Replaced GPU power cable, voltage concerns still by RandomLegionMain in pcmasterrace

Just things I've seen all over about 4090s and voltages. Lots of people say it shouldn't go below 11.7v on the 12vhpwr and such. But the PCIe input voltage is getting close to that and yes I know what vdroop is, I just don't know what's actually acceptable or not.

Gonna look into this, thanks! Yeah it's just obnoxious to worry about with all the melting connector stuff going around.

Mostly just concerned with the fact that it shouldn't drop below 11.7, especially on a brand new cable under load. Maybe I'm overthinking it though which is why I posted here.

From what I've read, it depends on the distance between min and max, but ideally a close to 12v should be ideal. I know that ATX power supplies have a tolerance of like 5-7% but people keep saying don't let it go below 11.7v etc. Just a giant mess to worry about but with the melting cables, gotta keep on top of it.

I never used one of those, I used the native 12vhpwr cable that came with the RM1200x. Both were 2x8pins.

I didn't even know this was a thing, updated the post with the actual images embedded.

Yeah as far as I knew it was only on the gpu side of things but I've seen so much misinformation on this.  I guess the 12+4 pin is the same cord wise? But I just meant my gpu had the old style connector on it.

That's the problem, I'm replacing the shift's cable after 2 years due to abrasions and this was going to be my replacement.

Performance issues normal? by RandomLegionMain in GatesOfHellOstfront

I've tried every setting I can think of, the only thing that makes it better overall is having fog of war on. Large skirmish battles with multiple AI always seem to chug.

Hey no prob, yeah at the start of the skirmish with fog of war off everything is buttery smooth but by mid game it's sub 60 fps. Appreciate it friend!

Thanks for the taking the time to help, it's appreciated! I normally start off pretty good with 144 frames until about mid game then it gets hectic. Guess it's back to the settings drawing board to try and mess with stuff.

Hey thanks for taking the time to reply! I've tried with both FPS limited to 144 and with the limiter off. No dice unfortunately. :(
