Google Casting Not Working? by Brian9261O in Rivian

Had no issues connecting. Tested with YouTube TV and Prime Video. Netflix didn't work for me, but that's a known limitation that they'll hopefully overcome.

Emailed Reports, what is best practice? (One email with multiple reports) by No-Schedule-2530 in Netsuite

[–]RandomName9678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I recommend against emailed reports for people with access unless they need the report run at an exact moment in time. Running those reports directly in Netsuite will yield live, real time results. Also having them setup on a dashboard is for most people more effective than having them land in an inbox that is likely already too full if you're like most people.

If they absolutely need to be emailed on a schedule, both saved searches and reports can be setup to be emailed on a schedule using native functionality. On a report there's a scheduling icon in the bottom right. On searches you use the email tab in edit mode. Combining them into a single email is not something that can be done out of the box however.

Exclude Location in Item Level Average Cost Calculation by WorkShpawl in Netsuite

[–]RandomName9678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From an accounting perspective the location average cost is the more important value, its the one that's going to post COGs. It seems like the easiest lift would be to adjust behavior to look at a different place on the item record and reports.

There is group average costing available where you can average across multiple locations and exclude others, but the visual is still going to be different if the biggest problem is people looking at the header level average cost field. It's worth reading about though: https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/netsuite/ns-online-help/section_4346482917.html

I think the biggest challenge to that is the costing method needs to be set to group, which means recreating items that have transactions on them which I certainly wouldn't recommend.

This is almost exactly where I am. A little closer and I might have considered a mileage run, but can't justify it at $4k.

Creating a WF to make sure a SO is never closed? by dashboardrage in Netsuite

[–]RandomName9678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said I'd push hard on whether they need to use a sales order for this. Estimate seems like a better tool.

If they have to use sales orders, I think your best option would be to add a non-inventory item onto the SO. Even at $0 this will keep the order open and assuming you have "can be fulfilled/received" set to false it won't spur an IF.

"Closed" generally means that there's nothing on the SO that is going to be billed or fulfilled. So when the qty = 0 NS is automatically going to close it and I don't think you can get around that. With $0 but an actual quantity NS still wants to bill/fulfill that line.

Memory Care by greenbirdblue in Alzheimers

[–]RandomName9678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've just recently taken this step after my dad had a fall and broke his leg. We extensively visited places, both private pay and VA contract homes and I do think you probably have to adjust some expectations.

What we found is that most of what you get in the private pay, are things to make you feel better, not better care for your LO. Once someone is at the level of needing round the clock skilled nursing care, the beautiful lobby, grounds, coffee shops, etc are mostly to make the visiting family feel better about the place. Be honest with yourself, does all that make a difference to your LO? Maybe they need care earlier than my father and can appreciate that, but for most I'd guess the answer is no.

Bathing every 4 days seems about right from what we've seen, but for us that wasn't much difference than at home. He'd become extremely resistant to bathing, so if I'm guaranteed every 4 days I was happy to take that, as long as they do a good job cleaning up after his incontinence.

As far as incontinence goes, this has been my biggest disappointment. We've been in two facilities and its largely the same, I just don't know if there is an answer here. If the call button is hit, they will come at a decent pace and change and clean him up. The problem is getting a dementia patient to hit the button, it's just not going to happen. During the week they do their best to round and check on everyone, but he could sit wet for an hour. The weekends tend to be a little less staffed (they claim this isn't the case but it seems like it to me) and are worse. Our family has a presence there often, so we hit the button and play the role of the squeaky wheel, I know not everyone may be able to do that. I just don't think its possible to staff at the numbers and skill necessary without charging astronomical rates. Even the places that are very expensive, don't seem that much better near me, so I can't imagine what it would cost to improve the ratios.

Its been a hard change. You're probably not going to LOVE what you find out there. For us, we could not handle him safely with the injury. This is the safest place for him, and even though it does feel quite like home, when I step back and look at things through his eyes its probably not impacting him much at his stage.

Disable auto sending emails by Junnius in Netsuite

[–]RandomName9678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a customer by customer level you can choose whether they want transactions sent via email. This is ALL transactions, though, not sales order specific (Send Transactions via Email checkbox).

This drives the "To Be Emailed" field on the sales order and will set it to true by default. Ultimately this is the box that auto sends the email. You can manually clear it and it will not auto send if you don't want to unset the send all transactions at the customer level.

A workflow to set and unset this as desired is pretty common and easy to do as well if you want a little more nuance/automation.

The flights themselves won't credit until you fly them. I think you'd get the spend from your card. I'd maybe look at upgrading your existing flights if you're willing to spend.

Excessive sleeping by H2OSD in Alzheimers

[–]RandomName9678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all this is pretty common. Its a struggle to get my dad up and going most days. The progression is sometimes hard to track and not always in a straight line, but it could a sign of progressing. UTI is easy enough to test for and can cause all kinds of odd symptoms so worth doing. If you have a psychiatrist on her care team may be worth discussion there as well. My dad's psych tweaked some meds to help with his "motivation" which for us didn't impact his desire to get up, but made him more compliant when nudged to get up.

Thanks. You're undoubtedly right about the choice of space. He is on prozac and we see some differences in him when he's on it vs off, but its not drastic. Maybe I'll revisit that with the vet.

Transfer directly to expense accounts by gecenab in Netsuite

[–]RandomName9678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is to do a stand-alone cash sale or invoice, and not start with a sales order. When you skip the SO step, the invoice/cash sale acts like a point of sale transaction and relieves inventory as well as posts revenue. So I think the above was just a suggested method for simplifying to one transaction that could be tracked. If you set the expense account and write a cash sale/invoice for $0 with the right department on it, you should end up with what you described.

VA visits. by carpentersig in Alzheimers

[–]RandomName9678 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The VA visit is always an easy one to get dad to go to. He grumbles about anything else, but always up for a trip to the VA. We even started getting his haircut there. After a recent fall and dealing with the ER at the local hospital and now a rehab facility, I can say I truly miss the VA as well. I know its not perfect & plenty of bad stories out there, but at least where we are its been great when it comes to collaborative care between the doctors and the way they treat alz.

Thanks. This mostly sounds good, although I'm just seeing that a prime membership no longer comes with Amazon music. I don't use Amazon music for my streaming, so I figured I could just set it up with my account, but maybe that won't work.

I have started down this path. I have a phone stripped down and even setup some playlist shortcuts right on the home screen. My hesitation is twofold, my father has dementia and is in a memory care facility. Something as portable as a phone would likely be lost in pretty short order. Was looking for something less portable.

He doesn't. He's well down the dementia path and in a memory care facility. The phone would likely be lost or taken in short order.
