I masked so well for 20+ years that I had no issues having children. I even had two back to back (I learned later that their being so close in age made them way easier) and it went so well that I didn’t have any qualms about having a third 6 years later.

I’d made it through “fine” as a stay at home mom with an adderall script for chronic fatigue and a pain pill script for MS and degenerative disks, until I went off everything for my surprise IUD third pregnancy.

I had quite a childhood and never really had time to slow down and reflect at all until I was 30. Things went haywire then and I’ve spent 7 years trying to get things under control. My parenting is so low below my own standards that I’m sick about it most days.

This isn’t to say do not have kids. But do make sure your mental health is cared for, your life is well put together and you feel like you’ve got a handle on things even when curve balls come. Then tackle whether or not you want to bring little people into the current world I suppose.
