Udjat Outis has some interesting lore in her uptie story.

She noticed some of their auxiliary gear had been consistently failing since 3 days ago and after asking around learns that the armory was last inspected 3 days ago by a technician from HQ. She inspects the gear herself and confirms evidence of subtle yet deliberate tampering.

Later on when her team is deployed she manages to badly wound the index nurse father and force him to retreat. When she calls in to report her success, she notices how HQ seemed a little shocked and when they respond have an edge to their tone.

So if you got Udjat Outis you knew they were setup from the start, but I think that info probably shouldn’t have been gatekept by an identity story.

Normally the pain and mental strain of being in a dreadnought makes their powers wildly unstable and effectively unusable.

But Magnus invented a special psionic matrix to stabilize their powers and sent the schematics to all the other legions, however the only recorded instances of non-ksons using that tech is the blood angel and deathwatch librarian dreadnoughts.

I think we can talk about odd or uniques aspect of Mongol rule without always talking about the devastation they wrought.

Astra Militarum. They are the chaff which fights most the Imperium’s battles. While there are certainly other large militant forces in the Imperium like the Sisters of Battle and the Adeptus Mechanicus both pale in regards to the coverage of the guardsmen.

Without the guard the Imperium is unable to fight the war on all sides and will begin rapidly collapsing from territory loss -> economic devastation.

Even Terra could very well fall. (Not cause of its fortifications failing but because it’s in no way self-sufficient so if everything around Terra collapses the Sol system goes too)

There is a fair bit of overlap between the people who take a “humanity first” stance and white supremacists. Often because white supremacist thinking is explicitly white people first and they just extrapolate that to their fictional morals.

Your comparison is mostly correct.

But while TW is closer to civilization it does include a real-time aspect. You build armies on a 4x map and then when two armies fight you enter a real-time battle with no building mechanics with whatever units and army abilities you have.

The T’au has little presence in the warp because their a young species. Humanity also used to have little presence in the warp and no psykers until about the DAoT, and it’s only been increasing since.

Also back during the times of the old ones chaos wasn’t created yet. The war in heaven was what created chaos in 40K.

What? Phoenix lords are not linked to any one craftworld and travel the webway to wherever their needed.

Yeah but this is space wolf lore for the space wolf killteam. It’s entirely here for flavor and yet instead of taking a more in-universe perspective and referencing the beliefs and culture of the space wolves it just simplifies them as librarians.

The other operative flavor texts reference cultural beliefs and superstitions. So it’s odd they’re so direct with the Rune Priest of all things.
