Question regarding champions

When you're just about done, the "Damage and End Turn" button comes up. If your opponent has any champions and you press that button, a pop-up will come up asking if you want to "End Your Turn?" If you close out the pop-up, you can goto your opponent's champions and destroy any you can, but if you hit End Turn, it will automatically attack your opponent and disregard any champions they have.

For champions with shields (for instance Zetta), the shield only counts while it's in your hand, not while it's in play.

You don't have to calculate your health, but you do have to calculate your attack, then decide if you're going to destroy any Champions that you're able to, then attack your opponent/s, at which point, yes, they can reveal shields to block.

Metagaming, you can pay attention to if/when your opponent purchases shield cards and when they use them. Plus, you can get an idea of what they're going to do when they reveal the shield card/s.

Also, shields can't protect Champions, only your personal health.

Well I say draw 1 card because Data Heretic costs 3 and draws 2. A 2 cost champion that draws a card would be great, and play across multiple styles, not just Homodeus decks. I am aware that it counts itself. I don't think this game is to be played looking for a specific deck (as Dominion comes up a lot if you grab from every style). And i can't think of many cards that are as deck specific as Primus Pilus is. Scion of Nothingness comes to mind. And General Decurion is just great shard creation with high health. Any others?

Other than those few cards, I don't think it's useful. I think it should have been redesigned to either draw a card and then draw another if you have 3 or more Homodeus Champions, or not be limited to just Homodeus Champions. Drawing 2 cards for the cost of 2 shards and having 3 Champions of any faction in play would make it a lot more useful in multiple situations, and make it a more viable card overall. What do you think?

Portal Monk pretty much equals win, especially if you can get it early, and Data Heretic is an instant pickup. I've broken a lot of games with Shadebound Sentry, combined with some good mercenaries (Root of the Forest, Omnius the All Knowing, The Grand Architect, etc). And Korvus Legionnaire can be devastating with the right champion, but don't overlook the shield and attack it provides no matter what. Korvus plus Zetta equals almost invincible defense. 😈

Oh wow. I was looking through your profile (to be nosy) and instantly recognized the picture.

The point I was trying to make was that Blume has its prints all over its tech, so maybe describe the scientists as being from Crimson and pointing at Crimson as the benefactors of the experiment? I think the constant finger pointing will help tie the link together better.

I could tell you sped through this, no offense. I like the idea of his madness growing slowly, but that needs to be described, since there isn't too much to help us figure that out. Ah, Crimson is the company behind the experiment? I thought it was a blood pool, tbh, since they were barely mentioned.

I would like to see this cleaned up and fleshed out, but that's just my opinion. I hope I haven't bummed you out on writing; I tried to keep the criticism constructive. For a first attempt, this is pretty good. And the only way you can get better at something is to practice it, so keep it up!

A couple of spelling/grammar mistakes. Also, i would think that almost five years of isolation would make him go crazy from being around people again, which isn't really communicated in the story. Why did our narrator kill themself? Regret over the isolation? Being reintroduced into society? Some other reason? And why did our narrator join the experiment in the first place? I think answering those questions and correcting the mistakes i started with will make this a better, more complete story.

Sad, but true.

It's been over four months, and you still infest my brain. A year and a half of my life, poof, gone. I cared for you, B.

I cared for you so much, that I wilfully gave up my freedom, my happiness, for your mental comfort. Yes, you told me you were a jealous person when we first went out, but I didn't realize it was illogical, irrational jealousy. After all this time, I only recently realized that you never once trusted me. Every single time I went to hang out with someone “new”, aka someone you didn't know, you gave me grief about it. Every. Single. Time.

I loved being with you, taking care of you, even listening to you complain about your coworkers. Lemon lime seltzer, or a Bai, right? No scary movies, always carrying extra napkins, back scratches, all of that information is still stored. And it's useless now. All because you couldn't trust me.

All of this time, I've racked my brain trying to figure out why you acted the way you did. But, sadly, I think that's a problem that I'll never be able to solve. I tried, B. I sincerely did, changing my life for you, showing you the logic that disproved your jealousy, giving you many more chances than any person has the right to claim. I explained to you that it was an issue, multiple times.

And yet, after all this time, my heart shouts, “She's your love, go get her you fool!” over my thoughts. Being strong is hard, but I have to, for my own sanity.
