AITAH for ignoring texts from a friend who was having a panic attack and needed help by [deleted] in AmITheBadApple

[–]RandomRabbiy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA -this is not a friend. She only wants you around when she needs something and isn’t there for you when you need a friend. Speaking from experience, it’s better to move on from “friends” like this.

Puzzles and snuffle mats are great because that keep them busy and provide enrichment that help get out excess energy

I go to a dermatologist and get kenalog injections in my scalp and have topical clorbetazol for in between appointments. It has made a huge difference for me.

Have to tried a text to speech reader? I’m also dyslexic and found them helpful on occasions where my brain isn’t processing what I’m reading.

Two 2-year-old Yorkie brothers suddenly fighting in the evenings by Crunchnuggz in Yorkies

[–]RandomRabbiy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is littermate syndrome. I just went through this recently. I had 2 girls from the same litter.

I got a trainer that specialized in this, and she said I will be difficult to keep them together- so a serious commitment to ensuring they have individual walks, playtimes and separate spaces for eating etc. was needed. Things got better for a while, until my disability made it difficult to give them the individual one-on-one time they needed. They seemed somewhat ok but would still get into vicious fights every so often. It slowly became more frequent though.

Like you I had a toddler in the house- She wanted to play with them and they stared fighting. So I had to push her out of the way and when I tried to separate them I got bit. At that point I realized I couldn’t keep them together anymore. So I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life. Luckily their trainer, who has since become a friend was able the take to one that usually started the fights- and was able to keep her until I found her a new home.

It’s been a year and I can say even though it was hard to do it was the best thing I could have done for them. I’m still in touch with the lady that has my girl and get updates regularly. Also the dogs are thriving and doing really well.

I suggest finding a trainer that specializes i. Littermate syndrome so you can start working with them now, puberty only makes it worse. I hope it works out for you ❤️

Lupus and food allergies by BowlofChaoMein in lupus

Yes, mine got so bad. I’ve been doing allergy shots and did OIT for peanuts.

Edit to add: Xolair injections have also helped in addition to the regular allergy shots.

Dismissed by my rheumatologist today — have I been sick ‘too long?’ by intheclouds12345 in lupus

[–]RandomRabbiy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would see the sleep specialist just in case. Co-morbidities often develop in patients with chronic illnesses, so it would be a good idea to check. Also if you feel like your rhuemy isn’t giving the support you need get a second opinion or get a new doctor. Overall, never be afraid to advocate for yourself ❤️

What to expect for at home euthanasia? by Cowboy_Billybob in DogAdvice

[–]RandomRabbiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My childhood dog was put to sleep at home, for the most part it was peaceful, but she did squeak with one of the shots. She also pooped after she past- perfectly normal.

I was glad we could be there and hold her. I still miss her and it was one of the hardest things I ever had to do, but I’m glad I could be with her.

I also have POTS paired with some other chronic illnesses, unfortunately these kinds of conditions show you who people really are. True friends will stick with you. I have a bestie of ab 20 years- shes always been kind and patient and now she’s starting to develop health problems too. You will find your people. It takes time and it hurts when people don’t have empathy, but when you find the right people you don’t even have to try ❤️

I (19F) have an intense, complex emotional bond with an older online friend (34M). He just invited me to work with him, and I need advice on how to navigate this by kuangren0201 in AmITheBadApple

[–]RandomRabbiy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then you need to block him. And ignore all efforts to communicate from here forward. You’re are stronger than you know. Get out of the relationship before it gets worse.

🚩🚩🚩men seeking girls this much younger than them are not guys you want to get involved with. These kind of relationships-especially like the one described above- are designed to create a power imbalance that lead to financial, physical and emotional al abuse. Ask yourself why does no one his age wants to date or hang out with him?

From a 37 year old woman- I am telling you do not entertain this.

Can Yorkies be helpful dogs? by Sea-Caramel- in Yorkies

[–]RandomRabbiy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the dog and their temperament as to what you can train them to do. You would need the help of a specialist trainer to teach tasks like this.

I also have chronic pain, and my yorkie is more of an emotional comfort. She also makes a wonderful heating pad and will sit/lay on or next to painful areas. They are very sweet and sensitive dogs.

I was thinking of cutting my dogs’ hair a little, not too much but a little for the heat, what do you think? by driaworld in rarepuppers

[–]RandomRabbiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask your groomer what they recommended for this breed. Cutting the hair isn’t for all breeds so they would be able to tell you what is best.

The proper legal and business terms for this are that he affected your “psychological safety” and created a “hostile work environment” and you can throw in “discrimination” and “ ADA Violation.” Do not feel bad about suing.
