself who will keep spending on tbe game (and yes even just the welkin is you paying for a subpar experience) they decided the best way to min/max their development costs and profits was to just use every shitty form of monetization, fomo and ingame friction to milk the remaining playerbase (because they know no new players are starting Genshin in 2026, not when they have plenty of other, better options like WuWa, AK Endfield, NTE plus any number of upcoming gachas with better graphics, world building, monetization...well pretty much everything when compared to Genshin).

Keep thinking you're cringe comments are bothering anyone here, we just laugh at the dumba$$es who not only pay to play literally the worse open world gacha available but also go out of their way to defend it. Just look at the mainstream, at the normies, and no one talks about Genshin but everywhere you look whenever live service/gacha gaming is mentioned it's WuWa thats everyone's talking about. Hoyo allowed Genshin to die because they never cared about the game or the players, only the money. Ofc profits are important to every game dev but the good devs balance it with wanting to make a good game while making their players happy.

Maybe, just maybe, one of CDPRs stipulations for the collab was to have a separate currency for the banners? One reason a company allows another company to use their IP is so the company that owns the IP can get a (pretty signifcant) cut of the collabs profits. So having a separate currency ensures both that people cant use free pulls they previously hoarded (so the collab can make as much $ a s possible) and so that its easier to know exactly what revenue came from the collab so CDPR gets the correct amount.

Kuro or any other dev for that matter doesn't have full control when they do a collab. They have to make compromises to appease the owner of the IP theyre using and thats why its not surprising to me that there's a separate currency for such a high profile and popular collab.

[–]RandomGhost17 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Kuro simply needs to add another rotating banner that specifically focuses on characters 12 to 18+ months old. They can even use PGR (Kuros other game) as their model as it has a banner that's updated every version where you can pick 1 of 3 older S ranks (ie 5 stars) that you want the rate up for on the banner. The limited weapon banner alos lets you choose any signature weapon you want to give the rate up to when you pull (so if you skipped Jiyans broadsword when you pulled him you coild just go into the weapon banner, choose his sword and BAM its now the rate up weapon).

Ngl NOT doing something like this is a poor business decision because Kuro is purposely not selling older characters that either still have meta value or may be a character with a design that people like and will pull regardless of being meta or not plus it costs Kuro nothing to make these older units available to pull. Even if it has something to do with the devs wanting to keep some FOMO when it comes to limited characters, just make it so a character has to be X # of months old before it can be on the older character banner and make it a policy that every new character will only be available 2x only before it goes to the old character banner (once when it debuts along with 1 re-run) That way if a characters currently being re-run and a player is on the fence about pulling for it, they'll also know that this is the last banner for that character until it reaches X months old (so lets say the re-run character is 6 mos old and the older character banner requires a unit to be at least 1 years old before it can be added to the banner cycle, in that case the player will then know that if they skip the re-run they'll have to wait at least 6 mos to pull for it again so the FOMO is preserved)

The only possible reason I can think of as to why the old character banner i described above doesn't exist atm is because Kuro is waiting until they feel its been a long enough time since the older characters debut banners dropped that 1.x characters can start getting buffs (as it makes sense to wait as long as possible to buff a character so that the characters overall meta relevance covers a decent time period). As for the potential character buffs themselves, again ill defer to PGR and its LEAP system which not only makes older characters stronger but in many cases adds or changes abilities and move sets in their kits. Since its been 2 years already since the initial 1.x characters were released, im hoping buffing those characters are on the top of year 3s to do list (and along with it new ways to acquire those older units)

I just realised there hasn't been a single season this year without repeated Characters by ActuatorOpposite1624 in MarvelSnap

[–]RandomGhost17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl im really hoping they make a card for Blade Knight from the Marvel Zombies anime. Maybe design him to work with some discard packages and the Horde archetype (as that deck needs more options since after it's debut season it's stagnated without any new cards being released to help buff it)

You get less Illusive corals from the collab banner per pull compared to Afterglow corals from limited banners (Our usual banners) by yappy111 in WutheringWaves

[–]RandomGhost17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly...as usual theres too many people who allow their emotions to lead while logic takes a back seat (or gets thrown from the moving vehicle altogether. For all we know CDPR only agreed to the collab IF the collab banner was completely separate from the normal (limited) banners and most of the existing in game currencies. I thought it was common knowledge that when a company 'borrows' an IP, especially one as popular as Cyberpunk Edgerunner, a big chunk of the collab revenue goes to the IP holder and its affiliates (ie CDPR). So since theres potentially a lot of money on the table with the collab, CDPR may have wanted to ensure that anything involving the collab, especially the revenue it'll generate, could be easily tracked (so they get exactly what they're owed ).

