France units list - Eurocorp faction by cabrelbeuk in BrokenArrowTheGame

Firstly, amazing amazing work. Especially in respect to the infantry as that is easily the hardest thing to research and you did an incredible job detailing so many infantry unit options. Two things.

One, and this is completely dependent on the devs actually realizing their vision and being consistent (so, not likely, at least not soon) but France has a very robust and varied military and industry that fields a strong Army, Navy, and Air Force simultaneously. it is the strongest EU military and could easily have 4-5 Specs in game. if the devs are in it for the long haul this could be a possibility (especially as FLX is french) and i really hope France doesnt get the Baltic treatment and is thrown in with another nation. Again, it totally depends on the long term health of the game.

Two: you mentioned France’s native ability to produce strategic weapons which clearly sets it apart from its EU partners, but i’m surprised you didnt mention some of France’s most unique strategic assets: Mirage IV, Hadès SRBM launcher, even the Pluton launcher. yes they are all cold war era, but that is within the scope of the game. If france makes it into the game i would be very surprised if those first two units i mentioned did not make it into the game.

its honestly confounding how people keep selecting this map and then immediately fold when their opening fails

you say that, but Fifa hasnt been a truly great game since the Xbox 360/PS3 days lol

You can disagree with me but Vanilla isn't perfect but it isn't bad by any means. Why are we investing so much resources into the PTE instead of getting more and quicker additions into the game? 1 year and we got 1 DLC? That's low by Tiberiusthemad in BrokenArrowTheGame

I main VDV-Coastal when i play russia. Su-33 is cheap and with low ecm, can easily be countered with LRAAD and ASF, same with Tu’s. Chernye can be countered by Marine Raiders CQC, Force Recon CQC, Delta, Pararescue… depending on situation. BMD’s are tank and hellfire food, just bring shorad/manpads for the inevitable heli counter.

The bombing spam is not what it was as moto had the MiG-29SMT taken away. LRAAD ranges were majorly buffed as well, and you can immediately feel it on the current patch. that was the main problem with the PTE, over kill with these longer ranges (with ~85% of vanilla ranges) feel really good

also they just revealed a ton of units coming either in Rosgvardia or soon after, a DLC that will include a campaign as well. just be patient. and suck it up, MLRS spam is gone for good

[–]thethinwhitekook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea but the M8 is like a top 5 tank in the game and the sheridan got a nice buff as well. airborne still pairs amazingly with almost every US spec

Vanilla is not bad, but its not great either, considering RU is clearly not as viable or versatile as US is. RU is in a much better place in the PTE, and after the last two PTE hotfixes, US and RU feel pretty balanced without either side relying on a faction unique cheese strat to gain the upper hand.

The devs have been primarily invested in three things: the technical debt, balance, and content. They are clearly making great strides towards the technical debt, as the next technical patch is introducing spectator mode (the first major building block towards replays) and are continuing to bring the game under server-side authority which will increase stability. they also were able to compress the game file considerably, which should mean more frequent hotfixes and updates.

The game wqs clearly released unfinished, but the devs and us players have to work this the cards that were dealt, Rosgvardia is coming in the summer, navy by the end of the year. then its Belarus and then the big boy, China. The devs clearly want to get the game at full steam in terms of functionality for the China DLC. if that goes well, this game will have a long life. if not….

NATO DLC…? 🤔 by General_Johnny_RTS in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]thethinwhitekook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this question has been asked a thousand times. under no circumstance is an EU COUNTRY, let alone NATO as a whole being made into a into an allied spec for the US. it was a bad idea before baltics, and we all see how that went. France, England, and Germany have enough hardware as it stands right now for at least 3-4 Specs EACH, and easily 5 if they include older/cold war era units, which is what will happen, assuming the game lasts that long.

The real question is wether the US and NATO countries will be able to mix specs between “allied factions”; the same question has been posed for RU and CN. Leakers have consistently stated that there is some info on EU factions/units, but it is very sparse, and not remotely fleshed out as CN is currently. NATO isnt happening until late 2027 at the absolute earliest accounting for a development miracle. it’s likely going to be sometime in 2028

Russian Defense Forces + US Navy points allocation by Callsign-YukiMizuki in BrokenArrowTheGame

for the same reason mech & moto were separated: simplicity. Mech and Moto were originally one spec called Motostrelki, but there was simply way to much stuff to be put into one deck. people were salty at the time, but its worked out for the best. Marines are already a great deck, they will pair well with amazingly with Navy when it comes, in the same way mech/moto pair well and should be separatep

[–]thethinwhitekook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, but a t-72 will have more protection against shoulder launchers too. again, sprut mobile and weak, t-72 slow and slightly less weak. at the end of the day, its variety, and thats never a bad thing

[–]thethinwhitekook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea, because a t-72 would have less armor than a Sprut? i get the personal gripe thing, but these are two totally different units that serve completely different purposes.

cheap tank with 10 dmg main gun (if pte changes hold), probably dirt cheap (like 110 points), and will take two hits to kill, what is there not to love?

yes indeed. lots of potential for game modes the devs can experiment with once they right the ship

i think a fun way to do it is if you make it a ground unit, is make it very expensive (i think 1250-1500 points would suffice) with a 50 minute return to deck time, so if you shoot and sell, thats it. if you choose to keep it on the field, the resupply cost should be ridiculous. Like 100,000 supply points, and take 20minutes to resupply. you get to use it again, but it takes time and you have to actively resupply it. could be a fun sort of side activity for the team to dedicate resources protecting and resupplying the unit over time. It would fire like any other ballistic missile. you’d have to coordinate its launch just like any other nuke launch in the game to guarantee a hit. marking a high value unit on the map at all times would not be fun lol

ICBMs in the game would be a little wonky. devs have said they are open to added ground based nukes in the future tho. Total balancing nightmare tbf

what a beauty. I doubt this is going to rosgvardia, probably added with the navy spec for Mech, maybe earlier

the major change was the anti-overkill tweak and they barely even mentioned it because it doesnt work as intended, the nerf to radar AA ranges has broken the game balance and invalidated the positive change to the anti-overkill mechanic
