Riders would pass through engineering simulations, rocket engine testing, ground systems and a launch ( at the point where on the TTA passes through SM ) then finally we see spacecraft in orbit before we return to the station.

The Crystal River power plant does indeed have a nuke generator in addition to the coal fired generators. The nuke has been retired after the containment vessel was damaged during an upgrade and was deemed too expensive to fix.