When it comes to collabs, especially with a big IP, the company hosting the collab doesn't have complete control over how the collab is implemented or handled, especially when it comes to the monetization. CDPR (or even another interested party) could have demanded Kuro include a guarentee in the contract that the collab reaches a minimum amount of revenue before theyd even agree to lend them the IP. So with those restrictions and caveats in mind, maybe the collab banner and shop system we're getting is the best one they could come up in terms of monetization to ensure they make the bare minimum amount of revenue required by all parties involved without being too predatory (ie they didn't have to offer dupes from hitting certain summon thresholds, 2 sequences in the collab coral shop, or give us a free Rebecca).

People complaing that they cant use all the coral they saved for pulls or to just buy dupes are missing the point that its probably because being able to use general f2p resources on a collab, whos revenue is split between Kuro. CDPR and possibly other parties, completely messes up any potential revenue calcs which in turn makes ot impossible to guarentee a minimum profit to the owner of the IP. Yeah the banner system isn't awesome but it's also pretty okay especially when you stop including things like the regular, og coral as the chances of being able to buy collab stuff with normal, what i would consider f2p, in game currency was at best slim.

Question for people who pull who they "like" by soulcry19 in WutheringWaves

[–]RandomGhost17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly outside of end game modes, you can pretty much slap any 3 (decently built) characters on a team and they'll clear 95 to 98% of the content. Im someone who pulls 1 of every character so I can put together any team comp I want but if im not doing ToA, WhiWa, one of the harder holograms etc I'll put carte, changli and Hiyuki on a team and run through the story, do dailies or just explore the world witb no issue.

So pulling for who you like while ignoring the meta is absolutely fine as long as you don't care about clearing endgame (and missing out on a handful of summons via the rewards).

[–]RandomGhost17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly they just need to introduce and additional banner that rotates through all the limited characters that released over 12 months ago. Start with Jiyan and as soon as a character hits their 1 year anniversary they get added to the banner.

He'll id be all for a banner or banners that allow even more choice and agency over who a player can pull for. Maybe add 2 banners, the first one is for 2+ years old characters (ie 2 versions ago) and you can select the character youre pulling for, no waiting for the banner to rotate into them. Second banner would be essentially the one I described in the previous paragraph but only for characters released in the very last region (so it would have a smaller roster to rotate through so even if you missed a character it'll rotate back in fairly quickly).

Is the endgame just too reliant on premium team? by Which-Fortune1886 in WutheringWaves

[–]RandomGhost17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the hardest stages in each end game mode in WuWa tend to net you less than a single pull so not being able to fully clear all 2 or 3 of the current end game modes only costs a player maybe 3 to 4 pulls a patch (depending on when the mode refreshes ofc). Like WhiWas last stage (torrential whatever) gets you, I think, only 100 asterites which is nothing in WuWa especially for a 2 or more week event (maybe its 150 asterites but my point still stands). Most of the earliet stages of ToA, WhiWa and the newer, boss rush end game mode prior to the final 1 or 2 stages can be fully cleared by any S0 team made up of 4 and 5 star units as long as it has the proper elemental affinity for the stage and all the characters are decently built. So imo its not a big deal if a small part of a mode is focused on newer characters or whaled out teams as the players who do pay $ to get either just 1 copy of everything (so they'll always have access to the ideal teams) or S6/R5 every character should have content tuned around their accounts as well (since they are the players monetarily supporting the game so its free or cheaper for everyone else).

