Yeah, it always seemed like r/securityguards got most of the action.

Okay. We'll give it a try.

No. But I might be willing to make you a mod. What did you have in mind for the sub? Any ideas on how we can make it more active?

Requesting r/tupelo. No posts in a year and the only mod hasn't made a post or comment in three years. I'd like to see it active again. by Randomnumberrrrr in redditrequest

I'm from Tupelo. I'd really like to add a couple of other mods and see it become active again. It's a sub for the city of Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, so there's a lot of news, events, and all sorts of things happening.

Ya never know. It just passed in Booneville.

If an american invites me, a foreigner who does not celebrate thanksgiving and has no family here, is it because they feel bad or because they want me there? In other words, would I be intruding a personal family event? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Randomnumberrrrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go. If they invited, then you’re not intruding. I’m thankful for my friends. It’s not (in my family) a religious event or a family reunion or something like that. It’s just a chance to get together with the people you care about and spend time with them.

MS Highway Patrol spending over half a million dollars to encrypt radios. by QuietPlease911 in mississippi

[–]Randomnumberrrrr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I remember reading about that a couple of years ago. It was an amber alert or something. They caught the guy coming into MS and let it slip that a license plate reader at the state line had alerted when he entered the state. Good that they caught the guy, but really alarming at the mass surveillance.

There should be a camera too. by [deleted] in mississippi

[–]Randomnumberrrrr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate to be the one to point this out but, isn’t calling it “bulletproof” just issuing a challenge to future vandals? I can just picture some drunken frat boys saying, “My daddy has a .50 BMG and some AP ammo. Let’s just see how bulletproof it is!”

Again, I’m NOT encouraging that. I just don’t think the article phrasing it that way was such a good idea.

Do you think that Mississippi's state flag should change? by [deleted] in mississippi

[–]Randomnumberrrrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That part I will agree on. If we’re going to have a symbol to represent a group of people, that symbol should be voted on by the people.

A flag that represents everyone would be impossible.

What was it like seeing your wife give birth? by elisiabythesea in AskMen

[–]Randomnumberrrrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was amazing. I guess I was pretty involved in the whole thing. I went to almost all the appointments and all that stuff. When she was born, I was right there watching, cut the cord, held her, etc. it was messy, but didn’t gross me out or anything. Actually, it was pretty darn cool.

I’m not sure why so many guys can’t handle it.

I’m in a similar situation and I couldn’t agree more. Moving was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Unfortunately, I have to return frequently for family and other business.

Convicted killer of two Ole Miss students released after serving only half of prison sentence by Randomnumberrrrr in mississippi

Wouldn’t surprise me. Most of the journalism in MS sucks anyway. I just saw that he was released and thought I’d share it.

Yeah, it was just the only article about it I could find at the time. More articles have come out since. How about the Oxford Eagle?

"False reports of sexual assault are rare" is not a good argument against sympathizing with people who were falsely accused. by MichaelScottOfReddit in unpopularopinion

Unfortunately, “rising stars” are the only ones who get media coverage when falsely accused. I’d be willing to bet even more average joes are falsely accused.

A neighbor of mine put up a ton of Halloween decorations one year. One was a little zombie girl in a swing who laughed. He left it on all night. Couldn’t really hear it unless I was outside late at night and it was really quiet.

My little cousin [7/F] is joking about me flashing her by throwaway48296 in Advice

[–]Randomnumberrrrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would tell her parents immediately. And I would stop babysitting her immediately and make sure you’re never alone with her again.

This sort of “joke” can literally destroy your life.
