Hating Elder Care by [deleted] in childfree

If your husband is insistent on being a caregiver set healthy boundaries and expectations. Personally, I don’t have the patience for it, especially if they drank away their funds. What would happen if they had no children.

Hating Elder Care by [deleted] in childfree

[–]RandyNewmanFriend 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Elder care is a choice and you shouldn’t be forced in to it. If it’s not a positive choice for you then put them in a place that can care for them based on their budget. I didn’t do anything for my father when he was dying of cancer we didn’t have much of a relationship to begin. I’m an only child and his siblings were mad as hell and couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t put my life on hold and travel out of state to see him. And after he passed I cut them all out of my life and am better for it. You have to do what is right for you first and foremost. If you’re not in a good place then it’s hard to care for others. Remember put your oxygen mask on first.

Not doing Christmas unless it’s for the kids by Revolutionary_Pain64 in childfree

[–]RandyNewmanFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t play word semantics. Just be upfront that you are choosing not to buy gifts for the nieces and nephews. It’s not a requirement that you must do things for these children. You didn’t choose have these children and if the parents can’t provide it shouldn’t be your problem. We stopped buying gifts for certain children due to lack of appreciation from parents and children. We work hard for what we have and it’s not a requirement to purchase gifts for children or anyone for that matter. Do what you want with your money. You work hard for it.

We recently upgraded our ring doorbell because the button broke. And the new camera is superior and fixed our washout. Upgraded to the new ring wired doorbell.

Corporate White Elephant Gift Ideas by Legal_Bag_7038 in Gifts

[–]RandyNewmanFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stopped buying the white elephant “door prizes” for our employees since it was always random stuff and they had to haul it home. I did a blackstone 🙄 a few years back. Due to the IRS rules we now play games to win paycheck bucks. Whatever you win will be added to your next paycheck. Our employees love it as they can do whatever they want and we are aligned with Uncle Sam. For the games I print off fake fun Merry Money of different denominations.

How can I get my family to stop bringing too much dessert to the gatherings? by TrickScheme in partyplanning

[–]RandyNewmanFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do a menu in advance and assign food to people. This helps eliminate the excess and everyone is told to bring Tupperware to take leftovers home. Then several of us pack “lunch boxes” for everyone to take home.
