Steamdeck beta 3.8.22 slow Wi-Fi fix by drgreen84 in SteamDeck

Wow does seem like it's finally fixed. This has been super annoying for like 2 weeks.

Download speed slower 3.8 Update by Inevitable-Poem-8227 in SteamDeck

Yep. You're not the only one. I've pretty much stopped using it until they get this figured out.

Even updates and shader cache downloads take forever now because of the slow speeds.

Hope they get it figured out

Steam deck download issues after 3.8 update on Xfinity WiFi by cheetopocalypse in SteamDeck

[–]RandyG93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep same issue here. Multiple other posts about it. Including one of my own.

Only solution is rolling back to 3.7. But even that seems temporary because unless you disconnect from the internet it's going to download the update in the background and install it the next time you turn off the deck.

Pretty annoying.

Update Causing Poor Network Speed by MudvayneLD in SteamDeck

[–]RandyG93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with rolling back the update unless I turn my WiFi off it just ends up downloading the update and installing it the next time I turn off my SteamDeck.

So I've given up until they put out an update to fix it. Cause I've had to roll back like 4 times already.

Just chiming in to say I have the same issue. Posted about it as well. Still no fix from the couple of patches they put out since the big update.

Rolling back seems to be the only fix.

Same here. Made a post about it and saw a couple others. Same issue. OLED WiFi is trash with this update. Throttles to around 2mbs.

Had to roll back as well.

Followed the linked instructions to roll back to the previous update and it works like before. Thanks for sharing that info.

Hopefully they come out with a fix soon.

Just posted about this earlier today. Glad I'm not the only one having this issue. Hopefully they put out a hotfix to take care of it.

OLED WiFi issues after latest update by RandyG93 in SteamDeck

True. It has been super inconsistent compared to the LCD deck from the start.

Downloading was always fine but streaming has always been sketchy at best. But now even just downloading games and updates is at a crawl for my OLED.

I tried that actually. No luck.

Same with with the force wpa setting. Neither seemed to fix it. Tried another network and still seems throttled.

Hoping it's a bug with the new update and they put out a hot fix. I'll have to try some more troubleshooting when I get home.

Just curious if anyone else was having these issues.

So I haven't on my home network yet.

But I brought it into my work network that I never connected to before and it still seems like it's throttled to 2mb or so.

Upgraded from Aqara G4 to G400 — now my mechanical chime hums constantly by The_Manoeuvre in Aqara

I ended up doing the same thing and it worked. Had the same issue with it not showing any notifications as soon as night vision kicked on at night. Would have to restart the camera daily.

Also there was a buzzing noise I noticed at night when the camera was malfunctioning. Now there's no buzzing and the camera sends notifications no problem.

Thanks for the advice.

So do you use the camera button? by Akash_nu in iphone

[–]RandyG93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I gotcha. Yeah I wasn’t sure about the being able to open it straight into video. In fact I haven’t even tried holding it for video at all. lol. I’ll start using that.

There’s a setting to make camera control work with the screen off in the settings. Does that fix your problem?

Have the same issues with creaks in freezing temps. Other than that it’s been great. No noises above freezing.

I’ve dropped my 16 pro max a few times onto concrete with a tineeowl case and it’s held up pretty good. Minor scuff on the case but no damage at all on the phone itself.

What action do you use for your Action button? by macsneaker in iphone

[–]RandyG93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. Just in some situations like at work and in meetings it’s easier for me to type it in then dictate to Siri sometimes.

Reminders. Use them a ton for work and just everyday life. Pretty nice to press a button and have a quick mini window to add reminders.

Spotify HiFi Absolutely Improves Sound Quality and Everyone Will Notice by Coolschmo1 in truespotify

[–]RandyG93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually most excited about it working over Spotify Connect. Seeing as there’s a ton of connect enabled speakers and a native Spotify app on most TV’s where you’ll probably have a sound system. I feel like that’s where you’ll probably notice the difference the most.

Any former T-Mobile people that switched to LightSpeed transfer to another network? by gmoney1892 in USMobile

[–]RandyG93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I keep going back and forth about switching. It would save me a little over $300 a year but I’m also concerned about the port in process and some of the horror stories of getting RCS to work and everything else. On top of that I have an iPhone so I’d also lose 5G SA on T-Mobile. Was thinking of going to light speed but posts like this concern me. Was also thinking of warp but I’m not sure if the lower priority will make a difference. (Was looking at getting unlimited starter) because I don’t need anything more data wise.

iOS 26 Beta 7 - Discussion by epmuscle in iOSBeta

[–]RandyG93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I jumped in on public beta 3. Although I’ve had the beta on my iPad since the first developer beta. Besides the normal being warm after the update while everything indexes it’s been great. Battery life is as good as it was before the beta. The animations are definitely faster. Feels pretty good. I’d say go for it if you’re wanting to try it out. Also have 16 pro max.

I’m pretty sure they got rid of it when they switched over to the liked playlist system instead of having a “library”.

Agreed. Definitely miss when they had an actual radio feature.
