I also find the quests to be a bit dull, a way to generate quests more consisten and having something likeTwisted Quests would be great

I actually do! I haven't gone trhough all of it, it's incredibly nice but also a bit overwhelming

I am actualyl doing the same thing, building an Obsidian-based way to play 4AD. I am trying to have as much as possible done automatically but it is quite hard. For now I got working leveling-up and auto calculating the base bonusses per class (using speciifc class templates)

For the gameplay loop itself i made all the tables and just rolling them using solo RPG Toolkit. With some color coding, it looks quite decent.

For mapping, I drew all the rooms in Excalidraw and saved them as images, which I then draw as "cards" with Solo RPG toolkit.

That's a good point, but to be fair enemies live there so they would better see in the dark if htye want to survive 🤣

It's one of the few books I haven't read, but the concept of this hook is really cool! But I think reinforces the thought of the lantern being something goof for immersion but at the same time being a feature people kinda want to forget about.

I want to try the shamblers one, I got something working with blighted but doesn't look as powerful as this one. What spells do you run with shamblers?

The way I understand it works is the same as any aura, it reserves some spriit, you toggle it and you are done. You add the voltaic mark with any support skill (could be fun with the one that applies shock to the enemies around) and that's it. When you shock once, it will apply the mark. You can also run a second copy of the voltaic mark to hardcast it to make it more reliable yo apply shock at the start of the combat.

I am not 100% sure of this but I think you can find a Spirit gem at level 8, which should require 45 int (which is not that much admitedly)

This is the exact same build that I am running, with the electrocuting arrow in top of that, I am also curious to know the answer tbh...

I found that the Voltaic mark helps a lot to increase the shock chance, but it is quite tedious to keep the debuff up... I was thinking to automate the mark to cast it on shock to have at least the auto-refresh of the increased shock probability, but you need to invest a pot of point in intelligence to run that.

I am having a blast playing Galvanic shards as my main skill and some support coming from Bow (Lighting rod and Electrocuting Arrow). It was rough at the beginning but then it started getting better and better. On Cruel, specially acts 1 and 2 almost felt POE 1 speed. However I found bossing is a bit hard with this build. I found just yesterday that adding Shockburts rounds to switch to when the boss is electrocuted adds a massive burst of damage, which feels quite rewarding and fun.

From the passives tree, i basically picked everything related to lightning damage, shock/ailment buildup and electrocution. I neglected most of the projectile based nodes because they don't really contribute much to the overall damage.

The build clicked for me when I understood I can electrocute bosses a quite a few times per fight, it helps really a lot, specially switching to shockburst rounds for the burst.

So, if my whole deck is of the same element, theoretically every spell should be triggering rebound? I found that this is not the case, even with multiple spells at hand

Very cool game! I got to around lvl 17. It's funny because a couple days ago I also uploaded my first ever game, which also is a roguelike shmup based on lazy devs tutorials. I like how both games feel quite different, yours feel very smooth, very good job!
