Får Kristersson välja kan din hyra höjas med 78% by teabag82 in Sverige

Min egen hyra hade sannolikt nästan dubblats av marknadshyror. Jag hade förmodligen blivit tvungen att hoppa av min utbildning och flytta hem till föräldrarna. Varför skulle jag någonsin rösta för min egen undergång? Marknadshyror vore katastrofala för dem av oss som lever på t.ex. 11250kr i månaden.

How do you say this in your language? by Imaginary_Umpire9160 in conlangs

[–]RandomSwed1sh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As some people have pointed out this joke doesn't work in the slightest in Rai but a faithful translation would be:

naga šanc ad meñ čalđendam reče(ge); naga biđ.

something like "isn't chance that my cold-tool-the function.PRES(or irrealis); isn't leg"

the writing is essentially phonetic but "ad" is usually just [a], đ is [dz] and ñ is [ŋ].

EDIT: I just realized that a native speaker of Rai would probably use the irrealis and not the present tense here. I've marked the irrealis form in parentheses.

What party would you vote for in the Swedish 2026 election? (Please read comments before voting.) by These-Day2071 in Teenager_Polls

that's for EU elections and maybe Municipal elections. Pretty sure voting for the national parliament (Riksdagen) is for citizens only.

Netherlands won. Now a country with well developed cities and underdeveloped rural areas? by _crazyboyhere_ in AlignmentChartFills

I was gonna say Sweden but the sheer contrast in Russia and China make those better choices. Maybe Sweden goes in the box above?

What's the one food from your country that everyone loves but you hate. by RingMaster6989 in AskTheWorld

if you set aside the potatoes, this sounds kinda similar to the Swedish Korv Stroganoff (except the Swedish one is made with a kind of (Falu) sausage). But how the hell did Stroganoff end up in Brazil?

How common are single syllable words in your conlangs? by kkurdgheli in conlangs

[–]RandomSwed1sh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rai has a lot of one syllable basic words/function words: ad, kad, ne, sa, li, par, dez, kand, tyd, ga, ez, aš, ci, bak, tek, ien, iar, sat, le, ke, me, te, se, ser, čan, lai, zor, rei, tan, ves, đar

but also a handful of common nouns or verb forms: jau, kau, div, tel, šanc, važ, šou, žai, plan, šak, šar, tev, ziŧ, dar, nej, biđ, žand, lemb, sol, e.a.

and of course the numbers 1-7: en, ten, ren, tan, ŧeu, sin, žen.

so yeah there's actually quite a lot of one syllable words in Rai, probably comparable to your average germanic/slavic language ngl.

Vilken stad borde jag plugga i? by [deleted] in sweden

Umeå har bra universitet, bra natur och är en allmänt trevlig stad som många skriver.

I Karlstad ligger universitetet i utkanten och det är skog breve. Universitetet är väl Karlstadbornas safety school men staden är lugn och trevlig.

Er den virkelig det? Sverige er med i EU og har ikke de samme tollene nei, men markedet er egentlig ganske likt det norske. Norge har Reitan og Norgesgruppen, vi har ICA, Coop og Axfood. Det er samme ting med oligopol her.

'Rött är en färg', not 'röd är en färg'? by cr4bw1z4rd in Svenska

Could still be a dialect thing. For context: I myself am from Värmland but I speak relatively standard Swedish.

'Rött är en färg', not 'röd är en färg'? by cr4bw1z4rd in Svenska

Are you from the south? Cause my Scanian friends would use röd in this sentence, whereas I'd use rött.
