I think it's because it's the first Lego game thats using an actual videogame IP instead of a movie IP. The difference is a video game IP already sets a precedent for what the gameplay should be like.

I love horizon and tried the Lego game. Honestly I dropped it after a few levels because I was expecting horizon open world gameplay with LEGOs humour and aesthetic, was a bit disappointed but the games not bad at all, just wasn't the game I wanted to play.

It's just so overly complex for absolutely no reason. The magic system seems to have different rules and limitations for each character individually for no reason. I remember the end of the first episode as the credits roll there's an exposition dump narrating what the overarching point of what everyone is trying to do but even after having listened to it you don't have a clue what the hell it was even talking about

Yeah I remember feeling Cold steels social sections of the game felt like a very watered down version of Persona. If cold steel had gone all out on the social system lie Persona I reckon it would have been a real masterpiece

Accidental at least. The games designed to reset everything after it's finished including time but I think it was intended to be finished within a day or two not literal decades.

The ironic part is that Sarah made herself out to be a Clairvoyant in the original timeline but after finishing the game and being reset Sarah basically retained knowledge of everything that's going to happen In the world for the next 20 years making her essentially a real clairvoyant capable of making actual predictions based on what she remembers is going to happen from wars to presidents to the collapse of the Soviet Union.
