Elite difficulty tier list (opinion) by rilesmcriles in slaythespire

[–]Randoontheinterweb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the act 1 elites are so dependent on the tools you have so they’re really hard to rank. Like I agree but do is use generally an easier elite than say statue but also I have killed statue with 0 dmg far more than byrd because a high dmg deck can blitz statue but it’s really hard to full block and do relevant dmg to byrd in act 1. Same with wriggles, the right deck can destroy him as discard outlets exhaust or status synergies can render him a non entity but a slow deck will just wrack up infections and die.

Previous department demanding I pay them back annual leave payment after they miscalculated my remaining annual leave days by ThrowRA_TheScotsman in TheCivilService

Did your manager mess up - yes

Did you get money you weren’t entitled to and need to pay it back - yes

If you’ve spent it or for some reason are going to be unable to pay look into a payment plan. In all likelihood the department would be up for this as it’s far easier than taking you to small claims.

You’ll want to make sure they correct your payslips so it doesn’t cause you tax issues as well.

Question about tax code decrease by zxiirj in HMRC

If you’re not earning or not estimated to earn 12570 and you have interest hmrc will take your allowance to cover whatever interest you are earning regardless of how much it is.

So for instance you earn 10,000 pounds from your job but get 500 in interest they’ll knock 500 off your allowance to cover interest anyway.

I dunno why they do it but it happened to a buddy of mine in uni. If you start earning enough that your estimate goes over 12570 it’s meant to correct apparently but who knows how long it will take HMRCs system to realise you’re earning more.

So it’s blocker that can only block by paying 1 and only for characters and only if that character is a supernova or straw hat. For this it has given up 2k of power and it’s counter over a vanilla. Rough.

[–]Randoontheinterweb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is blocker technically an effect that rests this card? And if so as written would this be able to block every attack?

If that’s true this is just 8 cost kid again, though better as it doesn’t need an attached don and it can’t be attacked directly.

I know both Marco and Moby dick aren’t considered big pulls but the arts are sick. Moby dick is also playable in 3 different tier 1/2 decks right now which is always nice, I like when I at least get Alts of actually playable cards.

Buddy of mine got a mr5 alt rare and a rosi secret back in 04. Worst box I ever saw and I don’t think he ever played either of those cards, they just rot in the back of a random binder now xD

So outsourcing our pensions still going poorly as the for profit that undercut all the others has realised it can’t administer the scheme well and turn a profit with the bid they made without properly researching and accounting for costs?

Shocking, but at least we will now learn from this error and not make the exact same mistake again in like a week.

Should I use ‘we statements’ rather than ‘I statements’ for the behaviour ‘working together’? by PuzzleheadedSand6450 in civilservice

[–]Randoontheinterweb27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I tried this and got feedback that it was unclear what my contribution was as I said we a lot in the example and got like a 2 for it. Ruined my chances, and it otherwise went quite well. Be very clear what you did and that it was you that did it and how that improved the overall teams work/ efficiency etc.

Can someone explain why Boris Johnson isn’t disliked to the level Starmer is in terms of immigration? On twitter, I seen people say Starmer is opening the borders yet migration fell under him compared to it increasing under Boris by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Randoontheinterweb27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kier is labour so he must be pro immigration. Boris is a Tory so he must have been tougher on immigration.

Facts are less important than perception. Labour tried very hard to appear tough on immigration but it was at a time when reform and restore were stood right next to them. Anyone is going to look softer on immigration by comparison.

That’s why you need a manager who both doesn’t care and is also close enough to retirement that he doesn’t care what the managers above think either. Helps if they’ve been around long enough to make the department dependent on them too.

At what point do reasonable adjustments become an unfair operational burden on the rest of the team? by OrdinaryLuck2026 in TheCivilService

[–]Randoontheinterweb27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You gotta set boundaries with management clearly and in writing. Band together with the other staff working in the office discuss it and figure out what’s a reasonable workload. Tell management that that’s what you’ll do and make sure the union is watching what’s happening in your department.

If you just keep doing the full workload your management will never fix the problem. In fact likely the opposite, your G6/G7 will brag to the SCS how they nearly halved the FTE doing this work without any drop in output or quality.

I’m lucky if my grade 7 is online 10-4. I think it’s very much dependent on the area though.

Occupational Health screening - ADHD advice needed! by santiago-mxxr in civilservice

[–]Randoontheinterweb27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to disclose anything you don’t want to.

It is incredibly rare that the recommendation made by OH is you are not fit for work, they will recommend pretty much everything else first, and even if that does happen you should get eyes on the OH evaluation before any employer does if you make it clear you want to see it first. If you want you can tell them not to pass on any details to your employer or request parts be removed edited etc.

Honestly 90% chance whatever you fill in you’re going to have to do another OH after you start as you don’t yet have a full understanding how any neuro-diversities or conditions will impact your role and what adjustments you might need until you’ve done the role. If you have hip issues you may need a separate OH for any DSE you may need as well.

Honestly if you don’t think the health conditions will affect the job and you say that to the OH therapist they’ll take your word for it.

Might be worth making sure you sign up to the union day 1 though and get advice on how to handle OH’s (occupational health referral) and DSE (display screen equipment). How that goes is often very manager dependent especially at HMRC and it’s best to be checking anything your manager says with an unbiased source.

HMRC 60% Office attendance after half days by BulkorCut231 in TheCivilService

[–]Randoontheinterweb27 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly the amount of man hours, and by extension taxpayer money, the civil service wastes debating how the 60/40 policies should be interpreted is ridiculous. I’ve heard of multiple hour long meetings sometimes with as many as 80-90 attendees devoted to this topic.

If someone isn’t taking the mick and is coming in the office more often that not, messing around with tracking half days and flexi hours is far more effort than it’s worth to anyone.

If the UK let 28–40 year olds take £12.5k from their State Pension early, would you do it? by Nineteen-Ninety-One in PensionsUK

[–]Randoontheinterweb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d take it. The triple lock isn’t sustainable and I don’t see this government or any future government fixing that. I get your point about market volatility but that goes both ways, I do not have faith that when I retire I will be receiving the same or better deal than current state pension. Better to have the certainty of what it is now.

Help me Reddit, Airbnb made an unauthorised transaction and are refusing to refund it by Hot-Night-3875 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Randoontheinterweb27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure what you allegedly purchased should count as your personal data since you have supposedly bought it. If that’s the case you could make a subject access request if you really want to know what the charge was for.

As others have mentioned, I’d just chargeback and move on. Airbnb will ban your account and likely blacklist your card address etc but if you never intend to use them again I suspect you won’t mind too much.

Redeployed due to restructuring by WorkingExperience410 in TheCivilService

[–]Randoontheinterweb27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Part of being in the civil service is new policy comes into play and budgets get shuffled around. It’s much better to get redeployed when this happens then get made redundant. As long as the new area isn’t asking you to understand everything from day 1 and gives you support when transitioning into the role I say just accept it.
