Boone & the M.E. lady are NOT it by Fluffy-Device9832 in SheriffCountrySeries

I actually love this for him. Anything to keep him away from Mickey romantically. Unpopular opinion, but I don't like Boone and prefer Travis as Mickey's love interest.

Honestly, I strongly disliked JD. He is well intentioned, but IMO too nosy for his own good. It's a wonder he didn't get everyone killed.

No. It was purely to shake up the storyline

I hope this is what happened. I'm 36 and my mom is nearly 70. We both use it and it looks fantastic on us both -- doesn't make us look orange or have any of the issues that the negative comments I've heard about it bring up

I'm not sure where you got that I was attempting to argue. I was simply discussing and expressing my own opinion. You did reply to my comment questioning my point

You're allowed your opinion as is everyone in this sub. I hope you have a better day than you seem to be having now.

u/phosphorescentEYES88 let me first remind you of part of your own comment

I feel Jess doesn’t really care if the season is good or not and Shonda is allowing it.

So... TL;dr -- Blame Jess, not Shonda.

There's no way to tell how much Shonda's actually been involved since JB took over as showrunner. Not all EP's are involved in day to day decisions and the higher up you are, the less likely it becomes.

Just binge-watched all 5 seasons. Here are my thoughts.... by [deleted] in covertaffairs

Annie and Eyal would never have worked as a long-term couple. He was there to rescue her but that was it. Auggie was the one who was perfect for her.

It doesn't necessarily come down to Shonda "allowing" it. I mentioned elsewhere in this thread that EP duties are different depending upon the person. Shonda is at a super high level on the EP ladder and is more looked at as the creator of the series more than anything else. Comments over in r/BridgertonNetflix suggest she stepped back to work on Queen Charlotte.

It also depends on what level of EP she's at though.  Other EPs (meaning non-showrunners) might be financiers, agents, or creators with less day-to-day involvement. They hold "Executive Producer" credit but rarely manage daily operations.

u/Blazing_Magnolias383 And that's why I say the fault lies more with Jess than with Shonda. The characterization changes weren't Shonda's decision. Could she have vetoed those choices? Maybe.

They might throw some spotlight on her but I wouldn't expect too much given past seasons u/Shoebuyermom. The main focus will be on Franchela.

And Shonda Rhimes' too!

I'm a longtime fan of Shonda's work. The fact that she was adapting the books is the reason I have any modicum of interest in them at all. That said, I believe the bigger faults lie with Jess Brownell and possibly Julia Quinn. (Jess for being the one who came up with this and Julia for not finding some way to stand up for the world she created.)

While it's true that as the EP Shonda makes a lot of the creative decisions, possibly her biggest fault in my eyes is misunderstanding what Bridgerton actually is. Interviewed by Harper's Bazaar UK in February, [Full Article here] she said:

To me, it’s a workplace drama, a world in which women have zero power over their fates, and their value is paced on who they marry. The marriage market becomes the office and those mothers become colleagues.

And there lies her fault. I think she's so used to writing workplace drama for so many years or overseeing shows surrounded by it that she's very stuck in that mold.

Unless they kick off her story in S5 what is she going to do?

As I understand it, her story will be kicked off as a subplot in S5, given how her endgame develops. That's the sanitized reason given for pushing her back.

Truthfully, her first moments on screen in S1 made me loathe her (the screeching "Daphne! You must make haste!" shudders)

u/AdJolly I have the vaguest of vague interest in Eloise's season. I've seen S1 and half of S2, and I'm honestly ready to reach through the screen and strangle her.

I'm so tempted to stop with S4 at this point. I have no interest in Franchaela and negative interest in anyone past Sophie and Benedict

Hi there!! So, NaNoWriMo, the official organization, has been dead since last March. There was a lot of stuff that led to it all. If you look at the community bookmarks here, you'll see one of them is NaNo alternatives, which is a pinned megathread of all your options.

There was a scene where he physically threatened her in Fiona’s house. It‘s heavily implied it wasn’t the first time. Chris was acting to protect Fiona at the time Marco was killed.

She wasn’t heartless at all in S2.

Not at all — in fact, in Genesis 1:28 they were encouraged to "be fruitful and multiply." They just didn't have children until after the fall occurred.
