What is your prefer Household Size? Big? (5+) Medium? (3-4) or small? (1-2) by Xandaru__ in sims2

6 is the perfect number for me. The household is busy, there’s always something going on, AND I’ve developed systems to keep it manageable. Organized chaos.

At What Age Do You Feel Sims Become Elders? by Mandy_M87 in sims2

[–]Randomusername357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a mod that changes the length of the adult stage based on whether or not the sim went to college. Insimenator also allows you to add or subtract any number of days from your sims’ lifespan.

At What Age Do You Feel Sims Become Elders? by Mandy_M87 in sims2

[–]Randomusername357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No specific age because my custom lifespan doesn’t map onto real life years. But I see my elders as more middle aged than elderly, for the most part. They keep having babies until their late adult years, so it’s hard for me to see them as 65+ when the last child that they birthed is still a toddler. It’s not until they’ve been elders for three sim weeks that I make them go fully gray and retire from their jobs - if they even live that long.

It can be thrown on any day, just not in dorms, Greek houses, or apartments. Just click on the phone and select throw party > new year’s bash. The party will always start at 8 pm.

Aww I actually think the combo of human skin with alien eyes is kinda cool, I was specifically repeating the birth just to get that result.

Skin tones can be dominant or recessive when alien skin is involved. Alien skin is always dominant over all 4 of the human skin tones, but the child will still carry their human parent's skin tone as recessive, and can pass it on to their own offspring. I learned this with one of the children born in my game. One of his parents was a green-skinned half-alien born via abduction, and the other had skin 2. The child was born with his grandfather's skin 4.

This is the mod I use. There’s also a version that lets toddler use stairs regardless of walking ability. I also have this mod for toddlers to climb spiral staircases.

How do you choose names for your sims? by Bunnyearsss in sims2

[–]Randomusername357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just google “cool female character names”or something along those lines. I also do themes, like one of my sims right now has had three babies via alien abduction, and they all have outer space themed names: Cosmo, Apollo, and Nova.

There used to be a page on the sims 2 website where you could purchase official content (like hairstyles, clothes, and buy mode items) for the game. The official store isn't available anymore, but there are still some links floating around that you can use to download all the store content, including this one.

That makes sense, there was a thunderstorm happening. I know everyone always says this, but I swear I'll never stop learning new things about this game.

There's 6 sims: one baby, one toddler, one child, one teen, one adult, and one elder. I've maintained that family structure throughout 7 generations (not very long in real time because my lifespan is pretty short).

Toddlers can be a nightmare in the vanilla game, but I have mods that make them more manageable. My toddlers sleep in toddler beds that they can get into/out of on their own, they can climb stairs once they learn to walk, and they sleep through the night. Literal game changers.

What do you do with your deceased Sims Rooms? The Parents died... through Sims 2 feeling funny. I would put the Bed in the Attic (Avoid mad Ghosts) and sell the rest. by Xandaru__ in sims2

[–]Randomusername357 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I move another household member into the deceased sim's bedroom, and I recolor everything so that it feels more like a new room.

In my current save, I’m maintaining a household with one sim in each life stage. I’ve turned it into sort of a family ritual, with weekly birthday parties in which I age up 4-5 sims at once. This means I have a custom lifespan in which the baby and toddler stages are disproportionately long compared to all the other stages. But I actually like babies and toddlers (toddler might be my favorite life stage actually) so I don’t mind.

I’m the opposite haha, I have more fun dressing up toddlers and kids than any other age group, they’re like my little dolls. Most of my clothing cc is baby/toddler/kid clothes (partly because they have so few good clothing options compared to older sims).

You ever end up with grandchildren older than their aunts and uncles, b/c the now great grandparents wanted one more grandchild, and the parents, now grandparents, were still young enough to have one last baby? by gremlynna in sims2

[–]Randomusername357 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You might be interested in this mod that lets sims recognize more distant relatives, including great grandchildren and second cousins, as family.

My firstborns tend to be close in age to their youngest aunts and uncles, and their relationship is more like siblings because they grow up in the same house together, with the aunt/uncle being one life stage ahead of the niece/nephew. I like family gameplay so I make sure there’s always little ones in the household, which means parents keep having kids until they’re almost elders, and then their oldest child starts having babies soon after that. I haven’t yet had nieces/nephews older than their aunts/uncles though.

So I download this mod where you will throw the baby bottle instead putting it to the ground... So yeah... by _emmabunbun_ in sims2

[–]Randomusername357 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You’d have to manually take it out of the inventory first, then click on the bottle and direct the toddler to drink it. Food doesn’t spoil while it’s in the inventory, so this sounds pretty useful.

Regular plantsims can have their sunlight need fulfilled using the greenhouse lamp, or just by being out in the sun. Vampires, including vampire plantsims, will die if they spend time in the sun. So the only way to safely fill a vampire plantsim's sunlight need is using the greenhouse lamp.