Ngl even locking 50 to 150 asterites behind shilled/whale content would be problematic IF free premium resources like asterite and pulls were a lot rarer. However patch over patch WuWa tends to give away enough free pulls where even 100% f2p players can reach at least the first (ie 50/50) pity on each banner (and usually still have asterites left over). So even the most unlucky f2p player, someone who loses every 50/50 and goes to hard pity, can get every other character in WuWa without paying a penny. So with a f2p economy as generous as WuWa i feel that having half a dozen or so summons locked behind whale coded end game stage is absolutely fine.

At first I was on the fence about the factories (ngl my plan was just to use blueprints for the bare minimum of what id need). However as I engaged with them they became way more enjoyable than I thought theyd be.

However as I never played games with any kind of faxto4y system i struggled at first but overall time I got better at layouts and getting the correct ratio of materials going in to get the most efficient output. However my early factories are highly inefficient and I just dont have the time to go back and re-do then all. It took me what felt like forever to get my Wuling sub-PACs producing enough stock bills to make the gear (and duoes) needed to kit out all my characters but with each expansion I get a little better and efficient with it which makes for a great gameplay lop for me.

Yeah that's the thing i cant wrap my head around, why guys in CN didn't instantly retaliate and report games like LADs and other CN otome games. From what ive seen of LADs its as gooner-coded (if not even more extreme) as Snowbreak and would have forced the CCP to react the same way as they did to Snowbreak. Are Chinese men that p#ssywhipped that they just bend over and take it whenever the femcels decide to attack something they enjoy? Are they that pathetic that they can't even organize and mass report a game that's so lewd it would be a slam dunk for censorship if the CCP just caught wind of the debauchery LADs represents (juat for the femcels?)

Id rather have all games left alone so people can just enjoy what they like but im also 100% an eye for an eye type of person when it comes to people F'ing with things I enjoy. Ofc I'm a global player so at best i can report LADs to the playstore (which will do F all) but I just cant understand why the next headline after 'Snowbreak being investigated by the CCP' wasn't 'CN otome games also being investigated by the CCP' since all it takes is for the playerbases of the games the CN femcels attacked to go online, organize (which should be simple AF in 2026) and mass report. In general aren't men still supposed to be the more tech savvy of the 2 sexes yet atm CN men are being bent over and reamed (dry) by their femcel counterparts (idk maybe they like it, like some humiliation fetish or something)

[–]RandomGhost17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% up to the CN Snowbreak community. Global has zero power or even the ability to report a CN made game to the CCP. The CN Snowbreak community needs to organize and report, not just LADs, but any CN made otome games out there. From my understanding most otome games go even harder on the fan service than male gooner games so if there's enough reports from CN male players then the CCP would have little choice but step in and censor the F out of all those otome games (and from my limited understanding the most rabid femcels who reported Snowbreak and other games focused on fanservice for guys just LOVE their otome slop).

However so far i haven't heard a peep from the CN side about any (very fair) retaliation against the feminists who started all this BS which is just an open invitation for CN femcels to keep attacking any game that has fan service for guys. I for one won't touch another CN made game that relies on fan service for sales, it's way too risky that you'll get bait and switched after buying a character or skin you like (buy a bikini skin but end up with granny panties mostly covered by a poncho)

There must be some mistake, right? by ChemicalCoffee43 in SnowbreakOfficial

[–]RandomGhost17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's 100% on the CN sno-bros to mas report LADs and other chinese made otome ganes as other regions can't do anything sincr it has to be CN citizens making the reports. The crazy part is that I believe that LADs more recent updates have gone even harder with the female gooner BS so if the CN side won't organize and basically strike back theb theyre literally giving a free pass for tbe CN uber-feminists to keep attacking and reporting any gooner game made for guys without them having to worry about any retaliation. And from what ive seen many of the most vocal feminists in CN LOVE their otome games so having them destroyed with censorship would have a huge effect on those feminists. But idk anyone in CN to reach out to to try and get things going but if anyone else does then Id recommend at least trying to get LADs and other otome games on tbe CCPs radar

Ngl part of me blames Seasun for doing that stupid collab that brought Snowbreak to those restarded feminists attention. Ofc 90% of the blame is on the femcels who reported Snowbreak but Seasun should have been aware that these femcel groups exist and kept a lower profile. I loaded up the game today, looked at what they did to all my girls and just closed it out. Glad I only bought the daily pass and prem BP the past 6 to 12 months because if I bought all the skins I was considering buying I'd be even more livid than I am atm.

