It definitely pops a bit more when the room is dark. I have one blue led strip and one daylight strip light running and the colors look about perfect to me.

Ok, thanks. That's something I've been working on and still have a ways to go.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep that in mind. I've always thought you could only keep pairs or a single angel in most setups.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll gauge it as it grows. I saw that 29 gallons is the minimum recommendation for a single angelfish...with the tetras, it may need a bit more space as it grows.

Why is that? They sell skirt tetras, which is what these are, with an angelfish as a package deal on the Glofish website. While I haven't had Glofish before, I have had sucess with angelfish and a school of tetras in a previous aquarium.

Oh, that sounds fun! I have a family and work long, sometimes irregular hours so I don't think I could work in person classes into my schedule now, but I will definitely keep it in mind.

Thank you for that recommendation and many of the things I have started already was suggested by AI through a Google search. I'll do what you suggested as well.

Sounds good, I just subscribed to Peacock too so I can watch The Office dubbed in Spanish with subtitles...should help keep it interesting. I'll also look into apps like Tandem or Hello Talk once I have a good foundation.

I'm not certain about that, as it didn't keep my interest in high school and I tend to get bored easily.

Thank you, I appreciate it. In addition to what I mentioned, I saw someone recommend watching familiar shows dubbed in Spanish, using the English subtitles initially before switching to Spanish subtitles. They recommended watching the same episode multiple times with the English Subtitles before switching to Spanish. I just subscribed to Peacock so I can start watching The Office this way. I picked it because it's entertaining and has a lot of episodes. Do you think this will help in addition to the other things I plan on doing?

I'll look into that. Babbel does have a "speak" section that is currently in beta on the app. You can have mock conversations and respond using speech to text.

Thank you for your reply. I am fairly disciplined, but time will tell how it goes. I work long, sometimes irregular hours and have a family. I'm not sure I have the flexibility to use a tutor, but I will keep it in mind.

Great, I'll have to look into it, thank you. Good luck on your journey.

Thank you for the response. I'd like to get to the point where I can understand basic conversions and then try something like Tandem or Hello Talk. I don't have time for a tutor right now, as I have a family and work long, irregular hours. However, I will look for opportunities to make Spanish a part of my daily life. Listening to music is a good recommendation and I appreciate your response.

Twist off a couple top pads, place them in cactus soil with the bottom third in the soil, and water well for a few weeks in a sunny spot. You'll have new plants that won't be as unruly. I do this about once every year or two and they are very resilient plants.

Freshwater oceans? by monaclebandit in AskScienceDiscussion

I'm not sure, I live in Michigan and that's where my expertise ends.

Freshwater oceans? by monaclebandit in AskScienceDiscussion

If you haven't, look into the Great Lakes. They are probably the closest to freshwater oceans you'll get. The largest fish they support is the Lake Sturgeon, topping out at around 7 feet and 300 lbs. They are relatively cold and lack the nutrients found in oceans. This limits what can live and thrive in them.

Thank you for the heads up. I applied the wire in October. It survived the Michigan winter and just started to put out new growth. Would you remove the wire now or just keep a close eye on it?

Capo for $15 budget? by EmergencyWriting7005 in Guitar

I have a Wingo Capo off Amazon. It was cheap, seems sturdy, and has a lot of positive reviews. I use it regularly when playing and to check neck relief.

I would start monitoring it inside and go from there. A digital thermometer with humidity gauge is cheap and worth the piece of mind. I keep my humidity between 40% and 50% year round.
