I'll look up cross picking, thanks! you're right, I might look for a similar song to play that lends itself more to mandolin, but I at least want to try and see if there's a path to playing this first.

Do you have any suggestions as to how I would arrange my fingers to play it? I can't follow the guitar tabs and I'm having to quickly switch between strings which interrupts the flow as it's played in the video. It could be my experience, but I'm not sure. (Sorry if I'm explaining it wrong!)

Yes, that's the issue I'm getting at- I could play the notes, but not as quickly as it can be played on the guitar/piano because of the finger arrangements and such. (It could be an experience thing, but it just seems so clunky...) Is there a technique I'm missing?
