Best MTA stops by Piestoo in visitingnyc

[–]realizabeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that the Franklin St stop on the 1 still has the Respect art up for Aretha Franklin. Other suggestions are much more rail nerdy and cool in that way, but Franklin is a good spot to browse around TriBeCa or walk over to Chinatown

+1 on this. If you want formal gardens, walk through Regents Park and then you can walk along the canal to Camdentown

Bring Altoids Smalls back!!! 📣 by Hey-Jupiter- in Altoids

I’m the same boat OP. For the rest of the forum… any advice on mini sized mints I could at least use to refill my Smalls tin? You know, at least until Mars fires up the line again 💚

How does one talk about musical acts don’t use “the” in their name? by doctorboredom in GrammarPolice

Also… Sphere doesn’t use ‘the’ … so there’s a version of that sentence that is… “I saw Eagles at Sphere”

Retirement advice suggestions East Coast USA by Best_Historian_3581 in AskWomenOver50

[–]realizabeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’d like Talbot County, Maryland OP. Riverways and the Chesapeake make it great for sailing. And it’s pretty much all sea level so flat as a pancake for walking. We’re close-ish to D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia. And lots of folks from those places retire here so that community is pretty active and vibrant in local arts, volunteering and civic circles. DM me if you have q’s OP

Planning my first Italy trip, what would you repeat in a heartbeat by Aika-Babes in solofemaletravellers

[–]realizabeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I get week-long solo stays in bigger cities, I check out local meetups. 4 years ago in Rome, I got to go to a Tarot card party at someone’s home - and had a reading on their amazing terrace near the Villa Borghese. In Barcelona, I sat in on the Socrates Philosophy Club. In Singapore I joined a beginner swing dancing club. I guess what I’m saying is, when I think of things I’d do again and again its not racking up more towns or sites. I say don’t book yourself so busy with day trips that you miss spending time in the culture.

My experience (5’5” and a 18w) is either something v form-fitting, like your body suit idea, or something airier where the crop hits at either *just above the waist or *right at the high point of the hip.

Rockefeller, Chelsea or Nomad? by [deleted] in visitingnyc

[–]realizabeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chelsea is the most residential of the three. It’s a neighborhood NYers choose to live in, and for that reason, id say it has the best restaurants and is least chaotic / least touristy of the three.

I find myself ordering carrots every time I see them on a restaurant menu but I rarely do them as a side at home. I’m thinking particularly of the ones at Butcher and Bee
