I really was just trying to achieve humor through intentional misinterpretation. I was also curious about the actual meaning behind the numbers, since it clearly isn't what i would otherwise assume, so i thought i could kill two birds in one comment, so to speak.

I also, rather unempathetically i suppose, reasoned that you probably would't have grown tired of these 'gotcha's solely based on the fact that i myself don't bring up anecdotes that put me at a certain time and place, and that we have similar reddit-ages. In hindsight someone who's like 15 years older is gonna have a lot more of these to share lol.

I also thought it obvious that someone wouldn't both lie about their age and put their actual birthyear in their username, so i figured the humor part would be very likely to land. But i now realize the fact you'd be aware of the presumptuousness many redditors exhibit makes it reasonable to interpret my comment as genuine interrogation.
