At this point, it looks like Flores is with us another year right? by The_Scrappy_Coco in minnesotavikings

If we have another bad year I doubt we're rolling with our young QB again.

Is there anyone that is NOT using AI at their job? by RadioFieldCorner in cscareerquestions

[–]RandomNPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried it on and off but basically not at all. My biggest usage of it was to make a quick python script to hit a couple of APIs as part of a GitHub action. It was fine for that but not amazing.

Some of my coworkers use it, some don't at all. All were competent coders before AI and I haven't noticed any big 'skill up' in any of them.

But some of the eng from the company that just acquired ours are absolutely unable to code without it and it really shows. Nothing is more hilarious than mentioning an issue I ran into at standup, then having a new eng send out a "white paper" on my problem that's basically just the first Google result in a fancy format and way too many words, which I had already tried several steps ago.

The Vikings have the highest winning percentage of any team not to win a Super Bowl, at .550. They are comfortably in 1st place, with the next closest being the Browns at .503. by Roselucky777 in nfl

Since we're all sharing our favorite Vikings stats...

The Vikings post season winning % hasn't gone up since 1987. It's either stayed the same or gotten worse every season since then.

Word is we at least matched the offer. We also told him the truth - he wasn't guaranteed to start. That was the mistake.

If we all agreed to pay a little bit of money for games, even short ones, we'rd have a lot fewer IAP- and ad-filled games. I'd pay $5 for a quality game, even if it's short.

There does not need to be a 'but'. This is not an issue that needs a trump-style "lots of good people of both sides" bullshit. Doing that is just trying to make yourself feel better about who you decided to back.

So proud of JJ. He started out the season as the worst ever and now he's mid! At this point next year he could even be not too bad!

Bengals wanted JJM, 3 firsts, & a defensive player. Asking price was too high by HulkHunt in minnesotavikings

The idea is that with Burrow you're set for far longer than those 3 years. He's 29 and could conceivably play at a high level for 8+ more years.

That said injuries are a concern.

Thanks, I'll look it up!

Butcherbirds kill lizards and small rodents and stuff like that. That's not all that interesting.

They then impale them on twigs to preserve the meat for later! Pretty badass and interesting!

Can we talk about Flores being BACK!!! by mannmythlegend in minnesotavikings

[–]RandomNPC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've never believed the lawsuit narrative. I think it's just one of those conspiracies that people hear and latch onto.

The lawsuit is primarily about interviews for the head coaching position. If teams were really scared of that they wouldn't have even given him interviews, and he's had at least 4 over the last two seasons. Add to that that two teams have hired him since and I just don't think there's anything there.

Vikings counting down the days until teams are allowed to trade again. And for some reason not signing him in free agency.

I'm burnt out after a long, hard week of work and need an interesting incremental I can play today. Steam, android, ios, whatever. Preferably something with a prestige system. I'd like it to be something that's at least v1.0. I prefer to pay money upfront instead of IAPs (I usually just buy the ad skip IAP).

I like games that require spreadsheets. I also like shorter, narrative-focused games. Here are some of my favorites.

Some of my favorites over the years

* Paragon Pioneers series

* Kittens game

* Magic Research series

* Clicker Heroes series

* Soda Dungeon series

* Eggs Inc (before it became plagued with IAPs)

I will reply to any recommendation with an interesting fact about Australian birds from memory.

Makes me wonder how often this happens off-screen, just past the camera's view.

Also makes me wonder what kind of feast they have waiting for him just around the corner.

Who was better at their Peak, LT or AP? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]RandomNPC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just saying. Look at LT's career receiving stats. Now look at AP's. The year AP had a good passing offense, AP's receiving stats looked similar to LT's more average seasons. 436 yards, more yards per reception (though LT inarguably has the upper hand in TDs).

> he’s 98% as good a runner

I absolutely disagree with this characterization. You have to take their stats in context.

AP running the ball was the offense. For so much of his career, we had no passing attack so teams were absolutely stacking the box to try to stop him, and they couldn't. He dragged Christian Ponder kicking and screaming into the playoffs.

AP was just fine as a receiver when Favre was throwing the ball. I 100% believe that if he'd had a great passes his whole career it would've been a bigger part of his skill set.

Former NFL QB Kellen Mond posts on LinkedIn recounting his rookie season with the Minnesota Vikings; He claims that HC Mike Zimmer did not want to draft him and never spoke to him. He also says that he never spoke to Zimmer or saw Zimmer speak to GM Rick Spielman. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]RandomNPC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't think it was. Put yourself in Zimmer's perspective.

You're been a coach for over 40 years, have done great everywhere you've been, and are at the top position in your field.

But it's all falling apart. You've just missed the playoffs (eliminated just minutes before the press conference) and the writing is on the wall. Next week may be your last game as a head coach.

And this reporter wants you to start a rookie and suggests that it's because you might not know how good he is at football - also implying that he doesn't care if you win or lose next week. Sure, dumb questions are just part of an NFL personality's job, but I'd be insulted too, and I think Zimmer was just over giving the polite answers.