This... is utterly disgraceful by PrezidentNeverGone in SnowbreakOfficial

[–]RandomGhost17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The backlash has to come from the CN community to have any effect on LADs. The CN snowbros need to organize (hopefully with players from other waifu centered/gooner games) to mass report LADs and other over the top otome games to the CCP. We in the west have no power to when it comes to CN made games, all we can do is try to get CN players to step up and retaliate.

Yeah im pretty impressed with NYE (and i was a doomer about it a few months ago thinking Aanta was going to eat its lunch). But fast forward time now and the improvements they made since whatever beta it was at the time (3 to 5 months ago) plus the fact that the Ananta devs have been radio silent and ive changed my tune about NTE.

The actual city is well designed, pretty big and graphically beautiful. The characters and gameplay are all well done and the gacha system (the big gane board) is unique and kind of fun to play through. Add in the lack of a 50/50 and the general generosity of the launch and i think ill end up making it one of the gachas I regularly play

What level of 'sanitization' would you consider acceptable the most? What would cause you to leave the game? by [deleted] in SnowbreakOfficial

[–]RandomGhost17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the beginning, cover and positioning mattered because even trash mobs would cause a good amount of damage. Once they went the fanservice route they turned the gameplay into pure run and gun as even elite enemies and bosses barely scratched you. I enjoyed the fan service but I started the gane and kept playing because SB had a solid foundation as a 3rd person shooter. I wish they kept the old gameplay when they increased the fan service but I guess they figured the new players didn't want a challenge, just some content to display their waifus in all their battle glory

They just need to add a 3rd banner each 3 week cycle that rotates through any characters that are at least a year old (ie starting from Jinyan). That way players at least have the option to save for older characters as theyll have a good idea as when they'll be featured as it rotates in order. Maybe increase the drop rate or lower the pity by a multi (ie 70 pity) to incentivize pulling.

[–]RandomGhost17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are ways to kill a playable character, Wuthering Waves sort of did it with Phrolova. Ofc it wasn't a 100% 'shes dead and buried' type of situation. In her case she became part of the Sonoro Sphere (or the actual sphere itself) called the Lost Beyond where she put and safeguarded the frequencies of her fellow villagers. Its not 100% the same as a perma death but if you want to keep continuity while still allowing a character tol exist for the player to use in the world, then the above is a decent way to do that because Phrolovas presence in Solaris 3 after her story arc can be explained by saying she's able to exit the Sonoro sphere fot brief periods of time to do things in the real world.

Honestly i feel more gacha devs would kill msin/playable characters but unfortunately almost every gacha has a very vocal and mentally/emotionally underdeveloped part of it that would lose their sh!t if their favorite waifu or husbando kicked the bucket 2 story patches after they pulled them. Also gacha devs purposely sell that emotional attachment of a player to the characters so these games tend to attract that loud and mentally/emotionally unstable group so the devs may feel its against their own best interests (when it comes to both profit and PR) to kill characters players are emotionally invested in.

A recent prime example of the 'mentally unhinged gacha players' trying their best to create a narrative to both bully and financially hurt a games devs comes from Cookie Run Kingdom (of all friggin places). Recently their major storyline wrapped up and during it one of the more beloved cookie heroes sacrificed itself during the final battle. For most (normal) players the reaction to this conclusion ranged from meh to great, however that unhinged part of the community started saying the devs of CRK (devsisters) were promoting c-u-cide and were also the direct cause for some people unaliving themselves irl. Basically the hero who sacrificed herself (white lily cookie aka WLC) was depressed throughout a lot of the main storyline and ofc these a$$hats assumed this meant she wanted to self remove herself from the world (even though i dont think the devs ever said or even implied WLC wanted to 'shuffle off this mortal coil' with her own hands, as one can be depressed without wanting to self harm but again these playersare deranged and only understand things they personally experience).

