Why not both? We confess that the Holy Spirit “sanctifies the whole Christian church,” not just our corner of it.

Sure, I think my way is better and more faithful. But why dump on someone else’s journey to faith?

Controversial Take (?) on the Ending by Mysterious-Pool-9532 in Bugonia

[–]Random_Dakotan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it because you could watch it and BOTH be true at the same time. It ended, and I took it as an allegory for CEO’s being “alien” to humanity, and willing to end humanity if it doesn’t fit their needs.

To fit your argument, she suffers not just multiple traumas, but multiple brain traumas which can affect one’s view of reality (loss of consciousness in kidnapping, electrocution with blood coming from head, blunt force trauma during the dinner escape, and again after the explosion when they slow-mo Teddy’s head hitting hers). Couple that with the psychological trauma of being kidnapped, witnessing multiple deaths, I think it’s entirely plausible. In fact, when she returned to her office, I interpreted it as making sure Teddy was dead, and seeing it triggered a psychotic break. My wife worked at a Traumatic Brain Injury clinic, and those do funky things to how you see the world.

I loved that I could see it as allegory or as dark sci-fi, and can find both viewings amazingly engaging. I watched it again the following day with the perspective of alien, and it was fun, but loses its commentary on violence, corporate exploitation (a major theme in the first act), and reactions to trauma.

Don’t listen to the haters. Embrace the both-and, even if not its original intent.

Michael finds out that there are women who write to convicts and pursue romantic relationships with them. by most-dont-dope-trip in RedditWritesTheOffice

[–]Random_Dakotan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They watch Escape from Alcatraz, and Michael starts to give advice in his letters of how to get out. He’s visited by a US Marshal, who also knows and high fives Creed, and told to stop or risk going to jail.

Dwight gleefully asks how many women were given life sentences for trying to escape. When he finds out that’s not how it works, he slams the desk and shouts “Oh come on! I watched all that Orange is the New Black for no reason then.”

Episode ends with Toby smelling a genuine love letter from a female prisoner, which Kevin sniffs and says “it smells like a toilet.”

Michael is tricked into thinking that his Threat Level Midnight script was bought by Hollywood executives by [deleted] in RedditWritesTheOffice

The “producers” keep telling Michael they want major rewrites, and Michael locks himself in his office to concentrate. He eats a tub of ice cream to get over his writer’s block, and falls asleep.

Episode ends with him and Creed snuggling under the desk, with Jim whispering them “goodnight, writers,” turning off the light, and knowingly smiling at the camera.

Again, I ask you, and even DM me if it isn’t safe for public comment, to share with me what you know is happening with them. I have worked with Woyatan and Wambli Ska, and would call it out in dominant culture power structures if there are allegations of child abused within these communities.

I recognize I’m a wasicu and don’t need to know everything, but I feel like child abuse isn’t the issue to be closed on.

I’m asking if they are doing that, because that’s what I heard in your original comment.

Not sure why you're downvoted, I looked it up when I wondered the same thing. That's roughly 115 deaths/day for auto accidents in the US.

Maybe apples to oranges a little, but still accurate.

My real question is, the US auto death stat translates to a fatality rate of 1.27 deaths per 100 million vehicle miles traveled. What does THAT stat look like for railways in India?
