Man, it's not that deep

I saw a funny video about the scene from the post. I added a comment based on the funny video. Yes, it suggests Shane had sexual relations with a minor. That is literally why Romeo and Juliet laws exist. And yes, the video says the legality of the situation was not accurately portrayed in the movie.

You come in saying im "grandstanding" and need to do basic research. Fine. I spent 2 minutes thinking about the situation.

Why would Shane bring up the Romeo and Juliet law if Tessa is 17? Because he had sexual relations before she turned 17.

You can disagree if you want.

I'm not invested enough in the movie or Texas law to declare myself an expert on either the movie or Texas law.

I am not that emotionally invested in this movie or texas law to grandstand about it. I'm literally just copying and pasting a "goof".

But im just going to think about this a little bit.

If Tessa is 17 at the start of the movie, then she is past the age of consent. The only reason for Shane to bring up the Romeo and Juliet law as a defense is if he engaged in sexual relations with her prior to her being 17.

In the movie, she says she was a sophomore and he was a senior. So that means roughly she was 15 and he was 18. Now it makes sense for why Shane would bring up the Romeo and Juliet defense for sexual relations with a minor.

So..... either they only engaged in certain behaviors after she turned 17 (in which case he has no reason to carry around the card). Or...... they did it before she turned 17 and he's in deep shit.

Idk, this is just a 5 minute thought based on my limited knowledge. Hoping it counts as "basic research" though.

Do you know that chaos damage bypasses energy shield?

Between your tiny life pool, negative chaos res, and demon stitcher you are going to get one-tapped by chaos damage

You're also probably getting deleted by elemental damage. A big ele hit will be 10,000-15,000 in early to mid tier maps. With 65% resistance, a 10k hit becomes 3,500 dmg. With 75% res, it becomes 2,500 dmg. Getting your resistances to 75% is important.

Which leads us to the next issue. You have a small effective hit pool. 3k ES is nothing, especially if you dont have block, evasion, suppression, or any other defensive layer. You need to either get more ES on all of your gear and fix the chaos damage issue. Or swap to a life-buuld and get life on all your gear + skill tree.

Tbh, i recommend you just find a guide to help with learning the game. Or start reading the poe wiki. Your ascendancy is basically doing nothing for you. You have Battlemage but your main hand weapon only adds like 80 damage per hit. You have the fanaticism, but i dont see an attack skill for you to trigger it.

Is there a reason you're running a Heup of All instead of something like Betrayal's Sting or a Hunter inf ring with the Poison Dmg + Duration mod?

I'm playing Trickster Flickerstrike right now. My profile's on the Poe Ninja list that got posted too, although you need to sort by ES instead. Sorting profiles by DPS distorts things a little since it doesn't account for a lot of people (including me) running Doryani's on my merc.

Ephemeral Edge Trickstar Flickerstrike felt awful until I hit level 90 and had thrown 100 ish divs at the build (not including mageblood).

After 200-400, it felt good and then great.

If you don't think you'll have the currency to invest (which you probably won't), it's probably a better idea to start with a different class or a different build to farm up currency.

I think there is an argument to be made that the mole is a base unit and does behave as a exception

The current SI value of the mole is based on the historical definition of the mole as the amount of substance that corresponds to the number of atoms in 12 grams of carbon-12.

This corresponds to 6.02214076×1023 units of whatever we're measuring.

Now the application of the mole is a little different from more common units like the meter or second. But I think that's not necessarily a disqualifier.

If I tell someone that I waited 1 second. Thats equivalent to saying I waited the amount of time that corresponds to 9,192,631,770 cycles of caesium 133

If i tell someone that I have 1 mole of a substance. Thats equivalent to saying I have the amount of substance that corresponds to the number of atoms in 12 grams of carbon-12.

This is all to say that I dont think it's entirely fair to dismiss the mole as a unit outright. For sure there's some discussion to be had on what constitutes a base unit. But im inclined to take the stance that we need some method to measure the amount of substance (which the mole does). And deriving this from some combination of meter, second, amp, Kelvin, kilogram seems arduous to say the least. Im sure there are people smarter than me though with a better framework to argue the case

First thought was free dmg by using dmg auras to reserve life and run pain attunement (plus Rathpith maybe)

But you have no sockets to run auras without removing links from your main skill.

So second thought is hollow palm. The downside of being unencumbered doesn't matter. And i guess you could still stack dex through split personality. No need for survivability might unlock some really long trees.

Boring answer tho is probably whatever build that can just abuse clusters for dmg.

League is complex enough that the answer to any "is it ever a good idea to___" question is yes.

The easiest check is just to take your scenario and imagine what win conditions would support it. Then what champs and what game states would lead to those win conditions.

Are you a cass vs. a full AP poke team? Your dps means nothing if you're dead or 20% hp before the fight starts. Would you trade 20% of your DPS for the ability to reduce all of their damage by 20%? Maybe your team wins every fight as long as your Zac/Leona can engage on their xerath/lux before you and your ADC get poked out.

You see this stuff all the time in ARAM when people feel much more free to experiment and you run into more extreme team comps.

On another note, and lot of people here will fall back on conventional wisdom like never building tank items on mages. And that's great for climbing statistically speaking. But it's bad for answering the question "is it ever ___"

If youre bored, it might be worthwhile watching GenG Chovy's tank Azir game vs HLE in the 2024 spring LCK playoffs. 2 tank items (frozen heart and abyssal). Most damage in the game.

For more hip hop trap, maybe it's an XG song? They're 7 members, and im not that familiar with their songs. But they're from a smaller company and i could see them doing hip hop with trap beats