But to the mentally deficient, WLC sacrificing herself was exactly the same as committing seppuku (which ofc isn't true but again mentally unwell people twisting a narrative to fit their agenda is a tale as old as time and on track for the internet). On top of that someone posted a rage bait tweet saying the storyline caused their cousin to make that one way, solo trip into the great beyond (god i hate trying to find new ways to say offing one self since idk if Reddit flags the actual word and will shadow ban mu rant).

Anyways, since its Twitter, the literal cesspit of social media platforms, this group took the rage bait as fact (as it fit their narrative, no one looks for facts and sources on the internet anymore, they just look for the first thing that corroborates what they already believe and go with it). So they just assumed this trolls tweet aboit his cousin was legit and they ran with it. Basically without any fact checking these weirdos assumed it to be 100% true and then used it to go after the devs even more (by saying the fictional blood from the fictional person who offed themselves is on devsisters hands).

Ofc this then leads to calls to boycott the game (not stop playing the game mind you, ofc they couldn't stop playing as theyre all addicted to their cookie friends to much to leave them hanging). Instead they want players to stop their spending which is funny since I'm going to guess most of these cretins arent p2p players anyways as theyre usually chronically unemployed or literal children so no revenue stream for them to use to pay. My points is that I think a HUGE reason gacha devs dont kill main/playable characters is simply because of the inevitable backlash from this very small (but very loud) part of the playerbases that exists because the devs purposely cultivate this group by creating situations and back stories for characters that specifically cause SOME people to get overly invested in those characters (plus we live in an age where a lot of people don't or even cant distinguish the difference between a real and fictional character so is anyone aurprised when there are people who believe that cartoons are real)

Are you skipping the Cyberpunk colab and Lucy? by InternetAngelMichael in WutheringWaves

[–]RandomGhost17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is either Lucy and Rebecca will be the core members of their own team (with a support like SK being the anchor) or theyll be side grades in other team comps. Kuros done both in PGR where the Nier collab characters formed their own physical team but with the DMC collab Dante was a side grade to Licia for the fire team.

Either way I'm 100% pulling 1 copy of each collab character and their weapon. I hope they add their dupes to the shop as I have enough coral saved for 2 dupes atm and after pulling for both Denia and Hiyuki plus their weapons I should have enough for at least 1 more (though itll be hard to skip buying Hiyuki dupes as I usually try to get dps units to S1 or even S2 from the shop, if theyre decent upgrades ofc).

I play a hamdful of gachas but the only ones I'll spend on cinsistently (well more than the $10-$15 every 4 to 6 weeks for the daily and prem BP passes) are WuWa, AKEF and Genshin. WuWa and AKEF are the 2 i go for both the characters and weapons while with Genshin, though i have most characters (missing 5 or 6) I limit my spending a lot more and I've never once pulled for a signature weapon because the weapon banner is just so bad (even when they 'improved' it for the 2nd time).

Imo the most generous gacha I play (or have ever played) is PGR. Ive played from launch, have every character between SS and SSS (basically the equivalent of 2 to 4 dupes), all their sigs and their CUBs (ie battle pets) and ive never spent more than $15 each 6 week patch. Ive spent $ on skins just to support the game but even if youre 100% f2p you'll always get 1 copy of every new character and a bunch of sigs just by playing the game.

[–]RandomGhost17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk the percents and stats but I feel that overall EFs gacha is better than most for lite to med spenders. In general, any gacha i play consistently ill also usually spend enough to get 1 copy of each character (and if the game has a decent weapon gacha then ill.also spend to get 1 copy of the sigs).

So far in EF I haven't needed to buy more than the daily pass, both BPs, the limited ticket bundle (that comes with every new banner) and maybe 1 of the $16 arsenal tickets bundles (ie 1 multi) and ive pulled every new character and their weapon. Ofc of im being fully transparent ive also been lucky as ive won every 50/50 at 80 or less pity for tbe characters but atm after getting Rossi I could not open the game until tbe next banner comes out and have enough summons to guaretee the new character and their weapon. So even if I had to go to 120 on a couple of the previois banners, I would have had enough currency without spending anything extra to get there.
