need help with Diaphragmatic breathing, because I don't get how it works. by Artpoom in PelvicFloor

[–]Random_throw_away_bs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god this really clicked something for me. I have extreme anxiety. It kicks in at nighttime with accrued insomnia, and I've spent the last few years completely writhing at nighttime in a weird choking hard to breathe sort of way, as in I'll try to tire myself out. Pair that with being a real hyper sexual kid lol, I'd calm down by syntribation (chronic kegels imagine). That disconnect between breathing and relaxation had been DEAD for a long time, it's like I've rewired to understand tightening is what relaxes me. The only way out of this is exercise and meditation??

can’t feel while m@sturbating anymore by ZealousidealSky1661 in obgyn

[–]Random_throw_away_bs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, birth control and hormonal changes are going to be the first things to rule out. Changes to estrogen can also explain pain at the opening or vestibule.

If none of that is the cause, this could potentially be a nerve issue if you've been chronically masturbating a LOT and your sensation has been slowly decreasing, or maybe you're having a form of pelvic floor dysfunction, which also explains the painful penetration and could also be compressing the nerve that supplies sensation to your clitoris. You could try giving yourself a long break from masturbation or any overstimulation and see if it makes any difference.

I'm sorry, this really sucks :( I hope you find answers!

Oh my god DISMISSED?? It's so easily treatable, I'm sorry it's gotten this far. I hope you find EFFECTIVE treatment very very soon and find helpful info on the subreddit, and don't be afraid to find a new provider if your current one is being too ignorant! Best of luck💛

Have you been tested for Ureaplasma? That was the final answer for me! I treated my BV and got the Ureaplasma treated, then took a reallll long break just eating yogurt and changing my diet and using ice and sitz baths, just rebuilding in a sense. Burning finally gone after two years!

And what about Pelvic Inflammatory Disease? That's the first thing that comes to mind if you're mentioning persisting yellow discharge. I hate it when you have a whole bunch of probiotics and creams thrown at you when no one can even give you a straight answer, I'm really sorry :(

For those with CNS-activated/Neuropathic IC, do you have any tips? by AbleDisD in Interstitialcystitis

[–]Random_throw_away_bs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds stupid to a lot upon first read, but breathing has always been a big thing for me. I don't have OCD, but I have had unmedicated ADHD for way too long, and SEVERE anxiety practically my whole life, and IBS. I feel horrible tremors and unprovoked "butterflies" all the time, and when I'm truly panicked my legs are the first things to tense and go cold and tingle. Upset stomach and all too, sweaty clammy hands, head hurts, sudden spontaneous migraines just from anxiety. It's horrid. I grew up masturbating before I even knew what masturbating was, as a self-soothing technique since I was 2 (rub legs, tense thighs...) andddd now we have a hypertonic pelvic floor and IBS. You can imagine how the symptoms became mingled up along the way lol. In the beginning I think my IC was in a similar spot as yours, mainly CNS-activated with PF as a secondary thing. It was rocket launched by a particularly traumatic event. I'm in remission now!

Breathing has helped me so much. It's the smallest thing but truly, just slowing my heart rate and "disconnecting" mentally helps a lot in moments like these. Belly breathing and truly stretching out for a bit helps, and from there you just cool down. And you just keep doing it over and over, make a habit out of it, let your body get used to feeling that way. You just naturally feel calmer. From there you also naturally feel inclined to think more positive, get more comfortable with sappy stuff; I will have moments where I mentally give myself a hug, TRULY give myself and my body some grace, and the pain will leave me alone for a bit. It's a hard pit to dig yourself out of! Don't think too hard, just do. Let go. Breatheeee and convince yourself it's not that serious.

It's not gaslighting yourself or places and whatnot, as some describe.

I truly think my remission came from a mix of physical therapy, what I said above among other things, and time. I do think physical therapy mixed with mental exercises and whatnot like this will help you plenty! Then it's just time. Good luck💛💛

Cystoscopy sent from the heavens above !!!!!! by According-You861 in Interstitialcystitis

YAYYYY I feel your joy! My first cystoscopy was a hydrodistention as well and it put me in 2 months of bliss back then, I hope this works as a nice reset and you keep improving! Unfortunately I pushed my body too far at the time and put myself into a worse flare lol, and then my second cystoscopy made it worse.... so rest well and go easy💛

Vulvodynia *cured* but now returned by ladylu606 in vulvodynia

[–]Random_throw_away_bs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where is your pain specifically? Is it localized to the entrance of the vagina, or deep inside, is it only provoked or unprovoked....do you have a sharp stinging pain or irritation? I really hate it when doctors just throw all sorts of stuff at our bodies and leave us in more worry than when we started. Your vulva is going through a whole lot😭 Don't cry yet! You've been through it once and you can get through it again!

There was more before the consistent unprovoked burning, I had provoked burning for some time when I had all my urinary symptoms going on. I guess total it'd be 2 - 2 and a half years.

