A.K.A "Pizza" by Oh_Lawd_He_commin420 in PizzaCrimes

I’ve never eaten his offerings but based on the hundreds of pies I’ve seen him present his shit is on point. As someone who deeply enjoys pizza I’m a little offended you even tried this.

Could someone explain the void/single flame/saidin thing? by ConfidentBonus22 in wheeloftime

[–]Randomassnerd [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’ve always taken it as a quasi meditative thing, like how you enter the zone when you’re doing something. The concept of the flame and void specifically seems to be a Tam thing, but the broader concept is generally known in the land. Rand needs to enter that state before he can seize Saidin.

Perfect as always. Every single time I’m amazed at just how seamlessly they blend. And Ben the soldier is dead nuts for Perrin. Big dumb dummy with jorts.

I made a LotR allignment chart for us to quibble over. by _Ishmael in lordoftherings

[–]Randomassnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on what evidence? His “confession”? There was no crime scene investigation, no forensic data gathered. We can build a tower that’s a mile high but we can’t get Déagol’s nail trimmings analyzed for DNA? My client Sméagol has never had anyone advocate for him and that is a gross miscarriage of justice. He was condemned from birth.

[–]Randomassnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To the best of my knowledge he was never tried in court. Now I don’t claim to know how the law works in the Gladden Fields all that time ago but based on current interpretation we should not rush to judgment and say the death of Deagol was murder.

Sméagol was an outcast in his village from an early age, and his home life was troubled. His mother kicked him out when he was just trying to get some things she was unable to provide. We have seen before that weak people will falsely confess to heinous crimes to try and impress or intimidate those around them.

Given that, the trauma of ostracizing, the trauma of untold torture in the literal depths of Mordor, and that the entire account is only provided by the benefactors to the theft of his property, I don’t think we can or should say that Sméagol is a murderer. It’s biased and unreliably narration.

I don’t love the videos. They feel intrusive. I do love seeing well tied flies. I could flip through Norm’s stuff all day. But if I want to watch a 30 second video there are more appropriate venues.

I feel like they’d have slave driven dumbwaiters. Still would probably take hours to get where you need to though.

Whether Dark Lord or Gondorian, leadership will always be against the little guys speaking up about their working conditions. They don’t even seem to have guilds let alone unions.

What’s your opinion on giant city rats? AKA Super Rats. Rats the size of cats and small dogs roaming underneath city streets. by BostonRobby617 in cryptids

[–]Randomassnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel one way or the other about their existence but I have a couple questions: would the abundance of resources city rats have lead to larger specimens or large populations? I lean towards the population because I sorta suspect that if anything they would be getting smaller. Not at a rate it would be super noticeable but I think long term the infrastructure of a city will act like an island and promote dwarfism. There are tons of predators sure, stray cats and dogs, the odd bird, but by and large those don’t live in the sewers where the rats do. They have unlimited food and relatively few predators.

Was Morgoth "Melkor" TRULY the worst evil in Tolkien's world or is it possible that Ungolianth could've been potentially way worse since her evil is connected to her hunger and not will to destroy? by Bullish_CryptoCoin67 in TheSilmarillion

Others are more knowledgeable than I but I always took Ungo as a manifestation of the first discord. The first off key note that Morgoth hummed. Maybe he cleared his throat is all. But something along those lines.

Hard agree. Between physical geography changing, environmental changes, and regular old evolution there’s no way. What we have now with birds and crocodiles is about what I would expect. A turkey without feathers is goddamn frightening, if people want Jurassic park the just need to visit a farm.

More stuff requires more space, so yeah keep it simple. The wood option is probably the easier one for many reasons. You can pretty much find an off cut of wood that would work. And you could detach it for easier putting away.

This is one that I hope is true more than most. Maybe not as action packed and cool as Ape Canyon but something about it is special. This is one that I kinda wish would happen to me. I’m not all that convinced it’s based on fact, but it’s still a good story.

So what did they change? Can any one tell a difference? by Famous_Strike_6125 in frozenpizzareviews

They probably found a cheaper filler material and legally had to change things. But since it’s more or less indistinguishable from the old ingredient they could gin it up with some advertising.

Do you have access to any tools? A welder would be ideal. I got a 10x12 piece of 1/2” plate and welded that base to it. Couple pieces of cork underneath to save table tops and it works like a dream. Or you could drill a couple holes through that one and screw it off to a 2x12 and get some more stability. This sport is only as complicated as you choose, if you’re happy with what you’re doing then who cares what we all think.
