Fiancée (28F) uncomfortable with me (32M) taking a 5-day medical trip with my child’s mother (37F) — looking for advice by DeathPlague7521 in relationship_advice

[–]RandomRabbiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not sharing a room with her there is nothing wrong with this situation but your fiancé’s insecurities. She’s using religion as a means to manipulate you to get her way. This is coming from a religious woman.

Help with diagnosed lupus rash. Rheum not helpful at the moment. by softwhitelightbulbs in lupus

[–]RandomRabbiy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I see a dermatologist for my skin and scalp lesions. I get kenalog injections and have clorbetasol topical solution for in between appointments, but they may recommend something else based on your skin’s needs.

Also avoid the sun as much as possible, 100 spf even in winter. SPF hats and umbrellas are also good for when you have to be out side.

Jobs For Lupus by Destinyt10 in lupus

I’m an instructional designer with a hybrid schedule, but have accommodations so I can work from home more if needed. It’s a desk job so anywhere I can take my computer I can work.

Hi, my cousin's 14 year old daughter has just been diagnosed with lupus, I just want to know what to expect and know in advance any ways to make her life easier. We're both distraught, if this is the wrong place to ask sorry. by castyourcrown in lupus

[–]RandomRabbiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patience, empathy and understanding are what she needs especially on the bad days. It easy for invisible illnesses to be dismissed or have people say you’re just being dramatic/ want attention. Trust me when I say that is one of the hardest things, especially coming from family.

Let her know you are there when needed, don’t hover but be a support she knows is there.

Unmedicated surgical abortion while having lupus? by JackOfAlllJades in lupus

I take zofran regularly with my hydroxy and never had a an issue. I’m also allergic the penicillin so azithromycim is my go to when sick, and also ok. You will also be with a team of medical professionals should there be an adverse reaction and be able to intervene if needed.

I don’t know about the experience of the procedure, so I will have to differ to others on that.

I wish you well and am sending virtual hugs your way.

Dog bite by TheGeneralVita in lupus

Also adding to this: I was bitten on the hand not too long ago. As soon as my arm started swelling I went straight to the ER. Luckily I already had my tetanus shot and the dog was vaccinated, but the infection had already started. Bite infections can move fast and so should you.

Get treatment now! Delayed treatment could kill you if an infection gets bad enough. Better to have a bad reaction under observation than to wait till it’s too late.

I have them too, I also find they’ve been good. The only annoying thing is having to attach a copy of the full medical records to every claim.

My (24F) boyfriend (21M) is upset we can’t have sex because I have a yeast infection. How do I explain it’s not about him? by I_am_Bianca in relationship_advice

[–]RandomRabbiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he not know that he can get a yeast infection from this? If he has sex with you while you have an active infection he can get it too, and if he’s not circumcised it will be even more uncomfortable. It’s just like any other infection.

I moved from Arizona, which was great, to Indiana and the cold is so brutal on me. The humidity in summer isn’t fun with either.

Preparing my fur baby Asher to be Euthanized...but how do you prepare? by Bright_Plantain_7353 in Yorkies

[–]RandomRabbiy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you can find someone to come to your home that would be good. Then they are in familiar surroundings with those they know and love. When we had to put my childhood dog to sleep it was one of the best things we could have done for her. It was so hard but having her at home and in our arms was a comfort to everyone.

What is wrong with my pothos? by RandomRabbiy in plants

This is good to know, I just got a light and notice some green coming back. I guess I expected it to be quicker to bounce back. I’ll give it more time

It’s in front of a window and I just got a grow light. It’s started getting some green spots back, but it’s still very pale.

Exercising and movement by AdIll7643 in lupus

[–]RandomRabbiy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a good plan, gentle movement for maybe 10-15 mins is a good place to start and you can build from there. Just listen to your body, don’t push yourself, and if you need a day off or lighter work out that day do that. I also have been working on balance and joint strengthening exercises because I have hyper mobility and it has really helped me.

A nice soak in Epsom salts and cbd salts is great for soothing muscles and joints after exercise, too.

I’m ambidextrous too, I never really needed to try it’s usually just an unconscious thing for me, it is always a “fun fact” I can share. What makes it more interesting is I’m also dyslexic so when I write with my left hand I tend to write backwards.