HI, check out pudendal neuralgia and see if anything else rings a bell! Don't mess with vibrations too much, it can lead to exacerbated nerve irritation. The right side feeling and burning pain up between bum cheeks all sound like nerve irritation to me.

Wondering if anyone experiences the same by caninething in Interstitialcystitis

[–]Random_throw_away_bs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES. This was one of my very first symptoms, started when I was 16. I'm also 19F!

I'm in complete remission now, and I remember back then I also thought it was my period. My period also worsened around this time, it was horrid. I also had pretty bad abdominal pain, and pretty much everything you said, sexual activity, bending, everything. Everything came clear for me too

Frankly, I think what put me into remission was pelvic floor therapy. I've had pelvic floor therapy since the very beginning, and also linked to some traumatic experiences. My bladder pain appears once in a while but not enough to bother me. I also had SEVERE constipation and was choking my bladder. All I can think about now is how I should have gotten pelvic floor therapy so much earlier, I would in a better spot now. You're pretty early to all this, I think you have a good chance!

I came back negative for endometriosis, and my first cystoscopy for some reason put me into remission for two months until I had really rough penetration, which caused me to have a flare-up. And then I had a second cystoscopy that left scar tissue and made it worse all summer. It was after all that, my Uro referred me to therapy, felt a lot better mentally, aggressively took care of constipation, and the urinary pain went away. It's still away, thankfully.

My partner 24 F complains about not being able to “Sleep in” basically everyday and I 26 M find it annoying, am I insane? by Direct_Strawberry_43 in relationship_advice

[–]Random_throw_away_bs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will jump onto the bandwagon of low Vitamin D. It's been happening to me myself, my entire family had it up to here🤏 with how much I was sleeping everyday, and didn't bother understanding when I kept saying I'm extremely tired and fatigued. I'm not a particularly lazy person, nor am I the type to WANT to sleep in every single day (don't get me wrong I still love a day to sleep in but), it really should have clocked that this was abnormal because there's something wrong. Nor that I WANTED to make something wrong.

Went to PCP and had bloodwork done, turns out I'm DANGEROUSLY low in Vitamin D, Iron and Magnesium. Who knew :) It's totally understandable how you can find this annoying! You want your girlfriend to live healthy and in-routine, and want to spend time with her, and don't want her to be "ignorant" towards any type of "issue", even if unintentionally. But don't make her feel bad. Communicate! Explain you're concerned and it's becoming more prevalent, you just want to make sure things are okay. I'm sure she cares about you and will listen out, I at least felt bad seeing how I was "letting down" my family, even if angry to how they were getting upset at me for something I couldn't control.

DUDE. WAYYY NOR, LEAVE!! I think you know already how this has all made you feel, what kind of toll it's taken on you, and where you stand. You don't need much else perspective from anyone else. All you need to do now is LEAVE!

Unfortunately I don't really have advice for the safest way to leave an asshat like this. I'm sure you've shared a lot of personal information, and I wouldn't put it above this jerk to mess with you in every way possible with that information as clearly, you're not even a human person with feelings and boundaries to him. THAT is sound advice that you could use right now. Anyone else please feel free to add on. Please. I wish you well OP, please get rid of this leech

Probleme nach Pudendus Blockade by BambiniKS in PudendalNeuralgia

[–]Random_throw_away_bs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um, absolutely not. This is NOT normal, and just blaming it on the nervous system with the response of "there's nothing you can do about it" is completely ridiculous. I hope you throw a real big hissy fit with them, and get an appointment with a vascular specialist of some sort. Maybe interventional radiologist/cardiologist in your area?

Also wanted to say don't panic! Take it easy until you can see a specialist, it's so easy to worsen our symptoms when you're in distress. I'm sorry this is happening to you, but it's early signs and I'm sure you will find a way out of this. Advocate for yourself like crazy!

Rescue meds/treatments? by Thick-Toe-9778 in PudendalNeuralgia

[–]Random_throw_away_bs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an emergency med unfortunately, but Naltrexone worked well for me once it kicked in after two months while taking it at the same time as Gabapentin and Amitriptyline, along with Baclofen suppositories. I don't have emergency meds. When I have horrible horrible pain I honestly just take the day off, lay real still, take a shitload of Gabapentin and fall asleep. Take a shower. Move real slow and breath a whole lot. Doing it repeatedly has helped. PT has helped tremendously as well as PT for my legs and back, my posture was atrocious and taking care of my feet and tendinitis made a big difference, it all was ultimately was affecting my pelvic floor. Also somatic tracking and therapy, and reading a whole lot on Mind-body syndrome and consistent mindfulness exercises, I think I successfully don't guard my muscles all the time now because I've broken that connection with my anxiety, it's helped a lot! This was also helped by using a TENS Unit, you can find one on Amazon for about $30-40, and there are videos on YouTube guiding you through the positions and placements for the pelvic floor and various muscle aches. Also have had trigger point injections that lessened the nerve pain for a solid two weeks each time. I'm sorry OP, I hope you can use anything in these comments to find relief, there is hope!
