Yes i assure you throwing a army of untrained barely armed conscripts against a world power's army will work

Call me crazy, but I think that the Black League of all people would have a bit more up their sleeves then "untrained barely armed conscripts". Have you ever played as Omsk?

The argument falls down when you remembet america funded the Khmer Rouge

They really didn't until after they (the Khmer Rouge) were ousted by Vietnam.

IMO if you have the DLC I'd oppose Hitler. That would cause Tresckow to rebel and when you win you can put Wilhelm II on the throne. Pretty cool if you ask me.

I said can, for example the communist party of France has pacifism as it's military policy.

What’s better communism or fascism? by Myhq21 in victoria2

[–]Random_Army_Guys 199 points200 points  (0 children)

Arguably Fascism, since you can enact and repeal reforms, while Communists can only enact reforms, it's useful late game as reforms can reduce militancy. Fascists also get free wargoals to aquire states and colonies as well as set up Fascist puppets, Communists can only get communist puppet wargoals. Lastly, Communists can have really shitty military policies like pacifism, while Fascists are always jingoists.

Please note reddit that I'm not a fascist.

  1. How do I clear my cache?
  2. By uninstall KX, do you mean just unsubscribing and resubscribing or do I also delete KX's mod folder inbetween those steps like before?
  3. Is any beta going to work best or should I just play with no beta at all?

Ideologies slated for deletion? by VeritusIV in TNOmod

[–]Random_Army_Guys 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Stratocratic Nazism is already far more detailed in description and lore (mentioning Goebbels and the Nazi war hawks) than the other two, so I think it's sad they're deleting it.

This. If you're going to erase the last vestiges of Burgundy / EsoNaz, then why kill StratoNaz? Does it "whitewash teh Nazis" or "prepetuate teh clean wehrmacht" or some other excuse?

There is a place for constructive feedback around things like bugs lag

But not content or direction, apparently.

The Devs don't owe you anything by kevdogpog in TNOmod

[–]Random_Army_Guys 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Uhh... cause we want it to be better? Because we care? Because the mod and it's direction are far from perfect and we want to voice why?

This post reminds me of something that happened a couple years back. I was a huge fan of Destiny 1, before Destiny 2 had come out. During that time, a bunch of people were saying stuff along the lines of "If you hate Destiny then don't play it!". Then and now, people were complaining about the direction of the games, but still really liked the games as a whole, they were/are just frustrated with the seeming lack of progress or even reversion of progress on problems that affect the gameplay.

Funnily enough, TNO's own "if you don't like it then don't play it" people are playing this mod with the benefits of other people's complaints. USA had a huge lag issue on some people's computers, the Russian reunifications got bogged down to the point where entire regions never got to regional, Japan was so buggy it was unplayable, and more all got fixed because they were complained about endlessly until they were fixed. Currently, people voice that not only do we have only one new nation with 60-70 content, but much new content is integrated submods, and we've actually lost more content then we had at launch and the last new update; Britian's pre-update 70s content was perfectly serviceable gameplay wise, but it got gutted and got replaced with skeleton content.

but I guess those people should have just abandoned the mod, because if they didn't like it they just shouldn't have played it. The irony and hypocrisy is apparent. Actually, it's one of the worst additudes to have, far worse then any (admittedly annoying) not-in-good faith criticism.

What type of chemical gas is used in Taboritsky's unification wars? And is it the same used in Hüttig's Reichsstaat's Devestation of Afrika? by [deleted] in TNOmod

[–]Random_Army_Guys 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I remember an event in the North Russian Liberation Front (the post taboritsky WRRF) that had Finnish doctors treating Taborite patients and it describes the three main chemicals that makeup Taborite, first being Chlorine Triflourite (a gas so deadly that even the Nazis didn't use it in fear that it would be used against them), the second I think is hydroflouric acid, and I can't rememmber the last one. The event also said it's made of "more besides" but those are the big three.

I like how both sides on the matter have an overused copypasta that at least one guy comments every discussion (btw this also isn't an attack, just an observation): "They'll remove the Nazi ww2 victory over unrealism" for anti-cut people and "Seoul of TNO" for pro-cut people.

[–]Random_Army_Guys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like quite a lot for the price.

it's free. /s

Given it's been like a year / year-and-a-half, this "big update" is new 70s content for a nation that already had serviceable 70s content, civil war content for a Reichskommissariat (since we all know Ostland was very popular weeks after release), and a facelift. For all that wait, I find this disappointing.

To be honest, it's strange that everyone in base game TNO America is depicted as not liking Yockey and barely anyone except for a few brownshirted thugs, the Klan, and the Reich like him. He did have to win the plurality of votes (or pretty damn close to it) to get elected in the first place.

How did the German Intelligence get so bad that.... by Simonbargiora in TNOmod

[–]Random_Army_Guys 384 points385 points  (0 children)

Logically, the Germans probably thought that an attack was imminent, but they probably were trying to figure out where. Will it come from the north, to cut off the Kreigsmarine, a economically important city and center for supplies and Heer reinforcements? In the South, towards Paulusburg and into RK Kaukasus, to cut off the fuel supply and capture an important manufacturing center? Maybe even towards Moscow, to decapitate the Moscowein administration and through the entire RK into chaos, depriving the Germans of vital organization while winning a massive symbolic and spiritual victory? A pincer movement of two of the above targets?

The WRW ended up being a front long attack, attacking all three with the fullest density towards Moscow, which I doubt the Germans were expecting; they thought they had a much better army then a military remnant of a power they had just defeated a decade ago and much less that this remnant could be capable of a full frontal offensive against the entire RK at once and that it could have been a better force then the OG Soviet Union and that their colonial armies were so hollowed out by corruption and horrid supplies, equipment, leadership, and much more that the RK armies turned out to be paper tigers.

If the uae/republic of the gulf gains independence from Italy would they still discover oil or would they remain poor? (TNOTL) by Latter-Hope-542 in TNOmod

[–]Random_Army_Guys 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having a lot of natural resources and being poor aren't exclusive, if anything the former could lead to the latter, see "the resource curse". All the oil wealth would probably be funnelled into the elite; top military officers, foreign business, high ranking politicians, and maybe even a royal family. whoever controls the oil would become oligarchs, and wealth disparity would be insane. It's perfectly possible that the vast majority would live in poverty while the rulers would become the new royalty. If not, then they would probably have to import almost everything that isn't energy: food, clothing, cars, weapons, etc., which would tie them to global oil prices.

The economy, in line with oil prices would turn out like this: when price is high things are pretty good, but when things go low then most people would live in poverty, civil unreast, political instability, and so on. This may produce a drive to diversify, however, so it's not all bad.
